PERSONALITY: A little sheltered, Gabriel grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has an entitled air to him that he’s actually quite ashamed of. He would often find himself in situations where his naivete of the real world gets him in trouble. That being said, he is quite generous and wouldn’t hesitate to help out a friend though he does believe money solves everything.

Though genuinely charming, Gabriel does give off a sense of standoffishness and he does seem rather withdrawn when it comes to being personal. Having been burned a few times by the women in his life has not stopped him from being open to love and is always looking for the next girl to swoon over.

He has a temper that has resulted in past altercations that leave him bloodied and has landed him in jail quite a few times. He has tried to channel his anger into martial arts but he would like to have full control of it.

CHILDHOOD: Gabriel was a product of telenovela star Carla Gutierrez and entrepreneur Roberto Mendes. Though they paid due diligence as parents, Gabriel was raised by the staff and only seemed to see his parents on the weekends and holidays. He didn’t quite mind his parents absence mainly due to his close relationship with all three of his sisters and the maids and butlers he had growing up.

His parents flew him and his siblings all across the world since they were in diapers and by the time they were in middle school, Gabriel knew a lot more about other countries than he did his own backyard.

ADOLESCENCE: His manifestation came at the age of twelve and almost went undetected had it not been for a powerful tracker from the school that picked up on his rather subtle abilities. All of a sudden, his parents paid attention to him and sent the whole family packing and flying over to Kalispell so that they could be close to him. Being ripped away from friends caused a strain on the Mendes siblings and his eldest sister grew to resent him for being a freak.

It got so bad that his parents ended up asking him to live on campus and only come back on the weekends when his sister would fly off back home to stay with relatives. He tried his best to mend his relationship with his sister but she ended up marrying young and rarely visited the family in Kalispell after that.

His time at Bellefonte, though marred by his estrangement from his sister, suited him and he grew to love the academy, much to the surprise of his parents who had quite a hard time adjusting to life in the small town. They ended up moving back to Los Angeles, though Gabriel stayed behind to finish his term, still with his maid and butler keeping him company in the penthouse his parents left him with.

ADULTHOOD: He ended up continuing his studies in Bellefonte and interned as a recruiter while being an assistant coach to the self-defense class where he met his now best friend. Gabriel still laughs at how they met. He had already developed quite fully and this scrappy teen who was half his size had tried to bring him down during a session. He still teases Will about it even now.

After graduating with a minor in psychology and business management, Gabriel told his parents that he was going to stay in Kalispell. A lot of that had to do with Will but part of it had to do with the fact that he rather liked being a recruiter. He got to travel, meet new people, and help children who also had their sisters resent them for being a freak. He still visits his parents from time to time. His parents still have to schedule it so it didn’t clash with his sister’s visits but other than that, it was as normal as it could get.
