Valerie loved running. It was just something she really enjoyed. Of course, she loved exercise in general, so it wasn't that much of a surprise that she loved running too. Although usually when she ran it was alone, or with her best friend Riley early in the morning. But this time, she had a different running partner, which she was still pretty surprised about.
She hadn't been sure if Ezra Cooper had actually meant it when he said they might be able to run together. Valerie took the offer as him just being kind to someone so socially awkward like her. But no, he apparently meant it. Because before she knew it, he suddenly come running with her in the afternoon. Was Valerie still shy? Definitely. She didn't know why Ezra was being so kind to someone like her. Although apparently Riley knew him and said he was nice. That little bit made her relax a little. If Riley vouched for him, he had to be nice. Right?
But most of those nerves had faded away once they actually started running and Valerie's confidence, as it usually did, rose as they began the exercise. One of the things she definitely loved about running was the fact she could enjoy the outdoors while doing it. And it was a very pretty day too, which was certainly a bonus and had Valerie smiling a little even during their jog. Eventually she figured she should try chatting, so she gathered most of her courage to ask: "Um.... So how, ah.... how have you been?"

Alex had decided to sleep in after a full night of...nightly activities but Ezra still had a lot of energy to burn, which was why when Valerie texted him, he happily met her out where they had planned to in his running gear, which consisted of a black tank and sweat pants.
Running with Valerie was a little more quiet than running with Alex, something he wouldn't say was a bad thing, but it was something he had to learn to deal with. It wasn't hard. Valerie was a formidable running partner.
He was surprised when she started talking but a wide smile spread across his face and he turned his head and shrugged lightly. "Good. Uh...my friend and I...we made up. And uh...she's my girlfriend now." The smile just widened and he couldn't stop it from spreading even wider, if that were even possible.

Ezra seemed a little surprised when Valerie spoke, and it made the blonde cringe a little. Should she not have said any thing? I shouldn't have opened my mouth. She thought with despair. But then he was smiling and Valerie hesitantly smiled too. She blinked at his information though. The friend he had fought with turned out to be his.... girlfriend now? And judging from how wide his smile was getting, he was really happy.
Valerie offered a small shy smile in return. "Oh that's, ah.... good." She said, hoping she didn't sound like a downer. "It's um.... It's g-good you made, ah, up with her." She said. She'd never dated anyone, so she didn't really know what to say. Romance had always been something she'd heard about, never experienced. She was too awkward for that.
