Anya sat on one of the cold stone benches in the courtyard well after the sun had gone down. It was only about 10 pm, but the moon was shining over head to the East and the stars shined millions upon millions of light-years away. Anya was always fascinated by the stars, they were a source of light that she would never be able to control. They were too far away. She would have a hard time focusing on just one and she was sure that the amount of time that it would take to absorb light from a star would be far longer than her tolerance allowed. She could manipulate light from the moon a bit. She could steal light from a certain moon-lit area and move it somewhere else, but she couldn't absorb moon light either.
She could, however, absorb light from the lamp posts that lit the courtyard. And she did so. She set her hand on her lap, palm facing up and curled her fingers, focusing her attention on one lamp post in particular. The light from the post seemed to float up and out of the bulb, manifesting into a glowing orb. Turning her hand turned the orb. Bringing it closer and further away had a similar effect on the ball of light. And, upon letting her hand go limp, the ball of light snapped immediately back into it's light bulb, as if the laws of physics hadn't been ignored at all.

Patch had just come out of a very late class when he saw the floating light just beyond the horizon. Curiously, he walked over to it just as it disappeared into the lamp post. He saw the blonde and grinned.
"Did you do that?" He asked, pointing to lamp post before he pulled three shadow constructs out that looked like child-sized paper people, controlling them as they climbed up the lamp post to hug the top part of the lamp post until the light was completely consumed.
Yes, he was totally showing off.
