Anya Nichole Larson
FACE CLAIM: Blake Lively
---------------------------------
AGE: 21
GENDER: female
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: College Student
POWER: Light Manipulation
Anya has the power to manipulate light. She can move light with her mind and can take it from one source and move or shape it in another way; for example, she could take the light from a lamp or street light and shape it into a glowing orb that she could make to follow her or take shape in some other object.
She is currently working on the possibility of storing light within herself and her body for the convenience of being able to always have access to light or making herself into a "human lantern" or sorts. So far, she has been able to do so for a very, very limited period of time (currently it hasn't been more than a minute).
LIMITATIONS:
She cannot manifest light where there is no source and she cannot multiply or spread it out to make it larger. She can only manipulate what she has access to. She also cannot hold onto it for very long and if she looses her concentration, the light will vanish or go back to it's original source depending on it's access to said source. (IE: fire light would vanish, but light from a lamp would go back to the lamp.)
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Anya gets serious headaches and migraines that she cannot get to go away without resting and not using her powers. Often, when she gets these migraines, the only thing that helps is darkness. She has discovered that when she tries to store light inside of herself she gets nauseous and normally vomits/get physically ill. These periods of headache and sickness last longer or shorter depending on the amount of her powers she had been using and for how long she had been using them. She also finds that she's quite needy and clingy to people when she doesn't use her powers for an extended period of time (this being a few days).
HEIGHT: 5 feet, 7 inches
HAIR COLOR: blonde
EYE COLOR: Grey
MISC: Decently tall for a girl. Athletically built. Her shoulders are a little broader than most girls and she gets a little self cautious about it.
PERSONALITY: Anya is a pretty sweet girl. She's extroverted and loves to talk with everyone and anyone. She's better with deep conversations than she is with small talk, but will gladly talk about the weather for a few minutes if someone brings it up. Anya rarely hates people, but there are sure to be people that she doesn't necessarily like. And even though she'll give anyone a fair first chance, she doesn't automatically start out liking people.
Anya is kind of guarded. Shes experienced heart break and had been bullied as a child because her family was different. But she tries not to let that sort of thing get to her. She likes to keep an open mind. She's also a bit of a romantic, but also a realist. While the idea of a man sweeping her off of her feet and making her feel like a princess is a nice thought she knows that it's not realistic in today's society and is perfectly fine with being her own prince.
She likes animals, coffee, music and most sports. She's not the biggest fan of reading, most school work or liars. She's a night owl and normally has a hard time waking up in the mornings, meaning that she was often late to classes and now knows better than to schedule anything major before 11 am.
SECRET(S): Anya doesn't have any major secrets at this point in time.
FATHER: Jason Larson
MOTHER: Abigail Larson (Donner)
SIBLINGS: 17 year old sibling
WORTHY MENTIONS: N/A
CHILDHOOD: Anya was born at exactly midnight on December 21st, the shortest and darkest day of the year. Only upon the age of 12 would her parents realize the irony behind their oldest child's birth date. As a child she was restless and would hardly ever sleep through an entire night. Her parents learned how to nap during the day and early morning when Anya would finally fall asleep.
She was a very active toddler and loved to run and play outside with with the cats that her mother kept. She was ecstatic during the arrival of her younger sibling. Anya was 4 when her sibling was born and until she started primary school, the two of them were best friends. They remained very close throughout childhood despite the 4 year age difference. Anya wasn't exactly the most graceful child. She would often run inside with a scrapped knee or a cut on her elbow. But she rarely ever cried - she was tough and developed a high tolerance for pain.
ADOLESCENCE: Anya started to show signs of her powers when she was 12 years old. And two weeks later a scout showed up to bring her to the school. This wasn't exactly a surprise to her family since her father also had a gift and had attended the school. Her first sign of power came during the night when she accidentally took the light out of her night light and made it fly around the room, ending with it going into and illuminating her pillow. She ran screaming to her parents who explained to her what had happened and what would happen at that point.
Leaving her family and her life had been hard, but she felt at home instantly upon her arrival at the Bellefonte Academy. Learning that she wasn't alone was a great relief for the young girl and the knowledge that she would one day be able to fully control her powers helped ease her of a lot of stress and anxiety. However, the more she worked with her powers, the sicker she began to feel. She began to connect her migraines and sickness to the use of her powers and knew she would have to limit her exposure and gradually work her way up her tolerance, which she did.
ADULTHOOD: Anya graduated at the age of 18 and right away began to study at the college. She doesn't have a specific career path in mind yet and is still living off of the generous support of her parents. She lives with a roommate who also happens to be one of her best friends and doesn't work at all at the moment. Anya wants to spend the rest of her education mostly focused on learning to control her powers and grow her tolerance.
Her current life goal is to be able to store light inside of her as if to make a human lantern. She's been experimenting but hasn't has much luck, and she starts to feel physically sick whenever she does so and within a matter of 30ish second she throws up. Luckily, she's not squeamish and is decent at dealing with bodily fluids.
SAMPLE: Sarah looked up when she saw a body approach her. And as soon as she saw who is was, she smiled and looked back down at the ground. It wasn't like she was embarrassed to see him, she was however really happy. And she was afraid that her smile would be a little to much. Thomas Weasley had been her best friend for as long as she could remember. Of course, she loved her sister and her sister had been her first and most trusted confidant, but it was different with Thomas. It had always been different with Thomas. Thomas didn't have to like her. He didn't have to hang out with her or talk to her, or listen to her go on and on about the stupidest little things. He didn't have to put up with her crazy personality or her weird little quirks. Lizzie had to. It was a biological obligation. But for Thomas, he had willingly sighed up to do so, and he didn't ever try to take back his contract. Not even when she admitted that she had lied to him for all of those years about her being a seer. Well, she hadn't exactly lied. Had he ever asked her if she was a seer, she might have said yes. He had never asked. So she had never told. But she was glad that it was all out in the open now. It made life a lot easier.
"It's nice in a way." Sarah admitted when he asked how it was to be a working adult. "But also, it sucks in a way... in a few of them actually." she added. She looked over at him and smiled, remembering back to all of their childhood games. Running around outside of the burrow while the parents talked and laughed inside. Staying up all night in the common room telling stories and laughing at how stupid they were. She supposed those things weren't gone, but it all seemed like it was so long ago. A lifetime ago. She looked back down and leaned over, nudging his shoulder with her shoulder, then laughing a little. It was nice being back with someone whom knew her better than almost anyone else. "It's weird living on my own. It's quiet." she said. "How's Hogwarts? Driving all the ladies wild?" she teased.
