Planet earth is blue
and there's nothing I can do.
There he was. In an unfamiliar school, watching Life On Mars. At seven thirty at night, just waiting for curfew. Like a champ.
Yep.
"D.I. Tyler!" the tv chimed. The Gov's voice was as imposing as ever, which only served to add to the comic effect of the moment. Paxton sunk deeper into the couch, clutching the dvd player's remote with a silly, familiar grin. He was wearing jeans and a red t-shirt that had a overly-washed-looking logo for the Flash. It was a welcomed change to the uniform he was growing used to. Though, it was worth mentioning that he had a blazer draped over the side of the couch. If he hoped to escape all constraints of formal wear, he was taking a step back with the jacket.
A quick press of a button, and the scene was suddenly completely transformed. Now Sam Tyler was at the beginning of his journey and David Bowie was singing.
"To the girl with the mousy hair..." David Bowie began. Paxton began mumbling in unison with the rest of the lyrics, "But her mommy is yelling no, and her daddy has told her to go. But her friend is no where to be seen, now she walks through her sunken dream..."
The music came to an abrupt end when Sam was hit by a car. If Paxton thought the sudden, dramatic turn was out of place, his expression didn't show it. There was a lull in the music, then it began again.
"Take a look at the law man, beating up the wrong guy. Oh man. Wonder if he'll ever know, he's in the best-selling show." More mumbling from the sleep-deprived teenager. He was actually quite fond of the song, which would explain his need to sing the words aloud in the lounge. Not that it mattered- he hadn't noticed anyone in the room with him in the last half hour since he arrived.
