The skating rink was crowded but Robbie had already dragged his girlfriend all the way out here and he wasn't leaving until he could have his time with Dani.
"This is going to be fun if it's the last thing we do." He tugged at the beanie covering his otherwise messy blonde hair he just couldn't be bothered combing through. "Don't give me that look. I know I'm twenty-one years old but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy skating on ice with my paramour."
He held his hand out to grab at Dani's and he squeezed through.

Dani was not supposed to be having fun. She was a mature, reasonable adult college student with mature reasonable adult college responsibilities. She should have been spending today filing taxes or something, right?
But instead, here she was, dragged out of her dorm room by her boyfriend's crazy new date idea. And she was trying so very hard not to show him how much she was loving it. You sound less than convincing, Sunshine. And I know sound." She squeezed his hand back when he squeezed hers. "So I guess you'll just have to convince me with action."
She was going to leave out the part where the last time she'd been skating, she'd fallen flat on her face. Hopefully she would have better coordination this time.
"So, since your paramour has been busy a while, mind telling her what your week's been like?" She posed the question as casually as she could. Really, she knew she'd been kind of shutting herself in lately and she wanted to get back to the fun and happy-making parts of her life. Like Robbie.

"Keep your sass to yourself. I know sound. That's an unfair statement and you bloody well know it." Robbie pointed a mockingly accusatory finger in her direction before booping her nose for effect. "See, having fun already no?" His arms moved down to curl around her waist as they managed to find a spot for them to glide a little.
He chuckled at her emphasis on the word and shrugged. "Training is hard. You have to anticipate so much shit. And like, as a terra, I'm not that helpful. But, whatever. I'm gonna crush this training internship and then you can start calling your boyfriend a trainer some time soon." He nodded, puffing his chest out a little.

Dani crinkled her nose upon being booped. "Maybe." She mumbled. Reaching one arm up, she placed a hand on his shoulder to steady herself. The other hand made its way to one of his at her waist, and she laced her fingers with his. If she was gonna go down because she lacked grace in all senses, she'd like to at least be tangled with him.
"Aww, Wilkes." She smiled up at him. "I know you're gonna do great. This is the kind of thing you were made for." She paused, running her eyes over his physique as best she could given the situation. "Well, that and male modeling, but you can't do much to help kids with just a pretty... Everything."
At the question of her current academic hp level, Dani shrugged and sighed in quick succession. "It's all too easy, of course. I'm either doing damn fantastic or going down in record time." She couldn't help but smirk when she thought of the million ways she could turn this conversation from that phrasing alone. "Of course if I'm going down, it's going to be in style. Like, satin sheets and lots of fire surrounding the area. You know, like an average date night for you."

Giving a satisfied grin to his partner, Robbie happily let her hand move everywhere they wanted. He was definitely here to support her should she feel like falling.
Her encouraging words, with a dash of sarcasm made Robbie laugh and shrug. "I mean I could let them have a face to aspire to. Make them just as vain and superficial as I am." His head raised a little as a cocky grin spread across his lips when his girlfriend checked him out.
Before she even got to her ensuing remark, Robbie was already snickering at her turn of word. He full-on laughed when she continued, and he poked her side in retaliation to making him laugh out loud. "I'm not a fan of fire, you know that. But you have the right idea." He raised an eyebrow and looked down at her, his fingers grazing up her side, dangerously close to quite an inappropriate place.

Dani liked to think she knew how to make the man she loved laugh. The fact that he could do the same for her was a good part of the reason she was with him in the first place. So of course they would banter and flirt in a very crowded public area with no second thought, because the focus was to get the other to smile and nothing else. Well, very little else.
She was absolutely fine with him being vain, because she would be a hypocrite otherwise. That didn't mean she was going to stop herself from giving him a hard time about it. "You, superficial? I'd never have thought. Not once in all these years. Not every single day at all." She pretended to think for a moment. "I suppose you agreeing to date me would have been a major clue, though. I am fairly hot."
And there was that laugh. She loved him when he laughed. Her cold little heart pulled a Grinch-at-the-end-of-the-movie when Robbie laughed. As distracting as that was, she still noticed exactly where his hand was headed, and in response she bumped him with her hip. That was probably a bad idea, as she was not the best at remaining balanced on the ice. Her shift in weight caused her to lose her footing, and she caught herself thinking very quickly how much force her body falling onto the ice would generate (not much) and how much that would hurt (a lot). Still holding onto Robbie, she was hoping purely that his balance right now was better than hers.

And Dani would be absolutely correct. One of the many reasons Robbie fell for the younger mutant was because everything that came out of her mouth was comedic gold. To him.
And of course, another reason was what she so eloquently claimed. She was, indeed, fairly hot. "Yeah, exactly. That's the only reason we're still going so strong." He retorted with a smirk before making a biting gesture in her direction. "Sassy."
Her reaction to his touch made him laugh and almost instinctively bring her closer to him in the process. "You okay there, clumsy?" He snorted.
