Trevor Allen Paige
FACE CLAIM: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
---------------------------------
AGE: 17
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: Student
POWER: Hyper Awareness and Eidetic Memory
Trevor has displayed a remarkable adeptness for picking up and retaining even the most minute of details. It takes mere moments for Trevor to be able to sweep a given scene and decipher minutiae that would escape most normal senses. This awareness extends to the entire scope of Trevor's sensory perceptions. With a few moments of concentration he can memorize nearly every tiny detail of a given scene, subject, picture or even text.
As a parallel, Trevor is capable of recalling said details even under the most stressful of situations. His recall and perception combine to make reading and comprehending textbooks painfully simple, as well as spotting minor ticks and cues in a person's demeanor. This power is never fully off and doesn't require 'activation' of any sort, though concentrating upon a given subject will enhance his perception and future recall.
LIMITATIONS:
- While at times it may seem as though Trevor possesses a sort of extra sensory perception, Trevor cannot sense anything outside the realm of a normal human. It's the level of perception and retention of the tiny details that are the focus of his power.
- Truly small or minute details may take time as well as concentration in order to recall. Often he has to 'relive' or go through events in order to pick out such things.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Since the power is never fully 'off' Trevor has a habit of losing focus very quickly and often has trouble paying attention to one thing at a time.
-Trevor has chronic hypotension, or low blood pressure. He takes medication in order to combat this condition but is still prone to side effects that include light headedness, cold or clammy skin, loss of feeling in his extremities, discoloration of his fingertips and lips, fatigue and extreme thirst.
- Due to the rapid way in which Trevor's mind processes and retains information he suffers from insomnia and has a great deal of trouble sleeping without the use of medication. He fears growing addicted to such medication, thereby resulting in his reluctance to use them and simply opts to deal with his condition.
"I just don't know." The kid said to his friend after giving a resigned sigh. The young man was in an obvious dilemma that, judging by the look on his face, was one that threatened to shake the very foundations of his being. A conundrum the likes of which no man, especially one so young, should ever have to be stricken with. Naturally, it had to do with a girl.
"I don't know what to say." Summer vacation had just ended and the doldrums of a new school year had only just begun. The object of the young man's affection stood at the end of the hallway, catching up with a few friends. Her golden hair glinted in the sun that shone through the windows of the hall given her an almost ethereal glow as she smiled and nodded at the conversation. "What do you say to someone like her?" He grunted in frustration. "If only I had an in."
"I'd suggest you learn to like football because your girl's a big fan of the Miami Dolphins." A voice interrupted as another young man stepped between the two friends, his dark eyes trained on the girl in question. "Good news for you is she likes video games. Unlucky for you she's mostly PC." He nodded thoughtfully before glancing between the two boys and shrugging faintly. "Not those dirty consoles you use." There was nary a pause before the dark haired young man started up again, not giving his unwitting proteges a chance to speak. "She spent summer vacation on one of the coast surfing." His eyes narrowed just a bit before he nodded again. "Right. And watch the bracelet she has on her left wrist. She rubs it when she's nervous." And with that the young man slapped the love struck teen in the chest and turned to walk away.
“W-wait.” The dumbstruck youth stammered. “Do you know her?”
“No.” The dark haired teen said with a faint shrug. “Never seen her before today.”
“Then how do you know so much about her?”
The question brought out a subtle smirk. With a tap to his temple, the teen started backing away. “You've gotta pay attention to the details.” He said a-matter-of-factly before turning on his heel and heading off down the hall.
- Trevor Paige, personal journal for period three social studies, entry number one. -
"I've never been one to talk about myself but it's required for class, so I don't have much of a choice. My name is Trevor Paige, a few people call me 'Trev' and I secretly hate them for it. I came to Bellefonte four years ago when I was thirteen under the most boring set of circumstances imaginable. Both my parents are mutants so when me and my siblings were born they were looking out for the first signs of our manifestations. I started getting dizzy spells, the made an appointment, here I am. Hardly the excited tale of setting something on fire or waking up floating on the ceiling.
"Anyway, I figure I'll gloss over the boring details. I'm an Army brat. Until I came to Bellefonte my family moved around a lot. I've spent time in Korea, Germany and every corner of the US. I didn't mind. I got to experience more than most about the world, learned a great deal of other cultures and even made a few friends along the way I still talk to. I think bouncing around as much as we did helped me when I got here. I've never had problems fitting in or making friends. Bellefonte is just one big melting pot of different cultures, ideas and world views mixed with ungodly amounts of teen angst and repressed sexual tension. Seriously. It's bad.
"I guess I've always been good with numbers and putting things together. It's easier than most people think. Of course, I'm probably cheating with my power but that's beside the point. I tend to look at myself as a problem solver. I can't help it if my fellow students occasionally need a hand with... certain things. It's not like I break the law I'm just better at making things happen than most. It's a blessing and a curse. I consider it my gift to the suppressed students of Bellefonte. It's not my fault if the strict policies the Academy has opened up an opportunity for some of us.
"I know I'm being vague. That's the thing about misdirection and subterfuge. It's just a matter of talking without actually saying anything. You could say life is a gamble. It's just one big game of high stakes craps. Some people are simply better suited to handle sitting at the table than others. If you want to play you better load the dice because if you don't, someone will.
"Most likely it'll be someone like me."
