Levi disliked shopping, it was something he only did when it was absolutely necessary. Which unfortunately for him that was today. Luna had been acting extremely unlike herself for the past week or so. It was baffling. He had no idea what was wrong with her. This morning he awoke to find that not only did she destroy her dog bed, but she managed to destroy two pairs of his boots. He wasn’t exactly mad, he was more confused than anything, but she managed to tear one of his favorite pairs of boots apart. So not only did he have to go get two new pairs of shoes, he had to replace her dog bed, which he was feeling a bit spiteful in doing.

He had locked her in her cage, not taking a chance on coming home to find any more of his things half eaten. He felt bad for doing it, but she needed to be taught what she did was bad. Which he felt she already knew. Levi had taken a trip to the outskirts of town to visit the outlet mall. He had been there once or twice before, but really rather avoided this area of town. He wandered about, seeing plenty of people shopping. His stomach twisted in a knot. He hoped that he wouldn’t run into a certain someone. It’s been two years and he’s managed to avoid seeing them, but as each day passed he felt as though his odds of seeing them increased.

His hazel eyes locked onto a little pet boutique, which of course had some animal pun as a name. He was drawn to it immediately, hoping that he could find a dog bed big enough for Luna. As he entered, the cashier greeted him. He gave a small smile and a nod as he proceed straight to where he saw the beds. There were plenty of options. Jeez.

[Dr. Arika Lark]

The woman found herself in the pet store, unsure why. She had only had a dog when she was a kid, and her and David had considered getting a pet, but it never happened. She looked at the abundance of colourful fish on display. Nope. Not a fish girl... Next she moved to the cages of rodents - rabbits, hamsters and mice - God no!

Her gaze is drawn to the small collection of reptils. A small 'Oooo' escaped her lips as she moved closer. Reptiles weres awesome, especially the bearded dragon. She watched him for a moment before moving away, hardly realising Levi was behing her. She collided with his side, and took a step back.

"Oh god I am so sorry!" She was quick to apologise, slightly embrassed that she hadnt been very aware of her surrounding.

Levi’s hazel eyes were blankly staring at all the beds. His mind was too preoccupied with the thought of Luna being left in the cage for longer than she had to be. When he had left his apartment he saw Axel lying next to the cage. It was heartbreaking. The pads of his fingertips brushed over the different beds, some were softer than others. There were more smaller ones than larger ones. He shifted over slightly to his right placing himself in front of the larger beds. There was no point in him wasting his time with the tiny beds. He rolled his eyes and let out a small huff at the blue and pink beds. It was annoying how sex was determined by two colors. Colors aren’t gender biased, yet people constantly make them out to be. Levi tended to stick with neutral colors, and when the opportunity present itself he would get things with his favorite two colors: blue and orange.

He finally saw a bed that would be adequate for her and he pulled it out wanting to get a better look and feel of it. Suddenly, he felt a bump on his side and he dropped the bed on the floor while he wobble back a bit from the impact. He heard a woman immediately start to apologize. Levi waved his hand dismissively. “It’s fine. I’m fine.” He said as he looked at the woman whose hair was the curliest he’d ever seen hair be.

The woman was so embaressed, which was something very hard to do. There was a pink hue to her cheeks as she bends down to pick up the dog bed. She held it out to him, clearing her throat. "Your sure I didnt hurt you? I should have been watching what i was doing." She apologized again, brushing her curls from her face.

I take it you have a dog? Arika asked, genuinly interested. She had always loved dogs, even though she was more of a cat person.

It was obvious that the woman felt bad, embarrassed even. Her cheeks were flushed. Levi don’t make a big deal out of it, because it wasn’t a big deal. He was fine. The bed he dropped wasn’t breakable (until Luna would get her mouth on it). It was just an honest accident, and he was fine with it. He took the bed from the lady who had so kindly picked it up from the floor (although that is probably where it would end up later). “Thank you.” He said simply. He let out a small chuckle and gave a warm smile, “Really, I’m fine. It was an accident, it’s okay.” He said patting random parts of his body to show he was honestly fine.

Levi’s smile grew larger when she asked if he had any dogs. He was always up for talking about his babies. Although today one of them was misbehaving, he would still talk about her as if she had done nothing wrong. Spoiled they are. “Yes. I have two Siberian huskies. Axel and Luna.” He said with a nod. “How about you?” He was always interested in finding people who had dogs. It would be good for them to interact with more of their kind.

Arika felt a little better when he assured her it was alright. A curl of hair pinged back onto her face. Bloody hair She grumbled with a smile, forcing it back behimd her ear. She noticed how his smile grew at the mention of dogs.

I love siberians! The woman exclaimed, before shaking her head.Sadly i dont have any pets at all. Though I really do want one. She held out her hand.Im Arika. The petless wonder in search of a companion. She laughed at her joke.

Levi averted his hazel eyes away from the woman momentarily, examining the dog bed in hand. Luna would like it most likely. It had a thick enough cushion that so it wouldn’t be like she’d be laying on cloth on the ground. That was a plus. The point of a bed was for some comfort and elevation from the floor. His eyes shot back to the lady when he heard her grumbled something indistinguishable.

The local smiled at the stranger’s exclamation. Who didn’t love huskies? Levi extended his hand and gave her a firm shake. “I’m Levi.” He said flatly. He let out a small chuckle. “Well that’s a shame. Everyone needs a pet!” He looked around the shop, “Luckily you came to the right place.” He added, gesturing to the vast amount of options that surrounded them.

A pleasure levi! The woman said cheerfully, before a chuckle escaped her lips. I sure do need a pet! And what better place? She looked around, before her eyes fell on a small glass cage with two small sphyxn cats curled up inside.

Arika made a bee line towards them. She had seen pictures of the cats on the internet, and the name always tickled the archaeologist. Arent they adorable! In a weird... hairless way She giggled, dipping her hand into the enclosure for the bald young cats to scent.

The local nodded his head in acknowledgment. As the lady looked around the store Levi glanced at his watch, then to the dog bed, and then back to Arika, who had seemed to have her heart set on something she saw. He stayed over by the beds, and watched as she made her way over to a cage with cats inside of it. Levi with a half-smile looked back at the other options of dog beds that were still available. The real question was, was it worth spending all this money on a bed she’d most likely destroy again? The answer was obvious.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard her speak again, but it seemed to be directed toward him. Levi slowly walked over to where the cats were. He crinkled his nose. He wasn’t really a cat person, let alone a hairless cat person. He watched the cats smell and rub all over her hand. “Yeah they’re cute I guess. I’m not really much of a cat person to be honest.” He said with a shrug. His eyes were distracted by another glass tank. His eyes locked on it, and he made his way over to it. Looking back at Arika he smirked, “Now this, this would be a cool pet.” He said as he watched the bearded dragon move around his tiny enclosure. Tempting.

The cats rubbed over her hand lovingly. It made Arika smile, her fingers gently stoking the hairless sphynx's. Maybe a cat? It made sense when she thought about it. She turned her grey eyes towards Levi when he spoke again. Cats were worshipped by the ancient egyptians. They were so loved that the Pharoh's would want a mummified cat in his burial chamber. She smiled, before adding: Im an Archaologist.

She pulls herself away from the cats, who mew after her and followed Levi. She nodded, gazing at the reptile. He's pretty cool. But there were far to many lizards in Egypt for my taste.

Levi listened to Arika speak. An archaeologist? Interesting. “Well then. Those two would most definitely suit you.” He said with a nod. He adjusted the bed in his arms to free up at least one head. It was awkward to hold. He decided to stick it under his arm, it was more comfortable and that way he wouldn’t hit anyone or knock anything off the shelves.

He felt her presence next to him as his hazel eyes were locked on the intriguing reptile. If he came home with another animal he wasn’t quite sure how his babies would react. Not to mention Luna has been crazy lately. Damn. Maybe next time, when his dog wasn’t psychotic.

“Lizards are awesome though.” He gently pressed his finger against the glass. He glanced over at Arika, “What is an archaeologist doing in Montana? If you don’t mind me asking. Aren’t there better things to dig up back in Egypt?” He asked with a smile.
