Marionette Ezra Lenevett
FACE CLAIM: Devon Jade
---------------------------------
BIRTH NAME: Devva Ezra Lenevett
AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Demisexual
POSITION: Student
POWER: Animation
'Remote Manipulation, Class: Puppetry'. Often known as animation. This is the ability that Marionette has. She controls dolls with this ability. She has one doll that is linked directly to her person, a doll that she often carries around with her. This dolls name is Oisa. She must have a strong admiration of a doll (i.e. the doll must belong to her, be one that she really, really wants, or be given to her) for her to control it without any kind of contact. Otherwise a brief touch is enough to allow her to control a doll -- though the shorter the contact, the less likely she will control the doll well.
POWER: Animated Communication
This second class of remote manipulation involves Marionette's inability to speak as she has no vocal cords. She uses her doll, Oisa, to speak for her. She cannot speak telepathically to anything but her doll, which then relays the 'voice' she is projecting to it through it's own lips. She can only speak through one doll at a time.
LIMITATIONS:
- She can only control dolls that are in a foot radius of herself.
- She can control certain dolls that she has a connection with without physically touching them, though it takes a lot for a doll to become connected to her abilities -- most dolls require brief contact, at least. The longer the contact, the better she will control the doll.
- She can only control a doll for a set number of minutes. If she is controlling more than one doll, that set number of minutes is divided between the number of dolls she is controlling. (So if the set number of minutes for one doll is 30, and she is controlling 2 dolls... 30/2=15 minutes per doll.)
- Her telepathy does not extend to other people -- just her doll, Oisa, who can relay her voice aloud for others to hear.
- If she tries to control too many dolls at once, she will lose all control and the dolls she was attempting to control will become lifeless.
- She can only use her animated communication up to fifty times a day.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- If she tries to control too many dolls at once, and they do not become lifeless and out of control, she will get a nosebleed (a violent one) and a migraine -- and usually side effects from the migraine (nausea, vomiting, blurry vision).
- If she tries to talk too fast, Oisa cannot keep up and her words will be garbled when they are projected via the doll.
- If she is ill and attempts to use her abilities, they will further her illness.
- Often using Oisa for more than just talking will exhaust her; and therefore she often spends a lot of time sleeping. The longer she uses Oisa, and the more energy spent controlling Oisa, the longer she will sleep.
- If she exerts herself to the point of fainting, there is a chance she will enter a coma as her body restores the energy.
HEIGHT: 5'2"
HAIR COLOR: Blonde
EYE COLOR: Brown
MISC: She has scars across both of her wrists, and wears large bracelets to hide them. She has a thin, faint scar across her throat that is only noticeable if she lets you get closer to her.
PERSONALITY:
Marionette is very eccentric – she definitely has her flairs. She is respectful to those around her – as long as they are respectful to her. She does have a bad side, but it is very rare and quite hard to get on her bad side.
She does not like large groups of people, most often finding an empty corner in a crowded room just to have some space. She prefers peace and quiet to hustle-and-bustle; often times this will prevent her from willingly working with large groups. This is the reason that she does not have many friends.
She has a very short temper; though what girl doesn't? If she is angered by someone, she normally takes it out on herself, as she will blame herself for being angry -- that she deserved it, or that there is something wrong with her. She does not take well to compliments -- as she has a low self-esteem. Whenever she is complimented, Marionette tends to believe the person is making fun of her, mocking her, or outright lying to her and will often take compliments as bullying.
She is normally five minutes late to everything, no matter how hard she tries to be on time. She does not like things that test her mind – so puzzles frustrate her (though she will try to complete them; and often fail).
On the outside, though, she tries to act as though she adores herself -- when really every smile is probably fake. An honest smile is rare for Marionette.
SECRET(S): The fact that she hates herself.

CHILDHOOD:
Marionette Lenevett was born Devva Lenevett. She had a normal childhood, well, as normal as someone who was born without vocal cords could be. She was home-schooled by her mother, who quit her job as a teacher -- her father, a scientist at the CDC doted upon her and often was away on business trips.
At the age of six, her father died -- his plane crashed while he was travelling to California to deal with an outbreak of what was thought to be the plague. She was devastated, and spent a lot of her time with her younger siblings -- twins, Anae and Bellira, who were born later that year. Her eldest brother, Jones, was away at camp.
At the age of eight her mother remarried. Her stepfather treated her kindly, as well as her siblings, but that did not make her call him any form of 'daddy'. Her younger sisters did, though.
Her childhood was regular until she entered her adolescence. One of her half-siblings was born when she turned nine, and another when she turned eleven.
ADOLESCENCE:
At the age of thirteen, her youngest sibling -- half-sibling, was born. Her mother and stepfather doted on this sibling and stopped giving her the attention she desired, and so, when she was placed into a private school (due to her mother deciding that she would be taught more) and the bullying started, neither one of them noticed. Her siblings noticed, but could not get their parents to pay attention.
Oftentimes she was told that she had no life worth living (given that she was mute and signed to speak, or wrote what she wanted to say down) and that she should just 'go die'. At the age of fifteen she made an attempt to kill herself after a boy she liked asked her out and proceeded to humiliate her in public. This particular boy had decided that it would be a good idea to videotape her trying to be sexy, and post it onto the web.
She was hospitalized for five months, in isolation with therapy everyday. She made two more attempts while in the hospital, and that is what earned her those extra months. When she was released, her mother stuck her in a boarding school in Florida, choosing to ignore her daughter's needs and issues.
At the age of seventeen, two weeks from her eighteenth birthday, her ability manifested. She was getting ready to sleep, and like always, she was dressing the doll that one of her sisters' had given her in it's pyjamas, when a voice spoke out -- the voice spoke what she was thinking. She dismissed this as her hearing things and proceeded to go to bed.
Later that night, she woke to get water from the bathroom tap, only to find her doll was gone. As she went to get herself a glass of water, she found Oisa -- moving, filling up a paper cup with water.
On the day of her eighteenth birthday, she was picked up by a man, who had not bothered meeting with her parents -- she was eighteen and therefore an adult. This is also the day that she chose to change her name to something she thought fit her more -- Marionette.
ADULTHOOD:
Her arrival to the Academy has left her confused, and scared. She often spent her days alone in her room, reading books or just really doing all that she could to avoid thinking about what had happened to her. Eventually she was moved from isolation, after multiple therapy sessions, and allowed into the general public.
Now, she is still skittish and quite easily scared when it comes to interacting with others. She tries to keep her ability a secret (and therefore tends to communicate with pen and paper) because she fears that people will take Oisa from her.
SAMPLE:
Cosette had jerked backwards when the shot was fired, her sister was there, on the floor... and this man, this rich, rich man was clutching his knee. She pursed her lips as she moved around the desk, shoving Tobias' chair backwards so that she could crouch between the desk and him.
As she gazed at the wound, she murmured, "I am calling 911." She settled on the desk and reached for the phone, gazing quietly at the man. "Looks like you got injured after all, Tobias." She offered a soft, wistful smile.
"Put pressure there." She demanded softly, as an operator answered the line. "Two ambulances please. Send them to Living Dolls Hospital, their doctor is Cosette Reynolds." She paused, staring at the man quietly.
As she settled the phone into the cradle, she sighed gently at Tobias, and moved to lean over the desk, quiet unladylike, and reach for Anastasia. She pulled the other girl upright, it was not like her sister did not weigh anything; but the girl was light, and Cosette was running on adrenalin, fighting the urge to lose it.
As she cradled Anastasia against her form, after settling appropriately against the desk once more, she runs her fingers against her temple. Cosette peers at Anastasia's eyes, biting her lower lip.
