"It most definitely is." She responded, her smug little grin only becoming more prominent. She was definitely enjoying chatting with Tiana, she seemed relatively intelligent too, and not overly judgmental. No, Emily was more guilty of being called Judgmental than Tiana was, that was a certainty.
Emily wasn't really self conscious about doing things like going off on massive rants, but she did mind if Tiana wanted to put some input in the conversation and her rambling wasn't allowing that, she was genuinely interested in what the other woman had to say. She waited for the other girl's response, continuing to study her demeanour with great interest, Tiana was unique, and that was fun.
She gave off a shudder. "I guess you're probably right. I don't know how much time you've spent in other countries outside the US, but it's definitely more prominent here than it was back in the UK." She admitted. She snorted with amusement. "Well true, but I'm not this way through peer pressure or to be a freaking girly girl, I'm this way through eating habits and just because I'm not that hungry usually."

”Well at least you’re honest I guess. That’s one good quality.”
Tiana snickered after she said it, smirking at Emily. She noted that the smugness in Emily’s expression had only increased once she’d pointed it out. Tiana had to wonder how amusing they’d appear to anyone else who’d wander into the kitchen. Although she hardly minded the quiet company she had now.
"I guess you're probably right. I don't know how much time you've spent in other countries outside the US, but it's definitely more prominent here than it was back in the UK.”
Tiana shook her head, her smile turning into a little bit of a frown for a moment.
”I’ve never been outside the States sadly. Always wanted to go to and see at least one other country. Even more so now if the shaming thing isn’t as bad there.” She glanced at Emily, her smile returning somewhat ”Any recommendations on where I should go?”
Honestly she always wanted to go visit Italy for some reason. That or she wanted to see France; anywhere new and not America even if she knew she’d most likely return.
"Well true, but I'm not this way through peer pressure or to be a freaking girly girl, I'm this way through eating habits and just because I'm not that hungry usually.”
With her attention drawn back to the girl beside her, Tiana snickered and smiled.
”Same here, although mine more has to do with the fact I like being in shape for myself.” She admitted it with a shrug. ”That and it helps my power anyways.”

Emily's smirk persevered as Tiana carried on with the teasing, she responded in a mostly sarcastic tone. "Oh, I have plenty of good qualities, you might just have to look for them a bit." She responded in a teasing tone. She drained her tea cup and moved over to the sink to wash it off, not bothering with the dish washer she just hand washed it because it only took a few seconds really.
She turned her head to look at Tiana and smiled. "Well, as much as people here will say otherwise, Canada is absolutely lovely. The UK is not too bad either, most of Europe either." She wondered where else would be good for people to go and came up with a bunch of places she would love to visit in her head.
She finished washing up and dried off the cup, reaching back into the cupboard to put it back into it's place. Turning back to Tiana she smiled. "Ooooh, do tell? If you don't mind that is. It seems to always make for interesting conversation." She smiled.

”Yeah, let me just go get a microscope so I can actually see them. Might take me a while.”
Tiana was appreciating Emily’s wit and their banter more and more as the conversation went on. She watched the girl wash out the cup, raising an eyebrow since she didn’t put it in the dishwasher. Tiana simply did since the only cooks could be a little crazy on hygiene.
"Well, as much as people here will say otherwise, Canada is absolutely lovely. The UK is not too bad either, most of Europe either.”
Her expression shifted to a more curious one, although Tiana herself didn’t have any prior views on Canada.
”I’d be fine with visiting Canada. The good news is it wouldn’t be too long of a travel. I’ve always wanted to try visiting Italy. No particular reason.” She shrugged nonchalantly. ”That or France. Anywhere really.”
She shifted her weight on the counter slightly and thought. She figured she wouldn’t be able to visit anywhere else any time soon, but it was a nice goal and idea to have.
"Ooooh, do tell? If you don't mind that is. It seems to always make for interesting conversation.”
Tiana smirked but inwardly a small part of her cursed at having mentioned powers. Although so far Emily seemed alright so Tiana wasn’t as worried.
”I’ve got super agility. Which tends to either sound boring in comparison to other powers, or some horny teen’s wet dream.” Tiana flashed Emily a wry smile. ”Honestly I don’t care either way, but sometimes the reactions can get annoying. What about you?”

Emily felt a mischevious grin spreading across her supple lips, she was feeling like her and Tiana were going to become fairly good friends, she was imagining when she gets bored with the sub-par food at Bellefonte, she could go and get Tiana to cook something that tasted better, maybe bribing her with some freshly baked cookies or something in return, which happened to be one of the only 'girly' things that she engaged in regularly.
The brunette thought back to her experience of Canada and smiled. "I've actually only been once or twice, with my dad when he was on a trip up there. But it's absolutely stunning, and the people there are really friendly and welcoming. Which is more than I can say about a lot of people at Bellefonte." The brunette didn't speak all that much about the reception and impression she'd gotten at Bellefonte, but needless to say it hadn't been good.
Emily didn't bring up powers all that often actually. In fact the only real reason she'd began to speak about it was because the other girl had mentioned it. She tilted her head. She'd always wondered how powers like that worked. She couldn't imagine what it felt like to have such a physically effecting power, it was interesting.
She smiled gently. She wasn't one of those students shy about her power, it was kind of cool if anything, she just sometimes worried about making people she actually did like uncomfortable by making the area cold. She gently held out a hand for Tiana. "You can probably tell just by touching me, to be honest." Her skin would feel only a few degrees warmer than holding an ice cube at this sort of time.

"I've actually only been once or twice, with my dad when he was on a trip up there. But it's absolutely stunning, and the people there are really friendly and welcoming. Which is more than I can say about a lot of people at Bellefonte.”
Tiana chuckled, but it wasn’t at Emily. If anything it was at herself considering she felt the same way. She hadn’t exactly been fond of the school when she first arrived, so she hadn’t given off the best first impression.
”I don’t think that would necessarily be hard considering. Although to be fair I wasn’t exactly the most ‘friendly’ person when I got here. I might’ve asked for it.”
Although it wasn’t like Tiana was going to go around apologizing for it. She was still iffy about the school despite the years she’d been there. The introduction had simply rubbed her the wrong way. When Emily hardly reacted to Tiana’s power, she had to smile faintly. Finally, she met one of the rare few who broke either stereotype. Although from Emily’s expression, Tiana could tell she was curious about something.
"You can probably tell just by touching me, to be honest.”
Tiana had to raised an eyebrow at Emily’s statement. Her eyes went down to Emily’s hand and she moved to take it.
”That kind of statement can be taken a lot of ways.” She teased before actually touching Emily and looking surprised. ”Wow! Cold manipulation I’m guessing? Or something along the lines of ‘Elsa’ powers.” She smirked at the added bit. ”Which you can definitely expect me to tease you about now.”

Emily's head moved slightly to the side, observing Tiana's response of laughter, she wasn't sure what was so funny. Maybe the other girl had thought that the brunette was busy being sarcastic, unfortunately, she really really wasn't. She suspected it had been far worse because she was British, and in terms of her accent about as British as a person could get, freaking Buckinghamshire.
She smiled again at the other girl. 'Nice' was very subjective in her opinion, she could be polite. And she cared a lot about the people that were important to her, and they knew that they were important to her. That was what mattered, not anybody else's perception of her. She wasn't UNPOPULAR. Quite the contrary in fact, she got hit on by guys her age a lot, even a few girls. But she always felt it was more because of where she was from than who she was, she was exotic or interesting to some people, and that just pissed her off.
Emily snickered at the comment. "I guess you could, but I think the way you take the comment probably tells more about your personality than it does mine." She countered with a thin smirk. She shrugged "I'm always cold, I Can't help it. I don't feel it much either, and yes I can create Ice."
She smiled. "Is the room too cold, or is it still okay?" She asked.

"I guess you could, but I think the way you take the comment probably tells more about your personality than it does mine.”
One eyebrow arched upwards as Tiana regarded Emily with a curious and mischievous smirk. Mirroring the girl’s previous action, Tiana’s head tilted to the side slightly.
”Does it now? Well tell me, oh perceptive one, what exactly you’ve learned.”
It was all in good fun, but Tiana was honestly curious now what exactly Emily had inferred from the little joke. Honestly Tiana had an idea, but she didn’t want to assume anything.
"I'm always cold, I Can't help it. I don't feel it much either, and yes I can create Ice.”
Tiana snickered and flashed Emily a full grin.
”All you need is a music number and you’re one step closer to being a Disney princess.”
Tiana really couldn’t help herself. It was too much of a coincidence, although from their short interaction she knew that Emily was far from a Disney princess of all things. Still, it was too funny for Tiana to pass up.
"Is the room too cold, or is it still okay?”
She scoffed and waved her hand dismissively.
”Believe me, with how hot it normally gets in here I actually welcome the bit of cold you bring. The whole ‘can’t stand the heat stay out of the kitchen’ thing is real. It can turn into an oven on it’s own in here sometimes.” Tiana assured her before a question came to mind. ”Speaking of which, does heat bother you then?”

Emily was feeling gradually more hyperactive as the conversation went on. It was funny how quickly an awesome person could change your opinion of them. Her initial impression on seeing Tiana in here was that the other girl was just a normal health freak, or skinny plastic girl. She had been so deeply, thoroughly wrong in her initial impression, and made a mental note to wait before judging people. There were genuinely great people at the academy, she just needed to look closer.
She smirked again and replied teasingly. "Now what would be the fun in telling you?~" She had finished cleaning up and sat up on a desk on one side of the room, perched gently and observing the other girl with a mixture of curiosity and amusement at the other girl. She'd heard the Elsa comparisons far too many times.
"You dissapoint me, Tiana! I was expecting something more original for somebody as adorably sassy as you. Oh well." She feigned a sigh, before letting off another wide smirk.
Emily shook her head. "Only extreme heat, and even then I can usually cool down the area around me. I froze a lake once, that was weird." She admitted.

”How’s about seeing my reaction to it? That’s usually fun to see in anyone.”
Tiana’s expression carried a mirror of the smirk Emily wore, although Tiana stayed in the same spot. She was comfortable enough simply leaning instead of needing to sit.
"You dissapoint me, Tiana! I was expecting something more original for somebody as adorably sassy as you. Oh well.”
Tiana actually snorted and rolled her eyes, sending Emily a look complete with an amused smirk.
”I’m so sorry, your highness. Because obviously it’s my life’s goal to come up with original comebacks solely for you.” She returned with a cheeky smile. ”I’ll be sure to do so much better so I don’t disappoint you. Heaven knows I couldn’t live with myself if I did.”
The dramatic emphasis and sheer amount of sarcasm in Tiana’s voice was enough to make her grin widely. It was a little over the top but Tiana hardly cared when she was having so much fun doing it.
"Only extreme heat, and even then I can usually cool down the area around me. I froze a lake once, that was weird.”
Tiana’s eyes widened before she raised an eyebrow at Emily. A faint smirk was tugging her lips and an Elsa reference danced on the tip of her tongue. it was extremely hard for her to restrain herself.
”You don’t want me to make any Elsa jokes, but you’re making this way too easy.” She snickered. ”An entire lake. Your power is definitely stronger than mine.”

Emily smirked at the other girl's reaction, but didn't say a thing. She had been mostly teasing, but she was committed to this now so she was going to keep it up. Studying Tiana without being on guard, she noted that the other girl was really very pretty, and she definitely had a more shapely figure than Emily did. She imagined the other girl probably got hit on quite often.
The brunette shook her head gently. "Well, I'll say this at least. I'm glad I ran out of milk, you're pretty fun to chat to. Not too many people here would respond this well. It's refreshing to find another girl who does." The other thing that probably didn't help with this was her accent, and the sheer number of idiots that lived at BA.
Emily wasn't really expecting that reaction. She shrugged. "I don't know if I'd consider it stronger. It's a pain at times other way. But again, I can't really complain too much judging from how unlucky some people are with their powers." She huffed out air in front of her, it clearly misted.

"Well, I'll say this at least. I'm glad I ran out of milk, you're pretty fun to chat to. Not too many people here would respond this well. It's refreshing to find another girl who does.”
Tiana felt herself genuinely smiling, pleased with Emily’s words. Especially since they reflected Tiana’s own feelings. She laughed and shook her head, pushing some hair out of her eyes.
”In a weird way I’m glad you ran out too.” Tiana offered with a lopsided smile. ”You’ve definitely kept me entertained and happy for the past few minutes, so the feeling is definitely mutual.”
Emily had picked the perfect word Tiana would’ve used to describe the encounter: refreshing. The witty banter had held Tiana’s attention the whole time, and the fact Emily hadn’t gotten defensive or ruffled with Tiana’s sass was certainly a good sign. It was a kind of trait Tiana could easily appreciate in another person, especially another girl her age.
"I don't know if I'd consider it stronger. It's a pain at times other way. But again, I can't really complain too much judging from how unlucky some people are with their powers.”
Tiana giggled slightly as mist came from Emily’s mouth, but she nodded her agreement.
”My power may not be as flashy or spectacular to watch as some people’s but at least I don’t have their long list of horrible side effects. There yeah there’s some people whose powers are plain old unlucky. I’ll take super agility any day.”

Emily giggled at the response, the first time she had since the start of the conversation, it was a weirdly genuine and unguarded sound for her to make. "Well, I'm glad I'm able to entertain, if nothing else that fact makes me smile. I think we should actually set out to hang out some time, if you're not opposed to the idea." She responded with a distinct honesty in her voice.
Emily tried to imagine what it would be like to have super agility. She imagined that a lot of teenagers immediately jumped to the sexual conclusions. Emily was never very sexual. She teased people, and she wasn't embarrassed by any of it, but she also didn't really find herself attracted to people all that often.
"Well, it sounds like you could have a lot of fun with it. I imagine if you're quite into physical activity it can be useful. I'm sure you can imagine how useful making shit cold is when you're out on a track." She replied sarcastically.

"Well, I'm glad I'm able to entertain, if nothing else that fact makes me smile. I think we should actually set out to hang out some time, if you're not opposed to the idea.”
Tiana’s smile grew when Emily actually giggled. She hadn’t heard a noise like that from the girl yet, and Tiana had a feeling it was a rare occurrence.
”I’d be fine with that. Hell I could give you my number and you could text me sometime. You’d be a lot more fun to hang out with than most.”
Already Tiana was on the move to open her bag off hanging from a hook off the wall. After retrieving her phone, she handed it to Emily with a new contact for her to insert her number.
"Well, it sounds like you could have a lot of fun with it. I imagine if you're quite into physical activity it can be useful. I'm sure you can imagine how useful making shit cold is when you're out on a track.”
Tiana snickered and shook her head, flashing Emily a mischievous smirk while she waited for her phone.
”True, but hey freezing the track could be useful too. You could make everyone else mysteriously trip.” Tiana suggested with a half grin. ”That or freeze their muscles up while you’re waiting for the start. Although that would all be against the rules and here at Bellefonte we’re nothing but honest and honorable.” The sarcasm in Tiana’s tone was almost palpable. ”Because of course we only want the very best. That and I’m sure such a ‘sweet innocent thing’ like you wouldn’t do something so naughty.”

Emily's smile only widened as Tiana went to fetch her phone and handed it to Emily, she resisted the temptation to giggle again. Showing that she did have a more feminine side in one evening was quite enough thank you very much. She stared down at the phone for a few seconds, getting lost in thought before realising what she was doing and typing in her contact details.
She laughed out loud at that comment. "I've actually never thought of that. I'm pretty conscious of how cold the area around me is most of the time. I don't imagine being made freezing for no apparent reason is terribly fun, though I wouldn't know. It's become hard to remember what being dis-comfortably cold feels like if I'm being honest with you." A true benefit to her power was that she could be out in snow in shorts and jeans and not care much. Heck, she could probably do it naked. Not that she'd try that.
She handed the phone back with a mischievous grin spread across her lips. Even though it was sarcasm it made Emily smirk. "Well, that last comment sounded vaguely dirty, though I'm sure someone as saintly as you would never have intended that." she teased in response.
