The Best Kind of Threesome

Snacks? Check. Beverages, both alcoholic and non? Check. Pizza ordered? Check. Gory, disgusting and totally ridiculous horror movies? Doubly check! Date night was a go, but not just any kind of date night. Oh ho, this was the best kind of date night, her favorite in fact (save for the fact that her twinny was busy studying like a little nerd and couldn't be there to make it her absolute favorite). Most people might have seen it as third-wheelish for Adrian to 'crash' a date night between her two best friends. But the threesome was just that, a threesome. They had trio dates often and even doubled at times, when Adrian found a guy worthy of such a fun evening. Adrian was thoroughly comfortable in her independence that it didn't bother her being deemed a third wheel because she never felt like one. Seeing Robbie and Dani kissy and cuddly was probably one of the cutest things in the world, and she often said exactly that.

Movie nights were a common thing that happened at least once a month and it was always terrible horror movies that they watched. Romantic comedies were often boring, dramas were too...dramatic and action was all explosions and fast vehicles. The gory horror films were both scary at times and full of things to laugh at and mock. Along with the movie, all three of them gorged themselves on pizza and junk food. It was Adrian's one and only bad day that she allowed herself since she was a little health nut most of the time.

With everything placed and set up, Adrian awaited for the duo to arrive. She couldn't wait to see them both. If she hadn't been a twin who was inseparable from her sister, she was sure that the two of them would have been her pseudo siblings, and even still she kind of saw them in such a way. Dani was the girl she ogled to about boys and Robbie was the protective little brother that she had never gotten. Both were necessary and completely appreciated. The doorbell rang and Adrianna jumped up off the couch with a squeeee. 

Running over to the door, she flung it open and nearly tackled the first person she could reach, not caring which it was because the other was in for the same thing once she finished. "You're heeeeeere!"

Dani liked people who could handle the two "H"s: honesty and horror movies. The fact that she had stuck by a couple of people who felt the same for so long was something she was very happy about, whenever she stopped to think about it. She'd play it off with a joke or some level of sass if she ever opened up about it, but she had people she loved and she would likely be a much worse person if not for them. These people, of course, were Robbie and Adrianna.

Robbie had been there for her when she was a total spazz about growing up, and Adrian had been there for her when she just needed a friend. Some things were absolutely sacred when shared, such as crushes, anxieties, and bad puns. All of the above had been shared at one point or another with these two, especially bad puns. That was part of the reason Dani always looked forward to these date nights: lots of bad pun potential.

The other part of the reason was probably the food. Dani had scoured nearby towns and several websites trying to find Nitro Taki's for months, and she'd received a box full of them in the mail just in time for this month's movie night. So of course she made Robbie carry three bags to Adrian's apartment, using her free hands to articulate exactly how blown everyone's minds were going to be by these amazing chip things. Between extremely spicy chips and all the other junk they were bound to shove into their faces tonight, Dani knew she was going to be riding a foodie high for the next several days.

With that in her mind and a hand in her boyfriend's back pocket (to protect her from the cold of course), Dani rang the doorbell. After hearing the telltale thumps of someone running across the floor, she found herself nearly knocked over in an extremely energized hug. Breathing in the familiar scent of her friend, Dani felt already at ease. "Missed you, too, cutie." She returned the hug and gave the older girl an exaggerated kiss on the cheek. "Now let go of me before that one gets all jealous." She grinned between two of her favorite people. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she realized tonight was going to be great.

As always, date night with Dani and Adrian was something Robbie looked forward to the whole month. Yeah, sure hanging out with Dani alone was hella fun but getting his best friend and his girlfriend in the same breathing space, gorging on really bad junk food and watching really bad D-grade horror/thriller/gore movies back to back? It was Robbie's idea of heaven.

Too many people have told him that having a best friend who was also a girl was never a good call when you were in a relationship. Not only were they wrong when it came to him and the girls, they couldn't have predicted how well oiled the trio was. Robbie and Dani were way too involved with each other to look at other people and Adrian was too much of a free spirit to be tied to anyone, least of all someone like Robbie. And Adrian and Dani loved each other like whoa. It was always a running joke between the three of them that had Robbie not been in the picture, Adrian and Dani would have hooked up a long time ago.

Robbie listened intently to Dani's insistence that they would love the chips she had bought, a small smirk carved in the corner of his lips. As they waited for the door to open, Robbie couldn't help but give Dani another once over. "Unfair." He shook his head and jumped back a little when Adrian mauled Dani. The tease from Dani had Robbie pouting. "Yeah, get your paws off my lady. Git." He waved Adrian off before side-stepping her and setting the bags on the nearest surface he could find.

"I'll let Dani blow your mind with her chip story while I set things up with the TV." He grinned, patting Dani's butt as he walked past her to the TV.

Adrianna couldn't get over her excitement. It was common that she was this enthusiastic, sure, but getting this excited over people was a rarity meant for only a few. It had started out with her twin, Cassie being the number one lady in her life, trumping all who dared to sway her. Robbie had been her best guy friend throughout their years at BA prior to him finding the cutest, most adorable love of Adrian'shis life. Danicca had been intruding at first on Adrian's first big crush, Robbie being the cutie that he was, but once she met and actually interacted with Dani, the rest was history. Adrianna had become completely wrapped by the younger girl after just one time seeing her with Robbie and from that point on made it her duty to be her new best friend.

Releasing the tiny girl from her ecstatic embrace, Adrianna fanned herself from the kiss on the cheek and sighed dramatically, "God I love this woman. I missed you way more! And pshaw! Who cares if he gets jealous? What he doesn't realize yet is that you're really my woman and he's just kinda there for the ride," Adrian winked at Robbie before he brushed past them to set down the bags he was carrying. So easily dismissed without even a side-arm hug or a peck on the cheek like his girlfriend had graced her with. How very rude, Adrian wouldn't stand for it.

"Excuse you? Where's my hug you big ball of fluff?" Adrianna demanded with a stomp of her foot. She was in full pout mode, on the verge of a temper tantrum. "Much as I love my lady love, I would like a hug from my wittle brother! Don't make me tackle you, boy. I may be but little, but I am fierce!" Yup, she could thank Cas for that line, something from one of her silly books that she said reminded her of Adrian.

With a playful huff, Adrian's pout turned to a full on smile at the girl beside her, "Oooo! Did you bring new things? I wanna hear all about it! We'll let the man do man's work." Adrianna took the girl's hand and led her into the apartment further, kicking the door shut behind her.
