He had learned long ago that letting his dogs have a time to run free was very beneficial for them. Which is why he now simply sat on a nearby park bench, watching as the four ran and played with each other. He was glad to see Mikhail getting along so well with the rest of the pack. He was a good new addition to Nikolai's three diablos, even if it added more work for him. Still, he did not mind. All four listened to him the moment he spoke.
As he watched them, his mind drifted. He couldn't help but think back to when he finally decided to return to Russian to see his parents again. he hadn't realized what a pit the thought of visiting them, or even thinking about them had dug within him. Seeing his parents had finally lifted the ghost that had been haunting him of his brother's death.
Now he felt so much lighter, and was able to think back to his parents without feeling guilt grip his heart so firmly. He could practically feel his brother slapping him on the back and laughing, telling him it was about damn time he moved on. The thought made Nikolai smirk a bit as he watched his dogs play. Yet he noticed now that one of them was missing. Yet again, it was Polina.
Chuckling and rubbing his face, Nikolai looked around and finally saw Polina had approached someone. Standing, Nikolai headed over, whistling sharply. "Polina! Стоп!" He ordered, the canine halting immediately and looking over at him. "Sorry, she likes to great new people." Nikolai explained, smiling as he knelt down to ruffle his dog's head.
