Clarice yawned as she started to move out of her room on the ship. She was sharing with some student which, honestly, was something of an annoyance to her but she knew she could handle it. After all, a few days out in the middle of the ocean couldn't end too badly. And it wasn't like she had to constantly be around the students. Not will all there was to do on the ship. She knew that it was going to be great, just as she knew that there was bound to be something to drink on this boat if it got too much.
But in all seriousness, she was actually rather pleased to be here. Claire had never been on a cruise before and she could only imagine the number of things she might be able to get away with while she was in international waters. Now, she was going to do all she could to not get into too much trouble. She didn't want someone on board to get hurt when there wasn't much medical staff around to help them, which cut down on the amount of jesting and scaring she had planned.
Tonight, however, none of that mattered. She just wanted to see what it was like to be out in the crisp night air, cruising on a luxury ship. After all, how many people get the chance to do something like this? And my, was it beautiful. It was probably one of the first times since she got on that she felt at peace. Then again, she had been sleeping most of the day away. She figured this excursion would be the perfect excuse to just not give a shit about a damned thing she was normally supposed to care for. Sure, she could have stayed back and just simply gone clubbing over her spring break, but then she'd be missing out on such a view.
Clarice, wearing a pair of jeans, grey shirt, and a black sweater that tied off in the front, leaned over the rail along the deck of the ship. The breeze felt nice against her cheeks and the stars up above were so clear. It was almost perfect, really. Not even a child could ruin this. The scents of the salty water that surrounded them, mingling with the clean scents of soap that were still clinging to her made her feel so at ease. And the sounds, oh the sweet sounds of the ocean waves gently ebbing and flowing all around them. It was like she was literally inside one of those meditation soundtracks. A small part deep down wanted this vacation to never end. And then there was the other part of her, the part that wondered what sort of trouble would ruin it.
