The girl fell out of bed, her body writhing for a moment before she came to her senses. She was drenched in sweat, her chest rising and falling in quick pants. Petra pressed her hand to her head, groaning. 'You killed him Petra...' The voice echoed in her head. The girl staggered over to the decrepid looking radio sat on the floor. She kneeled before it, flicking the button. Her room was filled with loud opera. Petra sighed, letting the music block out the voices in her head.

At this hour, everyone should just sleep. The dorms were quiet and that was certainly the most boring part of Tamara’s job, walking them to make sure everything was indeed quiet and that people were, if not sleeping, at least in their room and not throwing a party or anything. It was all she was asking. They can stay up all night if they wanted, as long as those who wanted to sleep could do so without going to her because someone deprived them of their right to sleep eight to ten hours. Or ask someone else and have them demand an explanation as to where she was. Like she could be in every dorm at the same time.
She was about to leave this floor and hopefully go to bed as well when loud music could be heard all of a sudden. The sound was muffled by the walls of course but it was still clear enough. It was not the hit list either, thus telling her someone was throwing a party. It was... opera? Who on earth listened to opera music?
She came to the dorm the music came from. She knocked but it was too loud for anyone to hear. As staff and since she had to respond in case of an emergency, she had the keys to open up. And she did. Some sleepy heads peeked through their bedroom doors and she gestured at them to go back to sleep, going to the only door that had not been opened. She walked in the room and turned off the radio. “People are trying to sleep here, you want it that loud put headphones on,” she said with all the authority she could muster right now only to stop the frown that was growing on her face to show signs of concern. “Hey, are you alright?”

It was odd... the way opera shut out the voices. The girl never really understood it, but hey, it worked. She was so lost in the beautiful aria that she hardly noticed Tamara enter her room. It wasnt until her music was cut short that she snapped out of her musical bubble. She looked up in a brief moment of panic, a scream resounding from her lips. From where she sat she aimed a kick to Tamara's ankle, before she flicked her radio on and picked it up. She leaned against the wall, holding the radio to her chest and pressing her ear against the speaker

Okay, that girl was a basket case. Tam asked her what was wrong and she looked at her with so much panic in her eyes and even screamed at her. This had Tamara startled. She did not expect that. Normally, those she turned off the music from just grumbled and went to bed, agreeing quite unhappily to put some headphones on. This one preferred to try and kick her as she screamed and put it back on. Tamara just had the time to back away, feeling the foot touching her but without the strength it would have had she remained where she was.
“Now that is it!” she said, not feeling like playing tonight. She wanted to get to the radio but feared she would attack her. Then she thought she should not be the one fearing this girl. So she would go and try to turn it off again. “Headphones, girl. And you calm down and explain what is going on now.” Tamara exclaimed, doing her best not only for her to be able to hear what she said but also that she better answer it now indeed. She didn’t want to deal with some psychotic girl. Not tonight.

Petra hummed along with the song, feeling the music calm her mind. She was sent into panic again when the music stops. She drops the radio, grasping her hair and humming loudly. Soon her humming turned to a quiet singing. Va ti aspettero, Il fiore nel giardino segna il tempo Of course, her italian wasnt perfect, she only knew the song from hearing it. She heard Tamara, but just shook her head, still muttering her her song. She didnt have earphones, nor did she want to explain why she needed her music. They all thought she was crazy enough... they didnt need to know about the voices in her head.

When the girl started pulling her hair, Tamara came next to her and tried to stop her. She had no idea if her gestures were reassuring or authoritarian but she was hoping it was a bit of both. She was also afraid the girl would lash out if touched. “Hey, hey, calm down, ok? Take a deep breath,” Would that work? She could only pray that it would. She caught glance of the shake of head she gave her but Tamara could hardly say if it was in answer to her questions, then which one, or if she was just going through some sort of psychotic break. Because there was something definitely not going on with her. Tamara was not sure what. She didn’t really bother checking who was in this room before she walked in to turn off the music.
Since the music appeased her, she turned it back on but not as loud. If she could calm down a little maybe they can talk and figure out what was going on. Or Tamara could make herself explained and find a way to give her headphones. “People are trying to sleep, alright? Now, the no, it was for the headphones, you don’t have any?”

Petra screamed as she felt Tamara's hands connect with her wrists. She looked up and pulled her hands away, holding them close to her stomach, twidling her fingers together nevously. She did as she was told, though she found it harder to calm down around anyone who wasnt Bell.
The girl took another breath when the music was turned back on, though it wasnt as loud as before. She rested her head on the wall behind her, letting her hair fall onto her face.If i cant sleep why should anyome else sleep She muttered quietly, before shaking her head. No of my foster homes thought i should have them. And im not allowed out the school grounds to buy a pair.

As soon as the girl screamed, Tamara let go of her wrists. She had no idea what was going on but one thing for sure, this girl lost it. “Alright, alright. Look, I’m not touching you anymore.” And Tamara lifted up her hands to prove it. She remained close because there was no way she would leave the girl alone in that state. No matter how much she wanted to make a run for it. “Calm down, alright?” Even her tone grew quieter in the hope it would help her.
The reasoning why she would not let others sleep made little sense but Tamara preferred not to talk of that. If she could not see for herself how silly that was, the woman didn’t want to start that debate at this hour. “If I find you some headphones, will you calm down?” Surely one of her roommates had some. Or maybe she could get some downstairs. There had to be some around that she could borrow for the night. Headphones weren’t all that expensive, she supposed she could even have the school agree to buy her a pair. After all, between a few bucks or chaotic nights for the entire dorm floor, the choice was easy.

Petra rubbed her face tiredly, the sweat glistening on her brow. Why were they always touching her? And why were they always telling her to calm down? The girl sighs, swallowing hard. She opened her eyes and noticed that the woman was still close. Please stay away from me She muttered, dropping her gaze as she rubbed her temples.
Why do you want to? Everone knows im a hopeless case. Thats what it said in the several different therapist notes. She slowly stood, legs shaking

Tamara had no idea what was going on but one thing for sure, it could not stay like this. She could not simply turn her back at this girl and leave her in that state. She was no doctor but she could see there was something wrong going on. What was the cause? Like said earlier, she was no doctor. For now, Tamara would be content with just calming the girl down.
From her plea, Tamara figured she didn't want the woman to touch. “Alright, but you need to calm down. What happened? And you have to accept if I can get you headphones that you’ll use them and keep the volume down for the others.” She was ready to do that much. But she was not going to leave this girl in that state without making certain she calmed down. It could not be professional of her. Even if it was, Tamara was not entirely sure she could turn a blind eye like that.
She frowned at the girl’s question. “Look, hopeless or not, I’m in charge of all of you. So I’ll help you out but, like I said, you need to calm down and agree not to disturb anyone.” Alright, now headphones. She looked around as though they’d magically appear before her, but the girl said she had none with her. “I’ll be right back. If you need to listen to your music, keep it low, ok?” She didn’t want to run for headphones only to be yelled at because the girl turned up the volume to the max while she was gone.

Petra swallowed hard, rubbing the heel if her palm into her sore eyes. Shit, why did she have such back nightmres.Nothing happened. Im fine The girl hissed, hunching her shoulders over. Her legs were shaking, though she managed to shuffle over to her bed.
She floped onto the matress, pressing her face into the pillow, breathing heavily. She didnt move, keeping her face into soft pillow. Just go already... She muttered.

It was students like this girl that made Tamara’s job difficult. Not because they were breaking the rules but because when you came to help they showed teeth and pushed you away. She got that some of them went through pretty bad stuff but it was annoying nonetheless. Tamara felt like shaking the girl and telling her to stop make her lose her time. She was even tempted to get up and leave without helping her. But she also knew she’d feel remorse for it because, in the end, she had a conscience that made her do a tad more than what her job required her to. Like getting her headphones despite lacking manners.
She sighed heavily, letting the girl hear all of her frustration through it. She went in search of headphones as she promised, torn between going fast before she did anything bad and taking all of her time to have her suffer a little and possibly learn her lesson. At this point, Tamara was not even sure she wanted to care about what caused this to happen. She just wanted to be done with it and go back to her room. Forget there were teenagers nearby.
