The holidays were over and the semester was beginning again. Classes had not started yet and most of the students were not even back yet. But Cash Hunter was. He returned to the academy earlier this time around. After settling in his dorm, he dashed over to the cafeteria for some much needed food. Even if he had not been using his power, the boy was constantly hungry.
After his business with his tummy was settled, they boy got to work. He ran over to the laundry room where he was told that the things he needed was stashed. True enough, it was there. Taking the basket of two week old gym socks and toilet paper, Cash made it to a classroom as quickly as he could. Once inside the unsurprisingly unlocked clean classroom -- pity the janitor who would have to clean after his mess -- he placed the basket on the table and tried not to gag.
"Ugh, that's nasty," he muttered as he eyes the basket and put on a pair of gloves. He came prepared alright. Following the instructions he was given, Cash placed the stinky gym socks in the teacher's desk drawers, and one under each table. Then with his speed, he tp-ed the whole room.
Chuckling, he stared at his handy work.

Morrigan hadn't quite seen the guy. She assumed he was invisibility or something. But then she snuck up to the window and watched as the room was TP'ed so quickly. Superspeed. Huh. A troublemaker. Now generally Morrigan was all for that, but she wasn't feeling it today. She smirked and then manipulated every shadow in the school hallway into the room he was in, plunging it into shadow. Covered the windows in shadow so that the room was dark. It wasn't pitch black by any stretch, but it was very dark. And then she walked into the room.
"Why? It seems so pointless and stupid when there's so many better things to do."
How strange. He had been sitting on the desk and staring at the tp'ed room when suddenly the room fell into darkness. Cash knew for sure it was too early for the sun to set. The day was still bright when he started on what he did.
So there were two possible reason he could think of for the sudden darkness. Either a, a huge gigant monster had graced the school with its presense and cast a shadow over the school or b, there was a shadow and/or darkness manipulator in his midst. True enough, he figured it was the latter when he heard the voice.
Cash pinpointed the owner of the voice near the classroom entrance. However, it was too dark for him to see her. "Ah, I'd get something out of this. That's better than nothing." He chuckled. "So what's with the dark? Hiding behind it? Wait no, don't tell me you're one of those insecure ones who lives in the shadows. Literally," he teased.

She snorted and rolled her eyes, but kept up the shadow. She wasn't feeling nearly as menacing but hey, a girl could still keep up appearances.
"What is WITH people thinking that living in the shadows makes me insecure? I mean I've killed a man for pete's sake! Cloaked in darkness! I'm supposed to seem like a MENACE." She sighed.
"And what is it you get out of TPing a classroom? Relief for constipation? I mean come ON."

In the dark, there was not much the boy could do except for remaining where he was and listened to the girl like voice. His eyes could not see they way she looked so his mind decided to paint one itself.
At first he thought of a small petite woman. But that image was quickly thrown away when she told him she had killed before. Huh. It could just be a story but the exasperation in her voice made him thought otherwise. "Oh yeah? To a non mutant, maybe this'd seem menacing. If that's any consolation."
His fingers drummed on the wooden table. "Sugar, you can say it was...a favor for a friend of a friend," Cash put simply. He was surprised the girl had not inquired about the stench. From where he was, the smell of the two week old gym socks was disgusting.

"Non-mutants are scum not worthy of breathing the same air as those who are genetically superior. I don't give a damn what they think of me. However, my whole clan cast me out because of fear I'd turn on them too, so I'd say non-mutants have a bit to fear of me as well." She smirked, and then the smell hit her nose.
"Oh HELL TO THE NO what did you do? TP with USED toilet paper?"

Cash quirked an eyebrow up in amusement as the girl talked about her distaste for non mutants. Well, of course in the dark she most probably could not see his expression. So the boy was only smiling to himself like a fool. He found amusement in that as well.
And then when she finally registered the stinky smell, the boy could not help but laugh out loud. "Well took you long enough sugar." He wondered how she looked now. "Used toilet paper? Never thought of it. But you know what, I just might. I know a pranker and I think she'd have a ball with this idea. Especially since she manipulates gravity, she can do the dirty work." Cash let out another laugh. A new prank was already forming in his mind. "But sorry to tell you it's just dirty old gym socks." He paused a minute before continuing, "So from what you said earlier, are you power hungry sweetheart?"

"Manipulates gravity...oh wow Poppy totally would." She chuckled thinking about it. Then she felt a trickle and reached up to her nose. Blood. Too much power use. She let the shadows go and do as they pleased. This guy wasn't going to really hurt her she could tell. He was a prankster at heart.
"Maybe a little power hungry, but mostly it's just fun. I don't know exactly why. It just...kind of feels like it fits. Can't explain it."
Before he could say anything, the shadows that filled the room slowly slipped away. There we go, he thought to himself as a smirk split his face. Once the light flitted back into the stinky tp'ed classroom, Cash Hunter slowly turned his head to face the stranger who had joined him.
The smirk on his face grew only bigger when he realized he was right. She was a girl. "Oh, you know her?" His eyebrow arched in questioning. He wondered how Poppy had gotten mixed up with a supposed killer. Trust her to have odd friends.
"You like the rush, adrenaline, thrill it gives don't you honey?" Cash nodded in understanding. His super speed only enhanced his passion for running. "I get it. I'm Cash. What about you, sweetie?"

"First of all, don't call me sweetie it's annoying as hell and feels like you're talking down to me. I'm Morrigan. I have a name now use it." She arched an eyebrow and put a hand on her hip.
"And I don't know. Part of me is warring for me to not to do the thing, and then a larger part is growling at me that I'm not already doing it. I didn't used to be like this when I was a kid. I was all about helping people. But I think my powers skewed my moral code. That's the excuse I use anyways. And yeah, I know Poppy. We snuck out of the dorms on the same night and caught each other in the kitchen. She was a little wuss at first but that faded." Morrigan grinned.
"Ha! Really?" It seemed the the girl was not swayed by Cash's little nicknames he so often used. He liked he challenge. "And how is sweetie condescending? I know, you're one of those girls who don't like nicknames, huh?" Chuckling, he shook his head.
He listened intently as Morrigan spoke. What she said about her powers affecting her moral code got Cash thinking. "Wait, wait. Are you saying because you can manipulate shadows and darkness, so you give yourself that as a reason to "join the dark side" literally?" he said with air quotes and laughed. "That's lame, sweet-- Morrigan." The boy flashed her an innocent smile.
"Oh you're the friend she was with. She mentioned something about it. Didn't you guys have to clean the school or something?" Glancing at the state of the room, the smirk was back on Cash's face. "Are you on cleaning duty now, Morrigan?"
Post by Morrigan LaFayette on Jan 5, 2016 2:21:34 GMT -6
"Quit thinking you know me, asshole. And quit talking like you're God's gift to woman. I was figuring out power control while you were still in diapers. And the shadow manipulation doesn't give me a reason. It MAKES me a part of the dark side." Poppy and cleaning duty.
"Nope not on cleaning duty. Finished that a while back. Honestly, I'm surprised you're friends with Poppy. Generally she has such good taste. But I suppose there's the possibility of an exception with all things." Morrigan shrugged.
"Oh honey, I'm a gift to the world," he said with a far off look. That was probably not true but the vain bastard liked loved to think the world revolved around him. Sure that sounded very conceited but who was going to adore him if he did not adore himself? Maybe it was just a tad bit too much. But Cash Hunter was not bothered. He was not looking for someone to love more than he did to himself.
The next thing Morrigan said got the boy putting a hand over his heart and giving her an exaggerated look of hurt. "Oh sweetie you have wounded my pride." The boy smirked. His choice of word to call her by was not just a matter of a slipped of the tongue. "What ever will I do now?"
Post by Morrigan LaFayette on Jan 6, 2016 3:43:53 GMT -6
Used sweetie again. Morrigan sighed. And then the faked drama. What HADN'T been faked was this guy's 'gift to the world' thing. Morrigan was inwardly horrified to realize the guy really did think he was God's gift. Oh Lord she really didn't want to have to deal with this guy. She was named after the Celtic god of the underworld and had killed someone and even SHE wanted to get as far away from this poser as humanly possible. Or...not human. She was a mutant. This had to be a perk, right? Mutants were better, so she could get further away from him than a mere mutant...right? She shook her head.
"Wow what a douche. I generally don't like snitching but holy cow I'm telling a teacher you did this in a heartbeat. Get bonus brownie points AND get you out of my hair? Sounds like a dream."
The boy cocked an eyebrow up in amusement. "A douche? Can't say that's original," he replied simply and shook his head.
"Are you really going to tell on me?" When was the last time someone ratted Cash Hunter out? Too long to remember. He was actually quite curious as to how the rest of their interaction would play out. Would she really tell. If so, then what would the boy do.
He was a smart kid and was good with the teachers. Whilst he may pull pranks on them, it was mostly because someone had paid him to do so. But if he did get caught for this, he doubted it would even be a big punishment.
Pushing himself of the desk, he walked nearer to where Morrigan was standing. The tall boy towered over her. "Who are they going to believe? A killer or the well rounded student?"
