Alexander Mark Milwood
FACE CLAIM: John Boyega
---------------------------------
AGE: SEVENTEEN
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: STUDENT
POWER: GYROKINESIS
Alexander has control over the forces of gravity, in the sense that he can manipulate the gravitational field around him. Since gravity is a force of attraction, it allows him to attract or repel objects and increase or decrease the amount of gravity acting on an object/his own body in order to make it heavier or lighter. His ability also allows him to shift his own gravitational attraction to other surfaces, allowing for periods of wall or ceiling crawling. With practice, he hopes to be able to decrease gravity to the point of levitating his own body or even flight.
His ability is linked to his emotions, therefore, unconsciously, being in a bad mood makes everything around him within a ten-metre radius seem a lot heavier and walking a bit harder, whereas his happiness has an opposite effect. The shifting in gravity of an object tends to be at its easiest when he comes in physical contact with it or if the object is small.
LIMITATIONS:
Alexander cannot create gravity where there is none, say, for example, space or a room with zero gravity. He can only manipulate gravity where it exists.
He is only able to manipulate gravity within a ten metre radius, and ten metres is where his ability is at its weakest.
Extremely heavy objects do not become as light as a feather, nor does a feather begin to weigh a ton. Rather, the amount of gravity acting on the object is decreased or increased in relation to its mass e.g it would be easier for him to lift a heavy box, than to lift a car or truck.
When he touches an object, the effects of his ability last longer than if he were to trying manipulating the gravity acting on it with his mind.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Manipulating gravity is a big deal, with big headaches, and fatigue from constant use of his ability, since gravity is ever present and he can't turn his connection to it off. Lifting considerably heavy objects while using his ability often causes nosebleeds.
HEIGHT: 5'10"
HAIR COLOR: BLACK
EYE COLOR: BROWN
MISC: He is always wearing a handmade black, green and gold armband crafted by his sister with 'Made in Jamaica' embroidered in the fabric.
PERSONALITY:
Alexander is a lover of books, open spaces, tea, females, the cold, sleeping outside, quiet times or places, chocolate, deep conversations, and of course, animals. He dislikes noise, excessive heat, crowds, lack of humour or a sense thereof, shallow persons and equally shallow minds, closed spaces, prolonged sitting, killing for sport or fun, school, and making lists.
Alexander is inquisitive and delightfully so. His mind is never closed to the opinions or thoughts of others, since everyone is entitled to an opinion, and different ways of thinking are healthy. He's been known to crack a good joke here or there, and doesn't mind bearing the brunt of a joke himself. Whether it be a side effect of his ability or just the result of healthy eating and exercise, He possesses a fair deal of muscle as a result of his athletic and power training. He can only be patient to an extent with persons he considers, for lack of a better term, moronic. He is honest, and though honesty may be the best policy, his tendency to tell it like it is can often get him in trouble. One of his character strengths is also a weakness. His inclination to be open to the opinions of others can lead to his being easily swayed by others. He suffers from claustrophobia and lasts about a minute or two in small spaces and large crowds, preferring to take the stairs if possible. Incorrect statements and facts annoy the hell out of him. Alex abhors the sounds associated with eating, such as slurping, mouth smacking and crunching of chips from a plastic bag.
Persons describe Alex as cheerful and fun to be around. His outlook on life tends to be positive, and that positive energy seeps into his dealings with others. Generally, he greets persons with a smile or nod. Not exactly the social butterfly, but he gets around.
He aims to treat everyone equally, since that is how he himself would like to be treated. He also demonstrates the same level of respect to all staff members, whether janitor or headmaster, because all jobs are valuable contributions to society in his eyes. He frowns upon snobbishness, as he does not see the value of it in society, nor does he tolerate those who practice it. He also doesn't hold grudges, with the exception of those who really get on his nerves.
Academically, Alexander is average. He has no real interest in school and has the attention span of a two - year old when it comes to the classroom. He likes learning, but on his own, and has no intention of putting on display any genius he may possess.
He is known to space out frequently, as his mind is constantly on other matters.
FATHER:
BARRY MICHAEL MILWOOD - Lex does not have much memories of him, but can remember the love he showed towards his wife and children. He also designed a trust fund to aid his family prior to his death.
MOTHER:
MARGARET ELISE MILWOOD - 49 - NURSE - Margaret raised him and his twin sister, Amelia, with loving care and treated both equally, causing Alex to develop a deep respect for the female gender. A hard-working woman like her late husband, Margaret impressed upon her children the value of hard work and dedication, and gave praise when it was truly necessary.
SIBLINGS:
AMELIA REGINA MILWOOD - 17 - STUDENT - SISTER - Born five minutes before her brother, Amelia tends to display an older sister attitude to Alexander, and is peeved by persons thinking she's the little sister. She is close to her brother and is also the one he first consciously manifested his abilities in front of.
WORTHY MENTIONS: Any pets? Any important people?
CHILDHOOD:
On November 1st, 1998, in a hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, the first screams of newborn twins resonated through the halls of the maternity ward. Sighs of relief silently filled the delivery room and a proud father gazed with admiration at the fruit of his loins nestled in his arms before passing them to an equally overjoyed mother.
At two years of age, the toddler spent his time reading the books his father brought home with the hope of increasing his children's vocabulary. His favourite book (and the only one that seemed to hold his attention for very long) was an encyclopedia of animals accompanied by a pack of flash cards. His father thought it grand that his boy was reading such things at an early age.
When Alexander turned four, Barry died as a result of a mugging while coming home from work. His mother, though clearly devastated, pressed on in her goal to raise her children right and took on the role of father. He never quite understood the concept of his father being dead, as he'd often seen that cartoon cat on television die and come back a second later. However, as he got older and began to understand the process of life as shown on Discovery Channel, he began to feel the weight of his father's passing.
ADOLESCENCE:
Puberty seemed to be going good for thirteen year old Alexander. He'd gotten tall and somewhat muscular, and his mother often said he was beginning to resemble his father. He also appeared to be a natural-born athlete, in events such as the discus and shotput, competing at the school level and setting records in both events with the farthest throw. He told those who asked how he did it that it felt like throwing a paper plane.
On his fourteenth birthday, things got a lot weird. It started in the morning when he woke up suspended from the ceiling, subsequently freaking out and falling on the bed. At school, while trying out for the long jump, he found that if he concentrated hard enough certain persons would have quite a difficult time getting off the ground or getting very far. Seeing the potential his presence had for stumbling his teammates, he quit athletics that very same day and went home early to tell his mother, since he felt quite comfortable telling her everything. Upon his arrival, he found his mother chatting gaily with a recruiter from Bellefonte, who then enlightened him as to what sort of persons his family was and what a wonderfully special place the academy would be. Apparently, the gene came from Margaret, who had the ability to heal others and worked as a nurse to provide a cover story of sorts. Wanting to learn more about his powers and how he could use them a bit more constructively and freely, the teen accompanied the recruiter on a flight to Canada to be enrolled at the Academy.
The three years leading up to his turning seventeen have seen Augustus hunkered down in the school library either reading a book or training and expanding his abilities. During the SPECTRE incident, he decided to be one of the students that lay low in relative safety in the academy, since his powers or mind weren't exactly up to fighting standards. He's made very little in the way of friends, but hopes to change that for senior year with plans to join the book club and a few other sport clubs, like basketball.

SAMPLE:
There were times in Adam's life where he considered doing things.
Stupid things.
Once in a while, wonderful things.
He didn't know what rehashed version of some inventor's word to say to describe his success this time.
There was simply no way to describe the awesomeness of the device blueprint that sat before him, emancipated from the shackles of size and weight and general visibility or sensibility.
The power of the Craptop lay in his hands, and while still a piece of paper, it would change the world people saw laptops or communication devices in general ever again.
Log 1.
"I, Adam Charles Castle, have found a way to revolutionize the technological society. Not that I'm not always doing that, but whatever.
This amazing creation will surpass the puny phones, laptops and tablets of this generation. Why? Because you can fit it in the most private of places, and still have full functionality. No longer will we have to conform by claims such as it being too big or too small. I have done it. I am the Creator."
Adam shut off the recorder and danced around the tech club's room. Of course, he'd need parts to start mass producing, but a simple call to the company would solve that. All he needed was a little more juice.
Nothing could ruin something like this.
