Run, Fall, And Get Up

Devyn finished up her stretches as she got ready to go on her second run of the day since she was feeling partially energized today. It was likely because it was cloudy and there was going to likely be some rain fall with a chance of a thunderstorm at some point. Days where the sun was covered up just made her feel like she could do anything. Clearly the cause of her power and due to how being out in the sun just made her feel weak and tired so the opposite was true when the sun was away. After sending her girlfriend a flirting text to tease her she was off.

Headphone in ear and her music started to play as she ran ahead on the way to the woods so she could run on the trail that went through the forest. Sure she had a route around the school but there was something about the woods that made her feel at homes and plus she liked the smell of nature around her as she would run. The run was even going pretty well, Devyn getting a little too into her song and closing her eyes on a straight path that would lead into the woods in a few. However; something or more specifically someone ended up getting in the way of that straight shot.

Devyn had only noticed them because a shift in the wind and a new scent hitting her in the face had her opening her eyes. Just in time as she was about to rush full speed into a little girl, but thankfully she managed to dodge to the side. This caused her to end up hurting her ankle in the process and end up falling to the ground hard. "Ouch." Devyn muttered through gritted teeth as she paused her music and looked for the person she had almost crashed into to make sure they were alright. "Yo girl, you cool?" Devyn asked as she rolled over to sit up.

So this was the school she thought as she stood outfront of the place and looked around. It seemed so strange, not because it was a new school but the fact she knew that all the people she saw she knew where gifted as well. Her head was still working all the facts out of not being some normal girl. But you know it was not so bad, Except the part where she could tear a person apart with her bare hands that was a bit interesting, or the fact only a few seconds ago she saw a guy breath fire.. Yeah that was still not normal to her. But maybe soon she would adapt and be used to seeing these odd things.

Her eyes kept looking about taking things in and trying to figure the whole thing out. Now she had power on her mind she was thinking about her own, and then a single thought popped into her head. She was like a real life version of the Hulk well besides not turning a green color and being extremely large. This thought made her laugh a little and that caused a few people to stare at her for a moment. She blushed slightly and looked down at the ground sheepishly

It was time to move on now after a good deal of walking and singing to herself she found herself out on a path walking though the forest. Wow it was actually really pretty. Her eyes scanned up to the trees and the sky above taking the view in, it made her feel like she was home, hmm maybe this place would be fun, now she just needed to find a place to take a ATV mud ridding. Now that would really be fun right now.. Dang she would have to call her parents and ask about getting that sent down here, well maybe first asking if that would be okay..

She was so far into her own thoughts she did not even hear the foot steps or at first the older girl running, until she was almost ran right over, but the girl dodged just in time and this left Kay standing their mouth open just staring for a second before she herd the voice.. Looking down she offered a quick shake of her head to snap back and offered a smile then extended her hand to help her up.

"Yeah I am okay are you? "

Almost running into someone would likely hurt more than hurting herself and that was why Devyn did her best to make sure she didn't run into the person. Still, while she was a mutant her power did not give her super agility in this form and thus her quick movement had the backlash of her injuring her ankle. She didn't know if she had sprained it, if something was broken, or if it simply was pulled in a way it was not used to and hurt because of it. Devyn was not sure, but she would check and find out soon enough. It was good to see that the girl was alright, and now looking at her Dev could tell this was a young one. Adorable.

"Eh, think I hurt my ankle but I'll be alright." Devyn said as she took the extended hand but still used most of her own help to get up since she didn't want to accidentally pull the girl down with her. The girl was much smaller than her and Devyn was pretty much all muscle so she didn't want to pull the girl down and end up hurting her after having avoid hurting her the first time. "The names Devyn, you are?" Devyn introduced herself while shaking the hand she had not let go of as she got to her feet. She winced slightly as she felt a sharp pain in her ankle.

Yup, it had to be sprayed but yay for not being broken. She could work with a sprained ankle, it was no big deal and it would just add to her collection of scar tissue down there. "What are you doing out here by yourself?" Devyn then asked, because they were almost in the woods and while it was daylight it was still not always the best idea to go in their alone unless you knew you could protect yourself. Then again, the woods on the school grounds generally didn't have any dangerous animals lurking in them besides the mutants who could turn into said dangerous animals.

This girl seemed pretty interesting, especially with that fact she completely avoided running a person over in a split second moment, and was not bothered by a injury. Say nothing about the fact of still acting decently nice after all of it. This made Kay a bit at ease with her and offered some respect for the actions. Kay looked up at her once she was standing and could tell something was wrong, probably sprained ankle by best guess.

"Sorry you got hurt... and Im Kaylyne or Kay for short.. Are you going to be okay ? "

Kay always worried about others and cared about peoples well being, pretty much the caring type with a really big heart well was just her thing. Which was pretty much opposite of what she was in Bellefonte for but hey just showed never to judge a book by its cover.

She turned her attention back when asked a question well then that was a good one she guessed, and understood why she might ask it. After all Kay was pretty small, and looked more like she was probably eleven or so then thirteen. Either way was still young and most people where thrown off by her always being outdoors and enjoying nature and never worrying about stuff.

"Oh umm.. I kinda just ended up here, I just arrived at the school so just kind of exploring...Plus Figured I could find some ATV trails maybe.. " It was pretty much the truth and hey who could judge that it was pretty plain to see Kay was not the girly girl type, she right now as it was, was dressed in boots blue jeans and a plaid t-shirt. Plus the southern accent of being a backwoods sort aided with the entire thing.

"Plus I sort of just enjoy the outdoors, and the getting used to this place is kind of overwhelming.. an I try and avoid stress and such.. it tends to cause issues really bad ones.."

It was good to meet someone young, Devyn always like messing around with the younger ones; especially because she felt a void ever since she lost her little pup boy. She just hopes he was doing alright wherever he was. Dev also started to wonder if maybe she should like leave to go get an actual shirt on since she was currently wearing a t-shirt and no bra. Nothing new for her, but whenever she was around young ones she felt the slight need to not be super flirtatious with her words or body. "It's cool, getting hurt is nothing new for me and it's nice to meet you Kay. You can call me Dev if you like, for short." Devyn responded as she did a shooing motion with her hand. Shooing away the fact that she was hurt and treating it like it was no big deal.

The injury honestly was not that big of a deal to her, even if it did hurt. "Ah, I see." Devyn responded with a small nod when the younger girl spoke of how she just sort of ended up there. Devyn understood very well how sometimes you could just get lost in your thoughts and end up in a place you didn't intend to. Funny how that sort of thing worked, as if your body knew where you would really want to go while you were on autopilot. The bit about the whole ATV trails had Devyn chuckling and remembering when she used to go on those things with her dad when she was a lot younger.

"Well I don't think you will find any of those around here. We have a horse trail, hiking trails, and even some slope trails in the winter but no ATVs. However; I'm pretty sure the place where we going camping as a school have some." Devyn informed her as she thought on it. She was pretty sure there were no ATV trails, would be a bit too much for the students and the school and yet another thing the school would have to worry about people getting hurt on. Dev heard the accent; not that she really could tie it to a specific place, and could tell by the girl's clothing that she was not uppity girl and probably the kind that would like to rough it up in the woods from time to time.

Potential friend, located. Kay confirmed that she did enjoy the outdoors with her next words and how she was trying to get used to the place. "Well if you are looking to unwind then you have wondered to the perfect place. The woods are perfect if you are looking for a bit a peace and getting away from the masses." Devyn informed her with another nod, then bending over to get a look at her ankle. It was started to swell a little but she ignored it. "So, what's your power?" Dev soon asked, not connecting the girl’s earlier comment to be the hint to it and just through too much stress gave her a panic attack.

Okay so the chicks name was Dev, and from what Kay could see she was by far a very interesting person, for starters she was acting like a broken ankle was not big deal and basically shrugging it off. Yeah that was not really normal, but then again this entire school and its students where far from normal so what was the point in really being shocked by these things. Then their was the way she talked that was a bit off to but then again a lot of people where different then where Kay had come from, so that was just something she had to get used to as well.

The woods where actually really nice, it was peaceful and relaxed, but the fact their where no trails for ATV's was a bit upsetting, guess that would be the one thing Kay would try and work on while she was here, surely she was not the only person in the entire school who enjoyed taking some dirt trails and having fun country style. Their was always country people every where so she would just need to find a few here and go from their she supposed.

The mention of powers that was a topic she was still unsure how to talk about. Yeah it was something she should get used to, and not feel so strange talking about, but hey it was a pretty odd topic over all. I mean you go from thinking superpowers are only on T.V and then all of the sudden here comes the big ol waaammm and hey look im a mutant and now im in a fancy school where every one has a power.

"Oh um my power is Ire state.. Not sure fully yet all what it does.. I just know I am not a good person to make angry.. Sort of like the hulk is best way for me to explain it.. From what is known basically when I become scare, angry, hurt and such my body creates something that makes me a lot like the hulk just not green or really huge, but everything else pretty much the same.."

Wow that was a bit long winded, but that did sum it up pretty much, though she still was not sure exactly how her powers worked once they where in place since so far she has not tested it out to its potential. That would be one of the things she needed to do soon.

Devyn thought the younger girl was certainly interesting and could figure that they could end up being friends. Or at the very least Devyn could help her out with a few things if the girl asked for help that was, or looked like she needed it. For now the girl seemed fine so there was no worry there. Devyn did worry about her ankle slightly, but that was just how much it would swell before she went back to put some ice on it. Worse case, she could always go into her other form to get weight off of it and make her way back to her room that way. Plus her other form would also be like putting ice on it; sort of, because her ability made her cold to the touch.

The girl did seem disappointed about the school not having any ATV trails but didn't say anything on it so Dev left it at that. Now the topic was on powers, which was practically one of the most basic mutant conversations for those who could not tell what someone power was or had not seen it. Devyn in this case could sort of tell certain people were mutants based on smell when she was really close, but she was not getting anything from the other girl. Still, the younger girl obviously had to be a mutant or she would not have been here and Devyn listened closely as she explained what she could do. "Ah, so basically like being empowered by rage. Well, in this case any emotions. Damn, so then you must have to stay in a pretty good mood most of the time then, right?" Devyn asked.

Dev personally knew that she was good at acting like things were okay, but actually being able to stay in a good mood all the time was hard. This girl practically had to be a ray of sunshine all the time or else she was going to break something of someone’s. Impressive. The question was returned, as expected. "Oh I basically can manipulate shadows and general darkness to form a beast of sorts out of shadows. I could show you if you like. It's a bit easier for me to show then explain." Devyn pointed out as she chuckled a little. Yeah, words were not her strong point. She was all about the physical.
