Ellis was... Somewhat confused.
She was alone in the room she was forced to share with her roommate. The more time passed, the more she had to wonder if this was how it was going to be for the rest of the night. She'd had something of a penchant for trying to drive the blonde crazy, and for the most part it was working. But sleeping alongside her was just... She still wasn't sure how she felt about that.
After another hour or so, Ellis decided it was safe enough to just lock the door and go to sleep. Sleeping was always difficult - she struggled so frequently to keep her mind clear enough. When she was lying down, she was thinking. Always thinking. And even if she tried, she couldn't stop such an occurrence.
More time passed - this time, she wasn't sure on the approximate amount. Finally she felt her eyes growing heavy; her mentality settling. But just when she might have been able to sleep, a significantly loud sound emanated from the door. She didn't need to guess what, or who, it was. But she chose not to move. Not to get up. Her roommate could make as much noise as she wanted; Ellis had no intention of leaving the bed.

Four solo cups of this punch, and Sam was heading back to her room. The party was a bust; meaning the alcohol was gone and most people who weren't her were hooking up. Talk about buzz kill. So what better to do than to head back to her room and bug the one person on this boat that wasn't drinking?
She twisted the handle as she walked towards the door, not really aware that it didn't turn as she still went straight forward. The result causing her to walk right into it with a loud thump. “Fuck!” the brunette put a hand to nose, rubbing where it had made contact with the door.
Locked. Why was it locked? Sam's eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she stared the door down, lips pressed into a hard line. Right. Key. She had this. Sam reached into her pockets and let out a loud groan as found nothing. What time was it? Was it too late to wake people up?
Never.
The brunette pounded on the door, “Oi! Love! Let me in!” her free hand continued to search for her key.

Right when she heard the specific word chosen, Ellis knew she was correct in who she was dealing with. It would have been a perfect time to be able to point out how assumptions often came to fruition, but she kept that to herself. She was adamant in that she didn't want to move.
But of course, she didn't just go away and find somewhere else to sleep. That would be too easy. One thing Ellis knew for sure was that her Boston roommate seemed to love a challenge, even if it wasn't posed to her. She would make it one.
And this, she had.
Pounding on the door only made Ellis flinch once, but she tried to settle quickly afterwards. Being called love visibly irked her, and in that moment she was particularly glad she wasn't under her watchful eyes. Ellis opened her mouth to speak, stopped, faltered without a sound, and closed her mouth again. No. It'd take a lot more to get her to even prove she was on the other side of that door.

Sam frowned, still standing only inches from the door she had just come into contact with. “Ellis!” she tried again, pounding once more on the door. Still, there was no answer. Again, the Boston girl searched her pockets for the key. She could swear she had it when she left, but the most she turned up was a hand full of loose change.
“Ellis, pleeeaase.” This time, her voice sounded a little more desperate. There was no doubt in her mind that the blonde was inside. What else would the girl be doing on a boat at such a time? Her roommate didn't quite come off as a party kid, to be honest.
Still, silence.
Sam brought her hand up, scratching the top of her head as she stared at the numbers on the door. Seventeen. Yes. Even if her mind was fuzzy, she knew she was trying to get into the right room. Reaching forward, she tried for the handle again, this time shaking it more aggressively than before. When it refused to turn, Sam let her head hit the door with a thump.
She tilted her head, letting her cheek press against the coolness the door provided. “Ellis?” her voice dropped to a whisper, “Ellis, can you hear me?”

The calling of her name in tandem with the insistent pounding on the door caused Ellis to frown, and she curled her fingers into the blanket before dragging it up over her head. As if somehow it'd make her go away. Or at least be quiet.
But something about her practical begging drew a smile to the blonde's mouth. She might have even looked amused; thankfully, no one saw her.
But finally, Ellis pulled back the covers and turned, pressing her feet to the ground before crossing the distance between herself and the door. Slowly. Quietly. She rested her hand against the handle, wondering if she disappeared. Assumed so. She had friends she could spend her time with. But just as Ellis pressed her ear against the door, she heard an audible thud from the other side.
A different expression caught her features as she heard a whisper - faint and... Oddly sweet in its own way.
She dropped her jaw to speak, failed, swallowed and parted her lips again.
"I can hear you." Ellis replied, resting the side of her head against the door for another moment or so before unlocking it and taking a step back. She wanted to find solitude under the blanket again before this girl got to see her in what she was trying to sleep in; simple shorts and a tank top - the hem of which she was already pulling at.

Something of a goofy smile spread across her lips when she heard her roommate respond. Sam opened her eyes, looking at where she imagined Ellis was on the other side of the door, her head still resting against it. “Can I come in?” still, the Boston girl was whispering. At the sound of the lock clicking, Sam lazily lifted her hand, pulling at the handle and stumbled inside, her weight against the door causing it to open rather quickly, bringing the brunette with it.
Normally, the athletic girl would have been able to keep herself from toppling over, but thanks to the four cups of spiked punch, Sam needed something stable to keep her upright. The closest thing, however, happened to be her roommate. Even as the blonde moved, Sam reached out to grab her arm, fingers curling around the Siberian tiger tattoo as she tried to keep her balance.
Even while intoxicated, it hadn't taken Sam long to notice her roommate's choice in attire, or more rather, what it revealed. What was something of an innocent grin before quickly turned as Sam raised her eyebrows, raising her free hand to discard the yellow beanie on her head. “Well, hello there, Ellis.” She blinked a couple of times, dark eyes trying to focus on the girl's tattooed arm, as well as the rest of her usually hidden figure. “Where have you been hiding all my life?”

Ellis quickly realised her attempted escape was short lived. Before she could actually get anywhere, her arm was forcibly snagged and she was held onto. It was clear from just that that her roommate was struggling to stand. So she glanced at the hand around her arm before looking back at the girl who held her.
Of course, it wasn't lost on her how she was being looked at.
"In the nearby dorm," Ellis finally replied, "Alone."
Still, Ellis did reach out towards her, her hands gently curling around the Boston girl's arms as she slowly took necessary steps backwards. If nothing else, it was clear she needed to get some kind of sleep, though the blonde highly doubted this would go that way.

“That's a shame. Us bein' alone in our dorms for so long. Could've shown you a good time, you know.” As she was being lead towards the bed, her grin grew and she used her free hand to start sliding pulling up her own shirt. “I mean, I can still show you a good time if you're keen.”
After all, Ellis was bringing her to the bed. That clearly only meant one thing, right? The brunette was obvious to any logical intentions Ellis might have had. “Can't say it would be the first time I thought about it.”
Even while being lead, Sam managed to stumble again, this time tripping over her own feet. In an attempt to keep her balance, she moved forward, bumping into Ellis with enough force to knock them over if the blonde wasn't prepared to keep them both upright.

Ellis felt the corner of her mouth twitch, like she wanted to respond in a negative way but was actively decided not to. She realised quickly that this girl was pulling at her own clothes. Regardless, she didn't have the capacity to stop that yet. She was trying not to fall over. "N-"
She couldn't even articulate the single word; no. She wasn't keen. But she couldn't react to anything but the next thing she'd said. That she'd thought about it? "-You haven't." She denoted, knowing her roommate had something of a penchant for saying things just to stir her.
This time when Sam stumbled, Ellis couldn't properly hold her. Not after her saying something like that.
Her back hit the bed as she fell, and she seethed through her teeth at the sudden pain that carried. All the while she hadn't given up her hold on the Boston girl who - knowingly or not - pushed her down onto the bed they were supposed to share.

Had Sam been in a better state of mind, Sam likely would have caught how Ellis faltered, or at least had seen the visual cue that went along with it.
She hadn't expected to fall, and thus wasn't able to stop herself from completely landing on top of Ellis. Something of a distressed groan escaped her lips as she blinked a few times, the sudden motion causing her already foggy head to spin. When her mind did catch up however, Sam shifted slightly before pausing as she suddenly realized how she was positioned on top of Ellis. Again, she blinked, this time in an attempt to adjust her focus on the blonde.
Although she knew she was pinning Ellis to the bed, Sam made no effort to actually get up, and only moved her hand to brush a few strands of blonde hair out of her roommate's face while trying to catch her gaze. For a few moments, she remained still and just looked.
“I really have.” She said, or rather mumbled, before tilting her head downward and kissing Ellis.

Ellis held her eyes shut, registering the course of pain that seemed to shoot alongside her spine. It wasn't overtly damaging - she knew exactly what it was following. And that made her cringe.
But then she glanced up at the girl who was literally on top of her. Ellis could register the way her heartbeat quickened - even she understood the innate desire for humsn contact. How it made the body course, the blood shift faster through her entirety.
It was frustrating.
For once, she didn't watch the hand that reached towards her. She kept her eyes intently focused on hers. When she was was being looked at like that, it was impossible to turn her attention away.
Ellis took a sharp breath when Sam spoke, and her lips were subsequently captured by her roommate. Immediately she reached up, gently trailing her hands through her hair to draw the dark locks away from her face. She spent a moment or two - or more, she couldn't recall - reciprocating the way her roommate kissed her.
Before her eyes flew open, hands pressing to her shoulders to try and draw her away slightly. Enough so she could speak.
"You're drunk." Ellis breathed, her eyebrows furrowing at the fact.

Sam wasn't sure what she was expecting to happen, but as she felt Ellis reciprocate the kiss, she knew she hadn't been expecting that. She felt her chest tighten and her own heart rate jump in response. The brunette put her hand to the side of Ellis's face, a thumb gently running across her cheekbone as she--
Stopped.
Sam inhaled sharply when she felt hands push on her shoulders, forcing the kiss to break. She opened her eyes, confusion evident in them as she stared back at the blonde. It took her a moment to process what she said as she tried to draw her mind away from what had just happened. Ellis was right; Sam was drunk. It was a fact that the Boston girl couldn't deny. Still, she didn't pull away. Her hand remained cupping the other's cheek.

Ellis caught the confusion Sam wore - how could she not? She was used to seeing her roommate with a smile an obnoxious grin on her face. Confusion was rare.
Even as she'd offered the sobering realisation, this girl was persistent. She still hadn't pulled away. She was still touching her like that; gentle in its own way.
And then she spoke.
"Exactly." She whispered back, closing her eyes briefly before opening them back up again. Ellis glanced away, her gaze searching something less intense than her eyes. "You're not- You're just-"
Her eyebrows furrowed, a frown evident throughout her whole expression. "Move, Sam." She said quietly, catching her eyes again, "Please." Because she hardly wanted to be kissed for the sake of a drunken accident.

Again, Sam had not been expecting the response offered. Sam didn't need to be sober to know that this girl ran on logic. There had to be some explanation for her action. But there wasn't.
And there she was assuming again. She opened her mouth to speak – to argue – but when Sam heard the final word drop from Ellis's lips, she faltered. The way she stressed the word, how she caught her gaze as she spoke, it visibly irked Sam. She withdrew her hand, placing her palm flat on the mattress as she pushed herself up. Away.
“Sorry.” Sam barely got the word out; she wasn't one to use it often and it felt strange to say it. Her head was already starting to pound as the alcohol continued to make her mind blur. Moving slowly to insure that she wouldn't stumble again, the Boston girl sat herself on the bed next to Ellis, being sure to keep a few inches of distance between them.
After a few moments, she looked at the blonde, eyebrows knitting together as she still tried to process it all. “Can I do it again when I'm not?”
Post by Ellis Vaccari on Mar 24, 2014 19:57:14 GMT -6
Again, Ellis closed her eyes, this time as if she'd been physically hit by the apology Sam offered her. It felt strange to hear - likely as strange as it had been for her to say. She breathed a heavy sigh, though she tried her best to keep the sound itself quiet.
Regret; she wondered if this was what it really felt like.
She waited for a time, watching as she sat beside where Ellis would be if she managed to drag herself up. But her eyes remained focused on the ceiling for a second or so longer before she made the move. She allowed herself to sit beside her roommate, though the distance between them was paramount. And suddenly, impossible to breach.
Ellis breathed a laugh. A short, genuine laugh at her question. She dropped her head slightly, glancing at the floor. It was easier to look at, she was sure. "You-" won't want to. She felt the words catch on her tongue, refusing to pass through her lips. While she was sure it was a fact, she was also sure this girl would argue with her if she tried to make that clear.
"You should lie down." Ellis finally spoke out, opting to stand up and clear the way for her to get into the bed. The one she could hardly imagine sharing now.
