Well, this was new grounds for Bell….
The last few months hasn’t been kind to the pint sized teacher, well...to be fair the last few years hasn’t been kind to her, it was true she seemed to be going through something of a rough streak as of late. She was lucky to be still even have a job after what happened with the Bellefonte’s, she knew she had anger issues, not to mention a lot more issues that she bottled up. But she never knew she had that kind of anger in her….it just happened. That’s the only way she could describe it, she was talking….and then she was yelling. and the next thing she knew she was balling up his fist…...And then it happened.
..Nothing was the same after that day, she was very lucky she wasn’t fired but more or less she only left her just kind of numb inside...she couldn’t put her heart into teacher….
...Into anything really…..
This was the first time she’s even left the house in weeks and it was only because Reid practically forced her out of the door to this…..Whatever this was….Reid wasn’t saying, She guessed that Reid just wanted to meet her for lunch…

Levi looked at his watch before stepping into Cool Beans. He had only been here a grand total of two times in the five years he had been back to Kalispell. Today would count as the big three. He had never found a need to come here. He wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, and he felt there was no need to spend days inside a coffee shop when his time could be spent better off somewhere outside perhaps.
Nevertheless this is where Reid wanted to meet and as much as he wanted to object to his friend, he agreed to his boss. It was tricky now that she became Lieutenant. There was that weird line between work and friendship. He shrugged off the thought as he was about five minutes early from the time she gave him. He was to meet her and her roommate. Bell was her name. All Reid said was that she was a pretty redhead and she needed to get out and be more social.
The local stepped into the shop. The smell of coffee hit his nose immediately. Unsure of what was really going on he debated whether to order something or not. He didn’t want to get something ahead of everyone else, but at the same time he didn’t want to just come in and sit without getting something. Letting out a breath, he looked around hoping they were here already. There was no sign of Reid. Great.
His hazel eyes continued to scan the place for an empty seat. Something caught his attention. Red hair, bright red hair. Curious, he decided to walk over to the girl who was sitting alone. She looked as if she was waiting for someone also. Odd.
He approached he slowly, unsure if it was her or not. Stopping just a few feet in front of her he cleared his throat and gave a half smile in an attempt not to come off as weird. “I’m sorry to bother you. But is your name Bell by any chance?” He asked, already planning his escape.

Bell stood there checking her watch frowning just a little at it, Oh Reid, fashionably late as always it seemed, Bell shook her head trying to shake her head clear of her time rooming with Reid, She never seemed to be on time when Bell needed her to be at times she felt less like a room mate and more like a baby sitter but it was something she got used to, Reid was eternally easy going and Bell? Bell was most certainly not.
She thought that Reid got a fair amount of amusement out of that fact and the idea of making of blush….
She sat there in her chair debating would it be rude to get her book out of her bag to read while she waited, Well it wouldn’t make a lot of different in any case, it was less “Reading” and more “Re-reading” Alice in Wonderland, one of her favorite books. She found reading it had something of a calming effect on her, she knew everything word off by heart she’s read it so much but that’s why she turned to it with more and more these days. It was a comfort, it was familiar it was soothing to her, the words never changed, they were static. No matter how the world span or how insane the world got for her, the words never changed.
Bell took comfort in that….
Her thoughts were interrupted by quite a tall figure approached, her looking some what awkward, like Bell no doubt would be in the same situation, and Bell’s natural inclination to make people feel at ease simply wouldn’t allow that, tilting her head in polite curiosity her green eyes sparkling up at him a welcoming smile on her face before she pursed her lips in contemplation “Yes, I am actually, Have we met before? I’m terribly sorry I have the worse memory for faces…”

The time it took from the moment the last words left his lips to the moment she answered him only lasted a few seconds, but to Levi it felt like a few minutes. He was no stranger to making conversation with other people he didn't know. The only difference was that he was usually the one who was approached. He had only assumed it was Bell from Reid's description: a pretty redhead was what he recalled, and seeing as though she was the only redhead in the place and she was in fact pretty he was hopeful that he was correct. If he wasn't it would just make the situation more awkward, which he needed to figure out how to handle.
He watched patiently as she tilted her head. Luckily she spoke, and as she confirmed his suspicion he felt himself relax a bit. His smile grew in response to hers. She was pretty, Reid was right about that. It was the moment he caught her eyes that had him in awe. They were the brightest green eyes he had ever seen. Ever. They were absolutely breathtaking. He was lost in them. Such eyes, such beauty. He was a bit confused by her answer though. She was correct they had never met, but wouldn't Reid have told her that he was coming. She had told him that Bell was coming. Odd.
Instead of standing there for any longer than he had to, he shifted his weight before speaking, "No we haven't. I'm Levi." He said, extending his hand for her to shake. "I guess Reid didn't tell you I'd be coming huh?" He gave a smirk before glancing at her eyes one more time. Although he seemed to brush it off it was something that he could not understand why she'd leave that out. Why tell him about Bell, but not tell Bell about him? He checked his watch before pulling out the seat across from her. "Do you mind if I join you?"

He seemed quite shy, to say the very least. Bell could relate, it was a defining trait of hers when she was in high school, she tended to keep to herself during that time….Well, she was never a shy kid persay. She acted out a lot went through quite a rebellious phrase. One which Bell was more then happy to bury away like anyone who was embrassed by their teen years. She had done all she could to bury it. Any pictures of her in her high school days has been all but hidden away and or burned making sure they never saw the light of day…….Ever
Bell was often approached by shy people it was part of job after all she Bell tried to make people instantly at ease around her. It was important to be attentive her body language warm and welcoming and nod to encourage them to go on.
It often helped to smile, that put people at ease….
Without any hesitation Bell reached forward and gripped his hand with her soft warm hand shaking it tightly smiling at Levi “”Charmed I’m sure” She said a friendly wide grin on her face “I’m Bell….but of course you knew that already” Bell said frowning a little at his comment “No funny enough she didn’t….how strange, but join me won’t you? It’s terribly lonely to sit by myself...people probably think I’ve been stood up”

He didn’t understand why he felt so uncomfortable, perhaps it was the fact that he was expecting his boss any moment. Or perhaps it was the fact he was in a coffee shop he didn’t really like. At least now he had the company of a pretty girl to set him at ease a bit. It was better to have company than to be alone, but then again, he never really did care of what others would think. He was more concerned with blending in. If you were alone, people could notice. Why this train of thought was still with him he didn’t know. He no longer had to worry about people noticing him and it getting back to his parents somehow. Yet here he was, still entertaining the thought.
Levi returned with a soft shake. Her hand was warm and soft to the touch, while his was dry and hard. “It was a wild guess, but I’m glad I guessed right.” He gave a subtle nod of his head and took a seat across from her. He gave a smile, something he had been doing a lot more of lately. Things were finally falling into place for him. He had to almost thank his father for that, but he’d never dare.
The local leaned back in his chair, trying to get as comfortable as he could in a wooden chair. “Strange indeed. I’m sure she’ll be here soon.” He said, more so to reassure himself. He still did not understand any of this, but he gladly continued along with it. He checked his watch another time. It was ten past the time Reid had said she’d be here, and seeing as Bell was here Levi was sure he had gotten the time correct. He placed his hands on his laps, overlapping one to hide the watch. There was no need to keep looking at it anymore. She’d get here when she’d get here.
He smiled again, letting out a soft chuckle, “Yeah, well it’s lucky you got here first. If it would have been me I’d be the one sitting alone. You’d be looking for Reid and I’d be some creepy guy sitting in the corner.” He jested a smirk replacing his smile.

While Bell would be confused and somewhat taken aback by how Levi seemed to be uncomfortable, but happy that, hanging out with Bell brought a smile to his face, Bell herself knew that she may be needed company herself and it was nice to actually talk to someone after the rough few weeks she seemed to be having, plus Levi seems particularly friendly despite the fact that apparently Reid may have told him a tiny white lie….(Which of course Bell hoped wasn’t the case, she certainly wasn’t a fan of lying in any form whatsoever….)
Bell returned the handshake eagerly noting how hard and callous his hands seemed to be and she couldn’t help but come to the conclusion that there was a considerable amount of strength behind them,It reminded her of her own farther’s’ handshake where it felt less like he was shaking it and more like he was making a considerable attempt to crush her hand in his grip
Bell leaned up with pose and grace with her back straight as she swept her book off the table and put her hands intertwined in front of her.
“Oh Reid is eternally late I think you’ll find” She said airily checking her watch “I roomed with her for awhile….Morning to her is more or less 3 oclock she said shaking her head amused “I assume you work with her?”

Levi was still, ignoring how the chair felt against his back. This place should invest in some couches and maybe comfier chairs. Or perhaps it was intentional so people won’t stay long. Who knew? The local remained mindful of his surroundings while keeping his attention towards Bell. He was glad he had full view of the door and counter. If anything were to occur he’d be the first to see it. Until then his eyes remained on Bell. She seemed sweet and he couldn’t get over the color of her eyes.
His hazel eyes followed her movements as she took the book of the table. His interest was piqued, but he kept his question on hold while she was talking and had a question of her own. He let out a soft chuckle, “Yeah. Reid mention you two were roommates. I don’t know how you do it.” He said shaking his hands as his raised his hands slightly. He could only imagine what it would be like to live with Reid. Not only that, but a girl. He hadn’t lived with a girl since he was about seventeen. His mind began to fill up his apartment with candles and decorative pillows and small tchotchkes place strategically around his apartment. He shuddered at the thought.
Removing the thought from his mind he preceded to answer her question. “Yes I do. She’s sort of my boss.” He said smirking at the thought. She had the experience and time on her side, but he still had troubling dealing with the fact that he had to report to her. Male ego.
“Well, not sort of. She is.” He said to clarify, purposefully leaving out his own egocentric thoughts about the matter. Not really wanting to continue the conversation about Reid, someone who as more time passed he felt wasn’t actually going to show up at all, he brought forth the question he was thinking about early. “What book you go there?” He asked, gesturing to the one in her hands. He wondered if she was just as much as a book nerd as he was. He thought about his wall that he turned into a book shelf, well book wall really, and his frequent visits to A Novel Idea. He hadn’t bought a new book in a while. He needed to finish the one he was currently reading before doing so, but between work, exercise and Luna he was struggling to find the time to do so.

Bell, had something of a small talent when it came to uncomfortable chairs, she never let them get to her, She would just settle down in her chair in the most comfortable way she possibly could manage and took three deep breaths. Breathing in deeply through his nose. Holding in through her nose. and out softly through her mouth,, and repeat it several times, she found this more than a little soothing and she tended to just sink into the chair rather nicely, fortunately it wasn’t the least uncomfortable chair in the world and personally good company (Like Levi of course) Was a perfect cure for that. “Well…. It was...Bell paused trying to find the exact words to describe her experience, in naturally the most nice way she could put it, because she’s most certainly would never say anything truly bad about anyone despite how much Reid would play pranks on her…...Or walk around naked just to freak Bell out…..Or how much she would stumble home at such late hours “....An experience. She’s certainly an interesting person to live with…..she’s….A Handful, but once you get a handle on her, She really is quite fun to be around” Bell nodded rapidly.
Diplomat of the year: Bell Lilly Connelly.
Bell smiled a little in solidarity with Levi: “It’s hard to imagine her in a position of authority” After a beat she shrugged with somewhat of a sheepish smile “...and a little scary to be honest” She admitted. She could tell him stories…. “Oh, it’s nothing really” Bell muttered waving off his questions as it was nothing, revealing the cover of the book and it’s title “Do forgive me, I’m somewhat obsessed with the classics

Levi smiled at Bell as she tried to ever so nicely describe her living experience with Reid. “Well isn’t that kind of you to say.” He said, smirking. The way she had answered it was so…well thought out. Purposeful even. He could only image the things that Bell had seen or had gone through living with Reid. Not to mention her dogs too. Although, they were adorable.
He couldn’t help but chuckle. “It is a sight to behold. That’s for sure.” He couldn’t help but think if it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t have the job he does now. He was grateful for that. “Scary as it is. She’s really good at her job.” He added, knowing full well Reid was deserving of the compliment. It was the truth.
The local was no longer interested in Reid and her shenanigans. He focus was on Bell. More importantly how could someone like her being living with someone like Reid. It was obvious how drastically different they were. And although some people say opposites attract, he had always felt commonality was never something to be overlooked.
“No it’s not nothing.” He said gesturing to the book in hand. If she only knew. He shook his head, “Nothing wrong with classics.”

Bell, didn’t feel it was her place to air any minor grievances she might have had living with Reid or any of her interesting character traits she might have been exposed to in the meantime that was Reid Chase. She was her friend despite how….different she actually was to Bell and it wasn’t her place to air out dirty laundry with her...and nor would she complain about anyone that would so eagerly open up her doors to her and had been such a delight so of course Bell had only nice things to say in regards to Reid.
Bell joined in on the laughter with good nature “Yeah I guess that’s one word for it……” She shrugged her shoulders “And I’m sure she is, The dogs just love her….” She said with a smile remembering the dogs. She was a fan of animals. What could she say?
Post by Levi Alexander Wolfe on Feb 9, 2016 9:57:28 GMT -6
Even though Reid was out of the picture Levi was sure going to let her hear about this. He couldn’t wait to hear what excuses she had for this. Although, part of him was curious as to why she did it in the first place. He may already know the answer himself but he wasn’t going to admit that. His eyes focused on the red head. She was cute. Her eyes were like jewels. He smiled, “Her dogs are adorable. And they should love her, my dogs are quite fond of her as well.” He said recalling the day they had first met. It was dogs at first sight. He leaned in slightly, “But might are better.” He chuckled, he couldn’t help it. He was biased towards his own. How could he not be? They were his pride and joy.
Levi was never one to divulge personal information of himself. It was the way he liked it. The less people knew about him the better. Regardless of circumstances had changed, he was not going to open up suddenly overnight. He wanted to, but he just couldn’t. Or perhaps he didn’t want to. He gave in, “I read here and there.” That was vague, and a partial lie. He read almost every day. Any down time he had his head would be in a book (even though he barely had the time anymore). He went every week to the bookstore to grab a new book. He had a whole wall in his apartment converted into a bookcase. There was no way he was going to tell a stranger how much of a book nerd he was. Even if she was beautiful.
