VICTORIA JADE DEVEREUX
FACE CLAIM: Marie Avgeropoulos
---------------------------------
AGE: Twenty Five (November 5)
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Demisexual
POSITION: French Teacher
POWER: Body ImmobilizationVictoria has the ability to freeze (not physically freeze) people in space in their position. She can immobilize (freeze) a target in their current state/position in space. She can freeze them completely or partially (motor and/or cognitive). This leaves the target unable to utilize any motor function. If cognitive functions are frozen as well the target would not recall the event and it skips over the time they were frozen in time according to their perception of things.
LIMITATIONS:
- Can only effect humans.
- The effect always wear off…eventually (usually within five to fifteen minutes depending on contact or not).
- Can only use up to six times per day. If used back to back side effects can occur.
- Can only effect up to two targets at one time, the smaller the target (i.e. children) can effect up to four at one time.
- Some targets may be immune.
- She isn’t immune to others with the same or similar power.
- Best results through contact (effects last longer around fifteen minutes).
- Sometimes awareness is maintained by a frozen individual, though they remain immobilized.
- Can only be used with a certain hand gesture, her mind channeling her power through the gesture. For contact, the hand gesture needs to be made before contact (therefore, if she touches someone without utilizing the gesture the effect does not occur).
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Headaches are the most common side effect. The more she uses it the more she is prone to them.
- If she overuses her power it can cause serve migraines and nosebleeds.
- Every time she uses her ability it drains some of her energy. She always keeps energy and protein bars on hand.
- If she consistently uses her power (i.e five times a day for three days straight) it causes her mind to backfire and reboot causing herself to freeze for up to three hours, during which she is completely aware of.

No tattoos. No scars. Just her ears are pierced. Victoria tends to dress in a way that is comfortable yet fashionable. She likes to look her best, and in fact prides herself on that. However, she would never wear or do anything that would jeopardize her comfort. With that being said, she has a sheek look and is fond of boots. All kinds of boots, but has a preference for her favorite knee high black leather boots. Her wardrobe tends to be on the darker side. Black and blood red being amongst her favorite colors. She also wears a necklace that Josephine gave her for her tenth birthday. She never takes it off.
PERSONALITY:Overall, Victoria is determined, passionate, and blunt. She thinks she is better than everyone and has no qualms about making people aware of that fact. She can come across as condescending and has no problem speaking the truth. She finds most people annoying and doesn't think anyone is really with her time. She uses her power frequently when she wants an easy out from a situation. Despite her childhood she feels that she has worked extremely hard for everything she has and if it wasn't for that she'd be out on the streets without a dime to her name.
Victoria likes:Money. Power. Knowledge. Boots. Chocolate.
Victoria dislikes:Most people. Wasting her time. Being called spoiled.
Victoria can be positively described as:Determined and forceful.
Emotional and intuitive.
Powerful and passionate.
Victoria can be negatively described as:Jealous and resentful.
Compulsive and obsessive.
Secretive and obstinate.SECRET(S):
Not many people know her first name the exception being her father and nanny. Most refer to her as Miss. Devereux or simply as Miss.
FATHER: Victor Devereux
MOTHER: Amelia Tremblay
SIBLINGS: None
WORTHY MENTIONS: Josephine Fournier (Nanny/Housekeeper), Louis Bouchard (Assistant)
CHILDHOOD:Victoria’s childhood was short lived. From the moment she was able to walk and talk her nanny had strict instructions in how to raise her. That didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy herself. She was given anything she wanted and needed within the blink of an eye. She was born and raised in the outskirts of Quebec. Her father was the CEO of some company he started when he was eighteen. He was something of a self-made millionaire. She had a whole floor in their home to herself. Her nanny was with her every day from the moment she woke up until she went to bed. The only time she was allowed to see her father was at dinner time, but even then there was not much in the ways of communication. Growing up she was home schooled and had always down very well at a young age. She learned to speak French and English. Always wanting to excel and go far and beyond what was required of her. She was determined to gain the praise and respect from her father.
Josephine was her only friend. She was for all intents and purposes her mother. As the years went on her father began visiting her more often, giving her his own words of wisdom. Unbeknownst to her it was during this short yet frequent visits that molded her into who she would be later on. Josephine would try to counter act the poison she heard Victor teach his young daughter but it was already too late.
ADOLESCENCE:It was on her tenth birthday when everything that Josephine had been working hard to discourage kicked in and came back full force with no chance of it changing. The nanny had gotten Victoria her favorite Oreo fudge cake that she had ever year. Her father had just arrived and the two of them began singing happy birthday. As soon as they finished the song Victoria closed her eyes to make a wish. It was the same wish she made every year: to spend a little bit more time with her father. As soon as the last candle went out her father immediately turned around to leave. She screamed, wanting her father to stay just for a little bit longer, as she always did. The only difference was this time he didn’t move. He stayed. Not because he wanted to, but because he couldn’t move. Eyes filled with fear and curiosity she walked over to her father who was completely still.
After a few minutes he was able to move. Completely fascinated by what had just occurred. Within a few days people showed up at their door and explained everything to them. She was sent to the Academy of Acton Vale, but with some push from her father and some hefty donations it had been arranged that Victoria could remain living at home. They had wanted her there full time to help train and teach her especially since she had manifestation so young. She detested it. She wanted to be home. She had never gone to an actual school and as far as she was concerned she wanted to keep it that way.
As the years went on her father began taking much more interest in her. He no longer felt the need for Josephine and wanted to get rid of her. It was because of Victoria that she was able to keep her job. Her father disproved and felt as though she was confusing Victoria with her own beliefs. It had been put into her head at a young age that she was better than most people, but after her powers develop her father etched it in her brain even more. She was far more superior and her powers just proved that. He would tell her what caused it was her determination, passion and power that allowed her powers to develop to finally get what she wanted: her father’s attention. He explained how those qualities were what allowed him to get where he was today, a very rich and powerful man.
When she was sixteen Victoria had bounced between school and home, although most of her studies and training were taught at her home. Her father had paid off many of the trainers and teachers to get them to come to her instead. She excelled in her training and academics and was proving to be far more valuable than her father had previously thought. On her off time he began showing her his job, allowing her to see the secrets of his company. It was during this time alone she finally asked something that had been on her mind recently. Where was her mother? His face was unchanged, his demeanor sharp and cold. He explained how he never wanted children, he felt there was no need for them and they would be more of a burden of his time and money more than anything else. It was by accident that she was born. He told her about her mother. A pretty blonde with blue eyes that he had hired to clean his office. It didn’t take long for one thing to lead to another and eventually she got pregnant. He had offered to pay for the abortion but her mother refused. Amelia he said her name was. She didn’t want money or anything. She’d have his child and she’d leave him completely out of it. So they agreed on that. Unfortunately, there was complication during delivery and she had passed away just after giving birth. After hearing the news he had gone to the hospital to claim her in hopes it was a boy who could carry on his name and company. In disappointment he took her but still chose to give her his name.
Victoria had taken the news strangely well. She had never known her mother, so the story didn’t really affect her much. She was just glad to know the truth behind her life. It certainly explained her father’s behavior more than anything else. She accepted it and thanked him for being honest.
ADULTHOOD:When she was eighteen she had successfully completed the academy. With no interest in going to college she had wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps, however, wanting to make a name for herself. It was when the Academy burned down that she had an inkling of what she may wanted to do. Her father was a businessman, and although she knew the ins and outs of his company and she could easily start up her own and do the same she wanted something different. She wanted her own success story, no to be hindered by her father’s shadow. She not only donated money to the school but also agreed upon an investment. With that money it helped rebuild the school and allow for its students to continue with their education there. She’d on occasion teach some business classes to the select student’s she deemed worthy enough to be graced by her presence, time, and knowledge. Although, to her, no one was really worthy. But she had to start somewhere.
During her spare time she began making strategic investments to most would seem random. But she had a bigger plan that she was working on, and whether he’d like to admit it or no. She knew one day her father’s beloved company would fall into her lap. Right where she want it.
The fact the mutants were now a worldwide known fact did not scare her. She quite enjoyed it honestly, and the fact that humans were coming together to fight the mutants just confirmed the thought that most didn’t dare say: that mutants were far superior. Intrigued in the whole mess she decided to take a trip to where it began. Kalispell, Montana. More specifically, Bellefonte Academy.
At the age of twenty-five, she has recently made the move and taken upon herself the positon as a teacher. Choosing French over business due to the fact that she assumed there would be less students taking a French class than business. Business seemed to be what most American’s were into nowadays. Thinking it was an easy A, which are no such things in her classroom. Determined to make a name for herself she hopes to find what she had come for, keeping her identity and past hidden, not wanting anyone to find out who or why she is really there.
