It had been almost 2 weeks since she gave birth. Since the police went to her house. Arrested her husband. But they couldnt do anything if she didnt procecute, which she didnt. She had gone back to her old ways, dark, thick clothing which covered the deep purple brusies which covered her neck and body. Th doctors thought she was crazy, but they didnt know to waht extent. All they could do was tell her to a shrink.
And the school made sure she went. A few of the teachers even escorted her to the guidance concollers office. They opened the door and pshed her inside, where she stood, head bowed, eyes focused on wedding ring on her finger.

Darcy's head shot up when she heard the door open and a woman was pushed into her office. She had wild blonde hair and wore dark clothes, eyes focused on... the ring on her finger.
"You must be Petra." They had told that they were sending her in today. Petra Davis-Shelley... A new mother whose husband was arrested for abusing her but had no charges against him. Gifted with the power to manipulate pain, she was a college student here at Bellefonte. "Please, sit down."
She was told that Petra was crazy. And according to the files she acquired, she had a history of... issues. Even now, she looked twitchy.
There's a lot going on with this girl.
"I'm Doctor Pearce." She kept silent to give the girl a chance to say anything--if she wanted to.

The young woman barely looks up, eyes never leaving her ring as she slumps down in the chair Darcy indicated to. She struggles to contain the usual shake of her hands, the effect of many drugs she took daily in an attempt to distance herself from the world. One hand went to caress her now flat stomach. She doesnt speak, silence engulfing her

Still so young. So broken. It was cruel that tragedy would strike such a young soul. But life never cared for age and that was the hard truth. That seemed to be one of the biggest problems Darcy had to face since working in the Academy. She had to deal with students and goodness knew their diverse pasts.
She eyed the hand on Petra's stomach. "How is the baby?"

Petra's fist clenched tightly at the mention of her baby. Her dead baby. Slowly she looked up, her pale eyes hard and unhuman. Its dead. Simple words which slips from her thin lips, her breath faultering.
Her whole body seems to tense, nails digging into her palms. Her gaze does not move from Darcy, their cold and almost dead look like daggers of ice. Why am I here?

The doctor knew this fact, of course. How could she not? It had been two weeks--it was included in Petra's files. Because she knew, she managed to keep a straight face at the reaction.
At least now she knew what could trigger the girl. Wrath and stress hormones oozed out of her, very nearly influencing Darcy. As cold as the glare she received, she pointedly jotted down the response in her notebook.

She watched as Darcy jotted something in her notebook. She clenched her hands together, breathing heavily. She bows her head again, letting her hair create a veil over her face. She went back to fiddling with the ring, gaze focused on it.
Her breath caught in her throat slightly at the mention of a brownie. God she loved brownies. Max never really let her have them though. So maybe just this once? She reached forward and took one, snatching it from the plate as if someone would take it from her. She leaned back in the chair and stuffed it into her mouth, the brownie gone in a matter of seconds.

She always dreaded it when someone felt any particular emotion strongly. It influenced her--and this time, she had just fought fire with fire. In the end she might just end up with only ashes. Petra didn't deserve that move--it plainly childish and bitter.
I'm in control of my side effects.
But brownies... Brownies were good. The chocolate in them should calm Petra somewhat. Darcy thought of the officers who were surely lurking outside, just in case anything went out of hand. Hopefully they didn't hear that little outburst.
"Please, help yourself. Why do you think you're here, Petra?"

The girl reached forward again and piled several brownies onto her hand, leaning back again and stuffing them into her mouth one by one hungrily. It was almost a rabid movement, air rushing form her nose as she breathed quicky between bites. She couldnt describe how hungry she was, how much she need to eat. Max never really let her eat that much.
She looke dup though her air and watched Darcy, swallowing her mouthful before speaking. "They think im crazy" She hissed before reaching forward and taking a few more brownies and shoving them into her mouth again. She must have been on her.... 5th, 6th brownie.

The doctor watched her eat hungrilygreedily. It was equal parts amusing, freaky, and worrying. Maybe slightly more on the worrying side. The layers of clothing made it almost unnoticeable, but she suspected Petra lacked malnourishment.
Intentional or not?
And when she hissed out her answer, Darcy fingered the ring on her finger. They had similar habits, it seemed. She let her finish what was in her hand first and wondered if she should point it out. She decided not.
She finally got the girl talking. She wouldn't want to lose what progress they had made--thougb it seemed minimal. "Do you agree?" she asked. "Why do you think you're here?"

Petra stuffed the final brownie into her mouth, swallowing hard, and reaching forward, before ppulling back at the empty plate. She then leaned back, fiddling with her ring and bowing her head. Her hands twitched gently, the soft shake her her limbs getting more visible. No. I dont agree. She hissed gently. IM in here because they think im crazy. She repeated.
She suddenly felt very sick, her stomach now filled with nothing but brownies, and a lot of them. She groaned, lifting her eyes to look desperatly around. She saw a small paper bin on the floor, and lept to her feet, racing over to it and dropping her her knees. She retched, and brought up the baked goods she had justed downed, coughing and spluttering.

She barfed out the brownies. That was a new reaction. But it happened when one eats too quickly on an empty stomach. The door burst open and an officer poked his head in. "All right there, Doc?"
"Yes, everything is under control." She waved a hand to dismiss him. Darcy calmly took out a small box of mints and presented it across the table, opening its lid. She set a box of tissues next to it. She waited for the other woman to sit back up before saying, "People are concerned for you, Petra. I don't think you're crazy, I think you've been through a lot--and not only recently. Am I right?"
