Putting the stack of papers on the table in front of her, Amelia crossed her arms over her chest. "I believe these are yours," she said stiffly, brown eyes eyeing the younger man in front of her. She had no idea how the trainer's papers had ended up in her office, and really, she didn't care either. She'd attempted to contact him by calling the office, but no one had picked up. She'd then tried asking one of the people working in the reception to bring it over, but neither seemed overly eager - which was rather surprising, seeing as she'd often overheard them talk about how incredibly handsome the trainer was.
It almost made her want to throw up a little. How could people so easily give in to such silly idiotism? Sure, she could understand it if they did it during their off hours, but this was a place of work. Those kind of things had no place here.
Pursing her lips, Amelia cocked her eyebrows. "You should probably make sure this doesn't happen again, Mr. Parks. It's not very efficient."

Ethan was halfway close to napping when a stack of papers appeared on his desk, alerting him to a new presence in his office. Had he misplaced his students' files? He turned around to look at the folders he had neatly slipped on to his newly minted shelves and took one out only to find that it was empty.
Turning back to the woman standing in front of him, Ethan tried to give her his most winning smile, though it turned sheepish pretty quickly.
"I'm so sorry Miss...um...Miss." Why was he still so terrible at names? "I must have forgotten to file them away when I got them." He took the papers and pulled it close to him. "You didn't have to come all the way here. I would have come over there."

So, maybe it wasn't all that hard to imagine that some files would get misplaced. It happened, right? Wrong. Those kind of things only happened when people weren't properly organized, and if there was something Amelia hated, it was just that. She took a lot of pride in all the filing she did and the tidy way she managed to keep all of her papers and files. Maybe she shouldn't have bothered to care about what everyone else did as long as it didn't affect her - and really, she didn't.
But then again; it was her office the misplaced files had ended up after all.
Cocking her eyebrow at the man, Amelia pursed her lips. He didn't know her name? Well, that was professional. At least she'd managed to read up on most of the names when she'd first gotten here and as more people joined the staff team. "Miss Baker," she said, her tone even. "You should have." She put her hand on her hip, smoothing out the invisible frills that had formed on her attire.
"Yes, I did, seeing as you didn't pick up when I tried calling your office," she said and glanced over at his phone - wherever it was.

Miss Baker. Right, Miss Amelia Baker. Of course. She was a part-time trainer. He had been given a directory when he first started. He really should start reading it properly. She must think he's a right noob.
Ethan couldn't help looking at her as she smoothed down her outfit. His eyes darted back up to her face and gave her an apologetic and sheepish grin. "I might have been on the field or at the gym. I'm sorry. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. In the meantime, maybe I could give you my number? You can just leave me a text if I fudge up again?"

Furrowing her brows, Amelia stared at the younger man with a mixture of disbelief and humor. She hoped for his sake that he wasn't trying to be cute, because it really wasn't working for him.
"Or you could make sure your files doesn't get misplaced again - and if they do, maybe make sure they end up in someone else's office?" She had a feeling that there was plenty of female staffers who would absolutely love that.
"Nice try though," she added with a smirk as she took a step back towards the door, arms falling down by her sides.

He was writing down his number when Amelia's silence made him look up. She looked incredulous and he wondered why that was. Ethan frowned slightly as Amelia once again reminded him of his mistake. He kept quiet and nodded before looking back up at her with curiosity as she backhandedly complimented his efforts for something.
"Sorry?" He asked, getting rid of his frown and looking at her with mild curiosity.

Maybe she was being overly cocky, but Amelia knew that she looked good. Unless this man was gay - or preferred chubby gals, she was fairly certain that he either had or would check her out.
"Just letting you know ahead in time," she said, saving herself.
Now, had this been somewhere outside of work, she would have been more open to flirting with the man. Heck, she'd likely be the one doing the flirting, but Amelia lived by one rule; don't shit where you work.

Ethan had, in fact, checked her out. He wasn't free of vices after all. He knew how to appreciate beauty and this woman had it in buckets. But contrary to what was happening right then, Ethan was a professional and he was definitely not going to make it too obvious that he found her attractive.
He was still not entirely sure what exactly she was talking about so he tore the piece of paper with his number on it and handed it over to her with a purse-lipped smile.
"Thank you again Miss Baker. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again. If it does, I promise you, there might be leprechauns in this office."

Staring at the man, and then the piece of paper, and then back at the man again, Amelia was starting to wonder if he was partly deaf. And why she found it endearing that despite telling him off for giving her his number, he still did exactly that.
And for the first time in a very long time, Amelia found herself caught off guard.
Reaching her hand out, she grabbed the piece of paper. Her brown eyes remained still on the man in front of her.
"Errr. Good." Wait, what? Leprechauns? Her brows furrowed slightly at that. Blinking, the brunette shook her head and turned around, heading for the door. As she reached it, she leaned towards the thrash can by the door and threw the piece of paper inside it. "Have a nice day, Mr. Parks."

There seemed to be a pause in which the woman looked at him just as incredulously as before but there was a subtle change in her demeanour. It wasn't out of consternation but of disarm. Had he caught her off guard and if so, how?
Ethan nodded and smiled when she took the piece of paper only to have it thrown into the garbage can, along with his smile.
"M-miss." He leaned forward to stop her from discarding the paper but she had already gone out the door. Ethan pulled a face of disbelief before shrugging and going through the stack of papers. "You too, Miss Baker." He sighed before digging into his paperwork.
