In The Job Description

[Erin Hackett]

She honestly was not the best with taking photos of people, at least not in terms of having a high level of skill with it. She was still debating if she really should just make Quinn help her out with this aspect of her job. She had made sure to tell people she preferred to handle jobs where she could use technology in her favor to get the information they wanted. It was so much easier and also there was a lot more proof there. You had what a person was spending their money on, where they were, who they talked to, and so one.

Yet, people wanted photographic proof; as if a video was not enough or their account records were just not the full confirmation that someone was doing something that they should not have been. This assignment that she was currently working on was one of those that she felt disgusted to deal with. It was a usual someone cheating on another person and said person that was being cheated on wanted proof. Erin wanted to point out how the proof was literally all over the internet but this person wanted photographic proof. The only problem with that was the fact that she had been watching this guy for hours now and he had not done anything that would show that he was up to no good.

Erin was half tempted to forge a photo at this rate to get this job done and over with. She had all the proof right there for the women but she still wanted a photo of the guy with those he cheated on by today. Even if Erin had made it clear that he did not meet with those people today. The women didn’t listen and so Erin was here leaning against a tree. "You, can I ask you a favor for a second?" Erin was quick to call out when she saw someone passing by that she could use to her advantage. It was easy enough to call out to them for help but talking to them when they got closer was going to be the real test.

She was passing by when she heard a voice and turned around on her heel to look. Yes, she had spun her whole body. Years of training and security had taught her just turning your head could lead to you not being prepared for an attack. It was her personal style. When she saw the girl with the camera, she felt like the person was familiar. She squinted briefly before it clicked and she grinned. Like, actually grinned. Since she'd started dating Lupe, she had to admit that had come more frequently. It was a vibrant, genuine one because her emotions were finally allowed to be unlocked for some of the time.

"Erin, right? I lent you bugspray once. And yeah I'm aware my memory is eerie. So what do you need help with?" She smirked.

"Are the ladybugs attacking you this time?" She couldn't help it.

Erin did notice how the girl turned around pretty quick once she had called out to her. She didn’t really know what to think of it other than the girl having turned around pretty quick. Maybe that meant that she would be good at running away in case things were to go bad. Not that Erin was worried that things would go bad and even if they did she could easily cause the girl to vanish with not too much effort. Yes, she had several backup plans now for this plan to be able to work and not go bad.

It just all depended if this other girl wanted to help or not. The other girl gave her a smile and then actually seemed to know who Erin was. Wait…Erin knew who this girl was now as well. Admittedly she had forgotten and she was silent for a moment after the girl spoke about how she leant Erin bug spray. That was three years ago and it was kind of hard to remember considering how many people she needed to help obtain bug spray for her on short notice. “Y-yeah…Cassie, right?” Erin asked, wanting to be sure that she was putting the memory to the right person.

What did Erin need? Before she could answer, a joke was made; no doubt referring to Erin’s issues with bugs. Thankfully ladybugs were not the real issue which was why Erin chuckled. “No, not this time thankfully. I actually need you help to get a particular shot. You don’t need to show your face to the camera and I’ll even pay you for your help.” Erin informed the other girl, not wanting to give too many details on the matter just yet. “Up for helping me out?” Erin followed up then after giving the other girl a moment to really let the offer sink in. Money tended to be the best way to get someone to help you out with a matter.

"Yup, although I didn't expect you to even remember me, let alone my name." She shrugged. Paid for helping out and she didn't have to have her face in the picture. This was sounding suspicious.

"...What are you looking for me to do firstly? I'm not going to agree to it if I don't know what you're asking of me first. It's just impractical." Plus she was security staff, and she was also supposed to be setting a good example for her girlfriend.

It was Cassie; at least the woman said that was her name followed by being surprised that Erin had remembered her. Erin was half surprised that she remembered her as well, but then again the girl had helped her out during a crisis so it would have been hard to forget someone like that. After all, Erin was being eaten alive by bugs and the other girl had just the thing Erin needed in order to not die that day. She blamed her ginger blood, it was just too good. “I’m pretty good with names.” Erin responded with a slight nervous chuckle.

Remembering people was a bit tricky unless they were involved with something important or it was beneficial for her to remember them. In this case it was more along the lines of luck and the nature of the event that she meant Cassie that she was able to recall who the other girl was. As for the job that Erin wanted the other girl to do, she was kind of upset that this girl was not just ready to do whatever for money. Erin figured everyone had a price; they did, and she just didn’t see the need for any question.

However; in this case it would not be that big of a deal to tell some of the information, at least in terms of what she needed the other girl to do. “Nothing too hard. Literally all you have to do is go up to that man over there and talk to him while I take some photos of you talking to him.” Erin laid it out. That should have been simple enough. She literally was paying Cassie to just talk to the guy because she needed photos of the guy talking to younger women. Cassie was not illegal or anything, but she was younger than the man that Erin had pointed to for Cassie to go over and talk to.

"Just talk to him huh? Let me guess: spurned lover wants stalker pictures so that she can finally know peace and possibly kill her husband for cheating. Or is SHE the mistress?" Cassidy tapped the side of her chin with her index finger and smirked.

"Please tell me: am I close?" She chuckled.

"Sure. But make sure to get my good side. And also, make sure to get the money shot." Cassidy on the path going by the guy and then feigned a trip over something or other. There was no way her good reflexes wouldn't have kicked in, but hey it made the guy make the effort to walk over and help her up. She batted her eyes a little to make him think he had a chance and she tucked some hair behind her ear for good measure. Few minutes later, he suggested something forward and she slapped him, hoping that at that moment Erin was getting the picture.

Erin nodded her head at Cassie's first question before falling silent and just looking at the other girl as she went on. They were questions or more so guesses related to why Erin wanted to get the photos. Erin could understand the curiosity behind wanting to know the details but she could not very well give such details. Legal issues and what not and while she knew the girl she didn't know her like that so didn't know what information she could or could not trust her with. "I can't really go into details on the matter, but you could say that it’s for proof that the guy over there is not faithful." Erin responded.

There, that should have been enough to satisfy the other girl's need to know what the guy had done or something along those lines. Erin was more surprised that the girl didn't ask how much she would be getting paid or talk to Erin about coming up with an agreed amount of payment. For that reason alone Erin was honestly tempted to get the photo, use her power, and then get out of there. Then she would not have to pay anything and it would have been the other girl's fault for not wanting to know more about the money in the arrangement. However; Erin decided to not be a jerk and that she would pay the girl. She was just going to pay her less then she would have originally offered had the girl actually talked about the price.

"Got it." Erin responded when the girl told her to get her good side. Erin was just going to get the side that showed that the person was in fact a women but not a clear shot so that Cassie would not have to worry about someone trying to go after her or blame her for the husband being a cheater. People did that and Erin was avoiding that to be nice. She didn't get what the girl meant by the money shot but she nodded all the same. As soon as Cassie walked away, Erin used her power to get closer and started taking pictures as soon as Cassie started talking to the man. Erin saw no point in the extra acting, but it made for some good shots all the same and soon she was headed back over to the tree where she stopped using her power.

That was when she heard the slap, missing seeing it, and didn't capture it on camera. "Was that the money shot?" Erin asked, but mostly to herself as she waited over by the tree in anticipation for Cassie to come back over towards her. "You have to come a bit closer so I can hide you." Erin would speak up when Cassie was close enough to hear but not loud enough that anyone around would really pick up on it.

"Yes. That was the money shot. I'm guessing you probably missed it. Ah well it was fun all the same." She chuckled, coming closer so Erin could...hide her?

"I thought it would make it easier for her to not debate that the guy was a terrible flirt and totally unfaithful. He was seriously forward that guy." She shook her head.

"I might've been worried about the photos making their way around if I didn't know my girlfriend would find it absolutely every bit as hilarious as I found it myself." Lupe would probably go stupid human again. She was protective, but not clingy and overprotective. It was nice when someone struck the balance between putting handcuffs on you, and just letting you feel very wanted.

Erin jumped a little, thankfully not flickering but she still jumped a little on the inside when Cassie responded to her words. Erin had mostly been talking to herself and didn't realize just how close the other girl was. She was going to have to give herself a strike for failing at being a ninja at the moment. No matter, Cassie was close enough and once Erin focused on her the other girl would vanish from sight and not be able to be heard just like Erin. She mostly did this for the fact that they were doing 'business' and a money exchange and she didn't want anyone to hear or see it.

When people heard or saw something, then they started asking questions, and when they started asking questions it led to problems. Erin didn't feel like having to go through taxes and all that jazz just to pay the girl for some simple work of just talking to a guy and allowing her photo to be taken. "Oh. I just really needed a shot of him talking to another woman. The lady paying me for this would have filled in the rest with her own imagination. She already has all the proof she needs that the guy is a cheater but she wanted photographic proof." Erin pointed out.

That didn't hurt to tell the other girl. If it did, well Erin didn't care at this point because she had gotten what she wanted. She was still a little peeved that the women wanted a photo to begin with when she had so much else that just screamed the truth right in front of her. Erin could have even Photoshop the image, but she figured she could be 'honest' about this. "You have nothing to worry about. I'll be sure that the photo can't be connected to you in anyway." Erin assured her as she reached into her jacket for her wallet.

She then proceed to pull out some twenties, counted five of them and held them out for Cassie. "A hundred sound good to you?" Erin asked, waving the money around a little bit.

[Cassie Stryker]

"I wouldn't even be worried about it being connected to me. Nobody gives a damn about me since I started at Bellefonte and disappeared off the social face of the earth." Then Erin offered her a hundred and she shrugged.

"Sure." An extra hundred didn't sound bad. She didn't really need the money she was an heiress. The money was the only good thing about her worthless dad really. But the extra hundred was nice. Her dad hadn't gotten rich from saying no to money...well technically he hadn't gotten rich his dad had but whatever details details.

The other girl assures her that she would not be worried about anything being connected to her. Then she was a fool. As the saying went 'hell has not fury like a women's scorn. After all, the person that was paying Erin to do this was less then pleased with her chatting husband and would likely make the life of whoever was involved with him a living hell. Still, Cassie would not have to worry about that because Erin was going to keep her hidden no matter what the other girl said. "Well...better safe than sorry." Erin simply stated, since while the other girl might not have cared, Erin did.

She really didn't want to have to get paid to mess up this girl's life if the women did identify who she was. The sad part was, depending on the price, Erin would be likely to do it even. So, to avoid that all together she would make sure that Cassie was covered. That way it was like paying the girl back for the help she provided with that big spray all those years ago. Erin felt gross for a moment for letting a debt like that go on for so long but at least it was paid. Just like she was physically paying the other girl who didn't seem impressed or even cared that she was getting paid. Shoot, if she does not want it she does not have to take it. I will keep it. Erin thought to herself.

Erin liked money and the things she could get with it and while she didn't mind paying people and spending on things for them if they really didn't want something then she had no problem keeping it to herself. "Alright...w-well thanks and hope you have a good day then." Erin responded, not sure what else to say. The other girl didn't seem much for conversation or at the very least was not making conversation. So with the money handed over Erin gave a slight not of her head and turned to leave. Using her power so she would vanish from sight and hearing from Cassie as well.

She shrugged and waved, starting to walk away.

"Good seeing you again. Hope it won't be as long until next time." She grinned and then jogged away, leaving Erin with her PI work. Her part of the job was done after all.
