Off To A Good Home (Vera)

When Levi had found out that Luna was pregnant he was first shocked, and then estatic, but as it really sank it he became a bit overwhelmed and concerned. He didn't know how he would manage puppies on top of Axel and Luna, and being as that there was no guaranteed litter size made him a bit anxious. He prepared as best as he could, but when the day came when she had given birth nothing else had matter except the five beautiful puppies that were now on this planet.

During the first couple of weeks all he could think about was taking care of them, but as reality hit, he knew that they needed to go to good homes. He had considered working with Kalispell’s animal shelter, but knowing how many animals they were dealing with already he didn’t feel right with increased their work load. One thing was for sure. He wanted them to go to good homes. He had already spoken to his friends Ethan and Nik about what to do and very generously they both offered to take one. It was a great relief to know that he only had to worry about three more now. Not to mention, he’d be able to see the puppies anytime he wanted. Luna and Axel were not going to lose their babies permanently.

Word had gotten around the station and although Levi preferred to keep his personal life private he was reluctant to admit he was a bit relived. Especially when one of his co-worker’s wanted to adopt one. They had agreed to meet at the park. It was the one place he loved to bring his dogs. Like last time he left Luna home with the puppies and brought Axel and one of the boy puppies. He made his way over to his favorite spot under the tree while the puppy rolled around in the grass a couple of feet in front of him. He took a seat, resting his back against the trunk of the tree. He checked his watch briefly before looking at Axel, “Don’t worry. He’s going to a good home. I promise.” He gave Axel a pat on the head as he watched in admiration the little puppy playing in the grass.
