The wonderful thing about being in college was that you could easily enough take a long weekend off just to recharge your batteries. Alright, maybe that had less to do with Erika being in college, and more with her having some semblance of influence left around campus. The schematics hardly had anything to say in this matter. The fact was that she and Sam had taken the Friday off, and had taken a "short" road trip towards the coast, where Erika had made sure that a yacht would be waiting for them to lick the last few beams of sun of summer.
Lifting one of the classes that had been put for them on the table between their sunbeds, Erika moved it to her lips and let out a content sigh. "We should do this more often," she began, brown eyes moving to the corner of her eyes, looking at the gorgeous blonde seated in the other sunbed. "I can't think of a better way to recharge our batteries."
She then continued to take a sip of the delicious... well, whatever it was. The only thing she was certain of was that the taste was fruity and there was definitely alcohol in it. "Almost makes me wish I put school off for a year," she sighed as she put the glass back down.
Sometimes it paid to have friends in high places. Even if you were in said high place yourself. The yacht that Erika had brought out just for them was exquisite. Sam wasn't one for the 'good life', choosing to seek her thrills elsewhere but once in a while, drinking something from a fancy glass sunbathing on the roof of their private yacht was quite something else.
Pushing her sunglasses up into her hair, Sam turned to face Erika and smiled. A genuine one, one that was free of layers and games. It took a lot to actually see something that rare but Erika almost always brought it out of the blonde.
She had been one of the only ones amongst the kids of the rich and famous who had gotten out of her way to befriend Sam and at that age, she had been appreciative of the gesture that it had resonated through the years. She was there when Sam's mother passed at the tender age of eight, she was there when her father started to slowly abandon her. Erika was easily the only friend she had.
The smile was warranted.
"If I remember correctly, I did try to pull you into another way of recharging our batteries but I believe you were in some kind of entanglement with another blonde." Sam smirked. She vaguely remembered Erika talking about her friend who had run away with her fiance on a music tour.
Sam pulled herself up by her elbows and took the glass flute and poured it down her throat in one shot. "You got anything stronger than this?" Sam asked before lying back down and placing her glasses over her eyes again.

"Hey," she began, sitting up and shielding her eyes from the sun with her hand. "That is so not fair!" Even so, the brunette couldn't quite keep the smile off of her face. Ah, the things she would have done if she wasn't married.
Ah well, it was better to let bygones be bygones.
And she was happily married, after all.
Smirking, the brunette laughed as she pushed herself out of the sunbed. She rose to her feet and stretched her arms above her head. "Of course I do," she replied simply, shrugging her shoulders. "You didn't think I came here unprepared, now did you?" After all, she was Erika Bellefonte. Or, Conner, but that was all in the details. She was known for her love for alcohol.
This changed nothing.
"Come on," she said as she started to move towards the front of the ship.

Sam threw her head back and laughed at Erika's response. "I joke I joke." She waved a dismissive hand in Erika's direction. Sam had been entangled in a redhead at the time anyway.
Shaking her head in amusement and in response to Erika's rhetorical question, Sam pushed herself up and followed Erika. "I don't mean to be those nosy gossips and lame besties who ask but how have you and Drew been?" She asked, stretching as she padded after Erika.

Looking at the blonde over her shoulder as she walked, Erika's eyebrows bounced playfully up and down. "We've been busy," she replied, letting the blond draw the conclusion herself.
She was glad that the wedding band on her finger hadn't made any changes to their heated relationship. Even now, so many months after them getting back together, they still acted like hormonal teenagers. In a way, she was glad. She hoped that wouldn't ever change.
"What about yourself? You found someone special yet?"

Sam raised her eyebrow and balked jokingly when Erika turned to answer her question. "Gross. I do not need to know about my sister's sexual escapades with her husband." She held a hand up in mock offense.
When the question was somehow turned back to her, the eyebrow once again went up and she winced just slightly. "Found implies that I was searching in the first place." She said simply before shaking her head.
"I can't stand what you and Drew have, though kudos to you two. I'll expect a cheesy reveal video of your baby one day." Sam chuckled, meaning no ill will towards Erika and her husband. What they had was just not for Sam in any capacity. She could have sex with anyone she wanted without a metal band around her finger.

"Sure you do," Erika retorted. "That's the sole reason you're here; to hear all the gory details of my sex life!" It was actually tempting. It wasn't like Erika would discuss those kind of things with Elsa, after all. That was a little too close to home.
Kneeling down in front of the cooler, Erika chuckled. "Come on, it can't be that bad." Sam was beautiful. Surely there had to be someone wanting to take her for a ride? If Erika was single, she'd surely do so. That much she knew.
Even so; Erika did understand what Sam meant. Marriage and commitment weren't for everyone. She could honor that and even agree with it to some extent. Erika was, and had always been a hopeless romantic. It was a good thing she had someone like Sam to keep her somewhat grounded. "Well, the world is lucky to have you free," she said, opening the cooler and gesturing for Sam to have her pick.

"Oh no you've caught me." Sam feigned getting caught, flailing her hands a little before she shook her head. She would probably gag Erika if she even tried.
When Erika insisted on the subject, Sam chuckled and shrugged. "I can say this much." She started with a smirk. "I pity the fool who makes me fall in love with them."
The sight of the cooler had Sam rushing towards it and she threw an arm around the brunette's shoulder. "Sweet baby Jesus, Erika Conner." She kissed the other girl's cheek and grabbed at one of the bottles. "I will enjoy this. And then we will dance. Or something."

The brunette's grin widened at the display her friend put on. She loved this part of Sam; she was so playful, yet at the same time, one could take her seriously. She wasn't one of those people that was so silly it made you roll your eyes and walk away. Instead, she made people want to laugh.
That was a good, and rather rare quality these days.
"I don't," she said, her smile warming. "I think they'd be rather lucky." After all, Sam had much to give if she just wanted to.
Laughing, Erika shrugged her shoulders, as if to say "what can you do". After all, she had come to this trip prepared. "Let your hair out, baby doll," she cooed as she grabbed herself a bottle, turning to face the other girl with a grin. "Don't hold back on my behalf."
"Hey, you're married. Quit flirting with me." She narrowed her eyes at the brunette before grinning. No one could make her feel this relaxed quite like the Bellefonte woman. Well, Conner now but semantics.
"Oh but you're drinking with me, sugar. And you're dancing with me. And then we'll see if the dolphins want some company." She nodded with a smirk, downing half the bottle in one gulp. "Oh...oh this is strong." Sam snorted and licked her lips.
"You have been holding out on me, Bellefonte." The blonde pointed to the brunette with the lip of the bottle in her direction. "But it's okay. I still love you or something."

"Me, flirt? With you? Never!" she said, feigning an innocent expression, as if there was nothing in this entire world she was guilty of. Well, harmless flirting was nothing to be guilty of. After all, she'd seen how her husband acted around some people. No, as long as it was harmless, she saw no issues with it. Especially not when this was Sam, someone Erika could easily place in her top three list of favorite people.
Laughing, Erika shook her head in light amusement. "As my lady commands." With that, she lifted the bottle to her lips and took a significantly smaller sip than her blonde counterpart.
"You better," she warned, tapping the blonde's nose with the tip of her index finger. "And I love you too, Sugar Plum."
Sam couldn't help but roll her eyes at Erika's playing innocent. She knew too much about the eldest Bellefonte twin to actually ever believe her assumed innocence at any time.
"Ooh, my lady. I like that. Maybe I should find myself a royal, just so I called officially be called that. Hmm..." Sam pretended to ponder over that fact. Marriage. What a laughable concept. She was still wondering why Erika decided to settle down. She wouldn't ask the telekinetic obviously.
Scrunching up her nose cutely when tapped, Sam intertwined her fingers with Erika's and started to dance to her own music. "Who doesn't?"
Pulling Erika close, Sam closed her eyes and for some reason tried to imagine what it felt being with someone who cared for her. She opened her eyes and looked over at Erika and laughed. "Sorry. Just...had a strange thought."

"Dude," she began, lifting her arms. "My mom would love to set you up with someone." It would likely be some kind of fat and rich oil baron, but whatever. It was all the same thing, wasn't it? At least, Erika's mom seemed to think that it was.
Unable to keep the grin off of her face as the blonde intertwined their fingers and started moving around, the brunette made kissy faces at her. "Good point!"
When she drew them closer, Erika wrapped her arms around Sam's shoulders and leaned onto the tips of her toes to kiss the top of her head. "What thought?" she asked, pulling her head back to look at the blonde with a thoughtful expression.
Sometimes Erika wondered why she was so opposed to letting people close. What was she so afraid of?

Sam raised an eyebrow, knowing what exactly that entailed. "Really, babe? Your mother? You'd let your mother set me up? I thought you loved me." She snorted before pushing her face away when the brunette started to make kissy faces at her.
The kiss on the head gave her some weird tingles that she tried to push away. "Ah nothing to worry your pretty little head over." She ruffled the brunette's silky dark hair and continued to dance.
"Bet Drew doesn't have moves like I do." Sam wriggled her eyebrows before breaking away from Erika to do a super unsexy disco point.

At that, Erika couldn't help but to laugh at. Lifting her hands in defense, Erika made sure to take a step away for good measure. "Hey, she'd at least find someone very rich. Isn't that half of the girls in America's dream? Becoming someone's trophy wife?" She couldn't quite picture Sam in that role though...
"You sure?" Erika enjoyed being the kind of person others could confide in. Especially someone as guarded as Sam, but she would never, ever push.
Again, the brunette laughed. Snorted, in fact. "Well, I can agree to that," she replied with a grin before lifting the bottle to her lips again and taking another sip. "He doesn't have the body for those kind of moves," she winked.
