Luc Quinten Arthur
FACE CLAIM: Austin Butler.

AGE: 22
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: Local - Photographer
NICKNAMES: None, Pronounced as "Luke"POWER: Substance MimicryLuc can absorb and mimic the physical properties of any solid substance touched. His ability allows a sort of a “halfway” process, in which his skin takes on the properties of a substance. With the acquired material replacing his skin, his body parts are still fully functional and everything internal stays the same. Due to the different weights of the acquired substances, Luc has stronger muscles than the average human that triggers when his starts to absorb. However, the more the material spreads, the heavier or lighter he becomes and it does start to take it's toll. Also, depending on how far he wants the material to spread, Luc needs to be touching the substance long/short enough to get the process flowing at just the correct speed. The process is a lot like a rapidly growing vine. The substance being mimicked continues to grow even after being touched. The longer he holds his contact with the substance, the farther and faster it will mimic.
LIMITATIONS:Luc needs to have touched an example of the substance at hand in order to mimic it. His body is not able to "remember" substance he had touched before. In order for his entire body to mimic the substance, both legs and arms need to be touching it, for the fastest outcome. Technically, Luc could stand at a metal pole and sit their for five minutes as he waits for the material to spread across his entire body and up to his neck. Although, the process can handle itself from there, only the skin is altered and everything under the skin (muscles, tissue, blood) stays the same. His eyes are also not affected by the mimicry. The ability has been shown to only mimic solid substances and rejects liquids and gases. However, if a flaming coal were to be mimicked, fire is able to be produced from the skin. Luc cannot control how long the experience stays. An hour tops his record time before the properties start to fade and his skin reappears in spots.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Lightheadedness
- Tingly Sensation As The Substance Wears Off
- His Veins Often Turn Black Throughout Where The Substance Was Mimicked
- Blackened Veins Sometimes Cause Blood Clots With Causes Extreme Pain [Medical Attention, Vaccination Cure]
Luc Arthur was born on Nov. 5, into St. Mary's Adoption Home for Boys. Hugo and Lena Arthur, a lawyer and a nurse, had just recently immigrated to America from a small town right outside of Paris, France. The two exuberant newlyweds were ready to adopt a fresh, new, American lifestyle. After getting settled in with work and whatnot, the two decided they were ready for a child. Hugo and Lena Brian had tried to have a child of their own, but with Michelle's M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) the doctor had warned them that giving birth would speed up the muscle deterioration. Not wanting any more harm to come to Lena, Hugo quickly signed them up for an adoption opportunity. They waited for months, on edge, waiting for a child to pop up. Then, on any other day the couple received a message that a new baby had been born. Blonde haired and blue eyed, the little infant was irresistible. The agency had notified them that he'd been given to them and his mother was a heavy drug user, knocked up by her boyfriend, and just wasn't able to care for the child. With open arms, the immigrants welcome their new son, Luc Arthur, to the family. Named after Hugo's father before him, Luc had high expectations for his life.Growing up, Luc was forced to learn English and French at the same time. He reluctantly learned to be fluent in both, but the two were as strict as it got when it came to speaking French in the house. They allowed little to no English, which grew frustrating as Luc grew up. After his adoption, there were no more children to reside in their small town home outside the big city of San Francisco. As upper class Californians, the family had little to no financial issues of any kind. Both parents had steady, well-paying jobs and high expectations for Luc's future. From infancy to around twelve years old, Luc still gave his father hope for his success. Though, you can't really determine a child's destiny at the age of twelve anyways. It wasn't until he hit middle school when Luc's interest in school dropped along with his grades. It wasn't like they dropped to fails; it was just that Hugo expected straight A's. Luc was averaging a B- at best. His parents would constantly nag about how huge college was and how he'd never get in to somewhere good with those kinds of grades.Luc knew he could never live up to their expectations for him. At that point he just kind of gave up and just put in enough effort to pass his classes. Luc's problem was that he never found an interest or something he felt he was really good at. Sports were never really his thing; school was a whole other story. However, he always kind of had an interest in art and things of that sort, but Hugo blocked out everything outside of what he thought was best for his son. This frustration led to Luc shutting down and acting out. Hugo and Lena had no idea what to do with this mellow, easygoing child that they had on their hands. His lack of drive and motivation collided with Hugo's hard working and determined personality. It was the summer after eighth grade when Lena and Hugo decided that they weren't going to put up with his lack of effort and passive aggressive ways. When high school came, they had planned to lay down the law. The only problem with their little plan was Luc manifested before he ever made it to Union Bay High School. It was a hot summer night and Luc had been called to dinner. He had been watching his favorite television show and blocked out his mother's call to the table. Angered by his idle sitting and disrespect, his father rushed over to the family room ripped the remote from his hand and clicked the device off. This was really the last straw. For the entire summer Luc had been sitting on his ass doing nothing."Get your little ass to the table like your mother - " He trailed off out of anger. He bent down and grabbed the collar of Luc's shirt. Hugo dragged his to the wooden dining table and threw him into an open seat.Luc didn't expect the whole ordeal until it was in full motion and he felt himself slam into the chair. A rush of emotions filled him and he gripped the table with his left hand to keep himself upright. All of a sudden he felt a rush he couldn't explain climb up towards his elbow. When he looked down, his skin had absorbed the exact same wood qualities from the table and the substance seemed to replace his skin. First at the fingers and then it slowly grew towards his forearm the longer he held on.Utterly shocked with a mix of terror, he released his grip and Hugo stood in awe as Lena scream with fright. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR HAND?" She managed to scream. Some of her words came out in French, some in English. The couple had once again, no idea what to do. Lucy just sat there memorized as he examined his hand. With the other, he knocked on it and saw that it was just as solid as the table in front of him."Amazing." He whispered. "How is this even possible?" The couple ignored him and grabbed his free arm, dragging him to their car. Leather seats lined the interior and Luc grabbed the edge of the seat with his free hand. The boy tried to block out his parent's excessive chaos and imagine the same thing happen to his other hand. After a second or two the same, strange sensation returned as the leather crept up his skin. This caused more insanity and screaming as he showed his parents what had just occurred. "Guys, look!" Lena did some more screaming as they sped down the highway to the nearest emergency room.Someone had made a call or something because within 30 minutes, the recruiters showed up. Luc's parents were confused and sad to see their child go off to Montana. They explained how he was a mutant and the 'X' gene was probably from his biological mother.Luc then started his high school years at Bellefonte with ease. He loved being around other mutants and his grades slightly improved. Luc socialized as he pleased but didn't go out of his way to meet people. He joined few clubs and sports but took up boxing freshmen year. His boxing career lasted all throughout high school. He won the most tournaments without his powers and got his name and senior year's winning belt put up in the high school.Graduation rolled around and Luc decided that college wasn't for him. His parents were enraged and telling them was a disaster. All of his funds were cut off and he was basically disowned. That's the shorten version; short and sweet. Out of spite, Luc got two arm tattoos. [ LEFT // RIGHT ] Now a free bird, Luc needed a job to support his basic needs. He had taken up photography sophomore year when he found an old film camera in a pawnshop right outside of Kalispell. Intrigued, he bought it and started planning around and developing his own film. He naturally learned fast and his photos were quite amazing. He usually shot in black in white or extremely saturated colors. He loved photography and it became an outlet for his artistic passion. After senior year he decided to become a freelance and sell his work. He was willing shoot all kinds of different things just to get paid. Hugo and Lena were furious at the idea and repeatedly told him how his work wasn't good enough to make it. Of course, that just pushed Luc to work even harder and push rather away from the idea of college.Anyways, now homeless and penniless, Luc does odd jobs and sleeps in his cramped, little car waiting for opportunities or someone to pick up on his work.
