truth be told he would have liked to live out in the forest, but the school had insisted that he live indoors, there just wasn't enough that he could do inside, being confined to a single room in a constructed building with others, it wasn't the people that he had a problem with, but the mistreatment of the land to build the place.
Opting to go and see if the living room was any better he pulled on a vest and went out, stepping out he went over the the kettle and put it on, getting a teabag he cut it open and poured the leaves into a cup, making tea this way was how he used to do it in his village, and helped to calm him down.
Turning on the T.V he flicked to the news, the only channel that he saw any need for in this world, unfortunately there was a piece on the deforestation of the amazon to feed the worlds lumber problems. "Ancestors forgive us..." He said before letting out a a low rumbling growl. Barely noticing the door open.

Logan had, of course, been inside her room working when the big beast man had moved in. She had seen it all through the cameras, both the personally set up ones and the actual school cameras. The man did not seem to fit in at the school. He looked more animal than human. Definitely not something you would see in a heavily populated city or something like that. Logan had no desire to go out and chat with him, mostly just because she had things to do other than entertain someone new. it wasn't him, it was here. She just didn't care.
However, after a while, she got hungry. But she wanted to eat something hot instead of the groceries she had brought into her room. Maybe she should consider setting up a stove of some sort in her room as well? She mulled it over and made a mental note of it as she put her computer on lock and headed outside. The boy was there, making some tea actually. It was faintly surprising to see the big man make something so delicate But then again she had seen a lot of things. So the sight did nothing to change her expression from it's usual neutral boredness.
Instead she simply moved around the man as he cycled through the tv channels, heading to the fridge and taking some food out. it wasn't much, just some ramen to be honest. She wasn't going for heavy, just hot. She was filling a cup with water to heat in the microwave when the big man spoke. It made her glance over to see what he had found. Turned out to be a documentary on the deforestation happening in the Amazon. A shame, really. Much as Logan's world was set in technology, she wasn't one for taking away the uncivilized parts. Of course, she didn't care all too much, but she wasn't for it either. But she went back to what she was doing anyways

He had barely registered the little woman, not that she was that small, just everyone seemed to be small compared to him, and was taken aback that she had not even said hello, something that would have incurred a beating in his old home. "It is such a shame, the way that these new Americans, they pollute and scar the world. Without thought to the planet." He said not looking at her.
"The name is Jacob, in case you would like to know." he said turning and smiling to her with a sight grin, showing off the impressive fangs that had replaced his teeth so long ago. Looking at her properly she puzzled him deeply, he didn't quite understand why anyone would like to look like that, when natural is so beautiful.

So the large beast decided to speak. She figured as much. Although, as he spoke, she glanced from him to the television, eyeing over the things the workers were doing to the land. "I guess we're monsters after all." She replied drily, taking out the now hot cup of water and pouring it into a bowl with the noddles. She grabbed a form and pressed the noddles down to keep them under and softened them. Meanwhile, the man spoke again.
"Logan." She gave in answer, looking at him. "I take it you aren't usually in these sort of buildings."

"No... I prefer the outdoors myself, the way I was raised frowned upon such places as these." He said returning to the T.V, taking a sip from his tea he thought back to the times him and the chief would have such conversations.
"Forgive me If it seems rude, but I don't understand, why would you dress the way you do, why hide the natural form." He said, curiosity getting the better of him, he had seen many people embrace many trends, just never understood why.

Logan simply nodded. She expected as much, given his appearance. He seemed like he was born in the wild instead of a hospital. How very interesting. Still, she wasn't too engaged into the conversation as she checked on her ramen and then looked back to him as he asked her a question on her clothes and appearance. It could've been a rude question, but he seemed to be truingn not to upset her with it. So she decided to humor him.
"Some pick styles of dress that they think would be more appealing to others, while some simply chose styles that they believe fit them and express who they are." She answered simply

"That makes a little more sense, back in my village, we would be encouraged to make our own clothes, hunt the animal and then the clothes are more personal to you." He said, it was obvious that they both came from very different upbringings, but that was no reason that they couldn't get along.
"You know its funny, how in trying to make this world better for everyone, with there mass production, their machines to make designer clothes, they have really killed the planet, and doomed themselves to a bleak future." He was really thinking out loud by now, but it was nice to have someone to think with.

Logan simply nodded once more as the bear of a man went on, taking a seat at the table and eating. Clearly, this man was some sort of tribal, or just completely insane. Although he did mention others; not that Logan was inclined to believ anyone at face value until she knew them well. Still, he was interesting enough the listen to. And he certainly seemed to enjoy talking.
This time he talked about machines, and how humans were destroying the world in their effort to improve it. That actually managed to get a faint quirk of the lips out of the girl. She was amused mostly because it was true. "Humans are greedy by nature. What did you expect?" She asked rhetorically. But still, it was something she had learned growing up, and learned well. Everyone wanted something. Some way and somehow.

"Not all people are greedy, only people who have forgotten what it is like to have nothing, to live off the land. New america is a classic example of biting the hand that feeds you." He said to her as she sat down to eat. He could smell the food, and to be frank it was revolting. He was thankful that he had his tea to mask the scent.
"Take the Tibetan monks, they need nothing, but the clothes on their backs, and the food they grow." There was something that told him that he would disagree with this girl for a long time, but he had to try and make some headway if they lived together.

As she began to eat, he argued against her words, saying that only the people who had forgotten what it was like having nothing were greedy. The statement could've made her chuckle had she not already had the noodles in her mouth. A majority of the people in the world had forgotten what is was like to have absolutely nothing and start from the bottom. Of course, there were those that did. Logan knew she had been luckier after her parents left. She wasn't down playing the poor.
Yet she still believed that at their core people were greedy. Obviously this bear of a man disagreed, and probably always would. Which was why he was bringing up an example to argue. But seeing as she had nothing else to do, Logan answered. "Point taken. But not everyone is a monk. Even if you were right, a majority of the world is full of greed." She replied drily.

"Yes, that is true not everyone is a monk, which is a shame really, as monks are also the happiest of people." He said with a sigh, it was almost surreal to be having this conversation, with a person from each side of the argument. "Not that I'm saying we should all shave our heads, no just some of the more liberal and simplistic lifestyles are best."
He took another sip of his tea and looked into the cup, the leaves where amassing in the bottom of the cup and forming the shapes and icons that he was taught to read as a child. "You see, there is no right and wrong, there is only what has happened, its too late for the forest, even with the whole planet helping." He said sadly.

Logan listened to him as he continued, claiming monks to be the happiest people. She could see them being happy, but maybe not the happiest. But what did she know of Tibetan monks? Not much. They didn't matter to her. They didn't bother in her business. Unlike this man and his questions. Although they weren't that much of a bother really. Sort of.
"That's a rather gloomy thought." Logan mused at his last bit. "And can you really say that's not wrong when it's upset you so much?" She questioned, pointing at the tv screen with her form

"Well that is true, but just because I feel so strongly about it doesn't make it fundamentally wrong. Only that I perceive it to be wrong. There lies the major difference, The chief prided himself in being able to separate the two and teach us to do the same." He said taking another sip from his tea and staring deeply into it.
"Could you say that the world would be wrong to forgo any form of technology? if it was to save the planet?" He asked, curious of her answer. There was something calming about the conversation, it engaged him in a way that most things couldn't.

Logan raised one eyebrow slightly as the man went on. Apparently he had a chief. So she had been right about the tribal business. And apparently he was educated enough to try his hand at philosophy. Or pretend to know what he was talking about. Either way, Logan was getting entertainment out of this.
Then came his question, and Logan actually smirked a little. Truly, she would've never imagined she'd be discussing something like this with the man. Opposite they might be, but Logan was actually beginning to think she might enjoy this. "I could see the answer being yes, but also being no. It's a matter of what exactly you mean by 'saving the planet.'"

"What I mean by saving the planet, is allowing it to grow unhindered by the wants and needs of the many, not having companies drill into it and destroy it to produce the latest phone or toy." He said with obvious distaste for the idea. He hated the idea of a company destroying the land that his ancestors relied on for food and water, that people used to survive.
"People do not require those things to survive, back in the times of the ancestors, people relied on the land for food and water, to keep them alive, and they where happy, they kept on going fine, and now all people care about is if they can buy a damn Ipod." He said sadly.
