Chloe Sarah Winters
FACE CLAIM: Brooke 'Dodger' Lawson
---------------------------------
AGE: 23
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
POSITION: Photographer/Photography College Student
POWER: Fox Shifting and Physiology.
Shifting: Chloe has the ability to take on the form of different species of fox, she just needs to picture the fox she wants and spend 60 seconds or so focusing to begin a shift, which takes around another minute. As of now the only breeds of fox she has actually tried to transform into are Vulpes lagopus (Artic), Vulpes Vulpes (Red) and Vulpes Verda (Fennec). In theory, she could transform into more types of fox, but it takes her a great deal of time learning things about them, observing them and practicing before she can make these shifts feel natural, and considering it took her around 10 years of practice to get as far as she is a significant time investment would be needed.
Physiology: Chloe is able to adopt individual characteristics of the breeds of fox that she is able to shape shift into often by accident, including body parts to go along with these and any advantages or disadvantages that go along with these. For example, she could adopt the eyes of a fox, along with appropriate advantages and disadvantages. She could do this with other aspects, such as canines, tail, ears, ect. She also occasionally adopts parts of their metabolism and general biology, such as the need to hibernate.
LIMITATIONS:
Full shifts:
-Chloe can stay in her full shifted form for as long as she likes, until she shifts back, however she can only do a full shift twice a day, three times at a push. And every subsequent shift in a 24 hour period wears her out increasingly more and more.
-While in this form her senses are that a fox, so she has extremely effective low light vision, and receives images at twice their normal intensity, if someone were to shine a light near her eyes the reflection would cause it to appear as if they were glowing green, similar to the way that cat's photo receptors work, further her hearing and sense of smell are more potent than that of a human.
Physiology:
-Chloe can do partial shifts multiple times a day, between 4 and 6 depending on the part, for example the tail is extremely easy and untaxing for her to do, so is very quick to do and relatively comfortable. Whereas eyes are much more difficult to do.
-As mentioned above, she has the senses of a fox when adopting the appropriate characteristics, though less potently than if she were in a full shift.
-As for the physiological components, such as the want to hibernate, these are mostly unintentional and require some serious energy and focus to force aside, otherwise she'll just spend most of winter sleeping, as a result Chloe tends to be much more playful and full of energy in the warmer months of the year than the colder.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
-Full shifts become increasingly uncomfortable, and can leave her feeling completely exhausted if she attempts them too many times in the same day, causing her to sleep for extended period of time, and experience muscle fatigue as if she had been performing an intense work out.
-Especially since the advent of the SPRITE virus, Chloe tends to experience the physiological side effects and partial shifts much more often, and by accident than she had previously. She often now wakes up with an extra pair of fuzzy ears or a tail, and is usually too sleepy to address this for some of the morning.
-Partial shifts can have negatives too, for example if bright lights are shined near her eyes in full shift or even just with her eyes while they are shifted it can cause her intense discomfort and headaches.
-A lot of the physiological components themselves, including the need for an increased volume of sleep, less or more food at certain times of the year, ect.
HEIGHT: 5 Feet, 2 inches.
HAIR COLOR: She is naturally a brunette, though her hair is almost always dyed different colours, though she does use natural hair dyes as to not damage her roots. Her hair can be anywhere from green to bright pink at any given time.
EYE COLOR: Blue, this is one of the few aspects that never changes in her fox shifts, leaving her looking unusual for a fox.
MISC: A small "חַי", the Hebrew word for "alive" on her upper back, and a series of 5 linked gears on the right side of her torso.
PERSONALITY: Chloe is a very energetic and playful soul, she's friendly to most people, but not afraid to get aggressive or sassy if she dislikes someone or thinks that they are being unreasonable and or a jerk. She's very artistically minded, loving to make things from scratch and also to draw, cook, bake and most importantly her photography.
She has always been very into freedom of expression and all kinds of art forms, she's a heavily indulged gamer who isn't afraid to throw around the standard online toxicity and cussing, even if it is far from her standard behavior.
She can be extremely talkative and open when she desires to be, and at other times following a slightly more shy demeanor particularly when she is in unfamiliar social situations. And she can also be very openly flirtatious with anybody she think is attractive, preferring people who have a particular style about them, or people who enjoy a wide range of colours generally speaking.
SECRET(S):
FATHER: Johnathan Deckard
MOTHER: Lucy Winters
SIBLINGS: None.
WORTHY MENTIONS: A small white kitten named Chaos.
CHILDHOOD: Chloe had a relatively normal upbringing and childhood, not having anything too out of the ordinary happen to her. Her parents actually had her by accident, and never stayed together as their romance was more of a fling for fun than anything else, yet still remained on good terms for the rest of Chloe's life as far as she was ever aware.
Despite the fact that she was not planned, both of her parents loved her very much, and spent as much time as they could when she was staying either either of them, helping cultivate a lot of her bigger habits that she would keep for the remainder of her life and generally helping to shape her into a friendly young girl with a very positive outlook on life in general.
ADOLESCENCE: Particularly into adolescence Chloe's life began to take shifting into shaping her personality and likes and dislikes for the rest of her life, she started to explore options a lot more, she had her first boyfriend. Her first crush on a girl. And shortly before she turned 13, she had the first manifestation of her power. Which funnily enough, started off like a dream. She woke up with a red foxes tail.
Luckily for the young girl it wasn't very long at all until the academy caught wind of her and picked her up, it took around 8 stress filled days before the representatives finally showed up. Her mother moved herself closer to the academy so that on weekends that the academy permitted, or school holidays she was able to stay with her, and also see her father whenever he visited them.
Unlike a lot of the other young, fresh students to attend Bellefonte academy, Chloe found herself very at home. She found a lot of the teachers and other students very open and accepting, so quickly made a great deal of friends and explored her sexuality, and artistic styles. Also spending a lot of time working on her power, becoming comfortable with it and developing an adoration of foxes.
ADULTHOOD: Chloe managed to get an internship at a local newspaper through a teacher she had always gotten on fairly well with and began working there, finding the environment very enjoyable. She particularly enjoyed getting on with the staff that worked with all of the pictures at the paper. She quickly built a rapport with them and especially after they discovered her talent for photography she joined them.
Chloe spent the next few years of her life working with them and generally enjoying herself. Around the time that SPRITE hit however, her power started going haywire, and she had to take time off work, and spent more time up at the academy, where she spoke to a few old teachers and eventually ended up deciding to study for a degree in photography as a mature student.
Chloe is now in her second year of her degree, still working part time with the paper and enjoying herself, occasionally observing and photographing the interesting sites around campus, as well as keeping an eye on the gorgeous maintenance worker who maintained the campus on night shifts.
