There was much internal debate as to why he signed himself up to be auctioned off. Maybe the charitable side of him wanted to find a good cause and helping fellow mutants get a normal life was as good a cause as any. Then again, another side of him - one that was a lot more realistic and true to the nineteen year old's nature, found that a bevy of beautiful people going into a bidding war for a date with him was so appealing.
Not that there were a bevy of beautiful people he thought would go on a frenzy for him but that did not stop him from coming on to the stage with a cheeky dimpled grin. Waving to the very thin crowd as he was introduced to the audience with a trail of his hobbies, likes and dislikes, Ezra scanned the crowd to make awkward (more awkward to the person he was looking at) eye contact with them. Also to see if he knew anyone there.
Or one particular person.
But she wasn't there so he continued his spectacle, going into ridiculous poses like The Thinking Man, a hero pose and even did the Egyptian. Although he was ready to not even get one bid out of this, he did hope something good would come out of this so he was going to enjoy himself as much as possible.

Alice was having fun, her hair was doing what it was supposed to and the fair was the most exciting thing she had done since she moved to the school. Though if she was being honest, it was the most fun she had ever. Then she saw the auction and got excited, because there was this really hot guy standing on the stage being goofy so she decided to bid on him. Even though she was pretty sure he was he was at least eighteen and too old for her. Was there even a rule on bidding on someone older than you? She shrugged it off and called out her bid "Two hundred"

Just as much as he was prepared to not be bid upon, he was just as much unprepared for the bidder to look like they just got out of kindergarten.
He looked to his announcer when the redhead came up with a pretty high bid for him. His smile frozen, his eyes should have said it all. Why is a child bidding on me? Was that actually allowed? Don't they have like...a rule against minors bidding on older kids or something?
And how did she get hold of such an amount of money to begin with? He hoped someone else bid on him because if he had to go on a date with a kid, he'd probably just shut down and be awkward as all hell.
Please for the love of God, someone else bid on me.

Amara grinned as she saw the handsome man up on the stage. He was cute and she liked his confidence, besides that, he also wasn't all that bad of a model... if that's what he was going for. She couldn't quite tell to be honest. She’d saved up a bit of money for this event though and even if she had a limited amount, she was still determined to have a little fun.
She was a bit surprised at the high first bid, but she was able to work with it still. Amara glanced at the young girl in amusement, wondering how on earth she’d gotten her hand on that much money, but didn’t spend too much time thinking about it. “Two hundred fifty,” she offered.
She wasn’t really here to pick up a date or anything, but she’d thought it would be a fun way to donate to charity and to get to know some of the people she’d be taking classes with. Besides, he looked like he had a fun personality and she was looking forward to getting to know him… if she could hold out and actually win.

The signal would come through via a cell phone signal, as Elsa was still busy finalizing details in the Selina Taylor auction. She couldn't very well be in two places at once, but through the marvels of modern technology, she could certainly send forth texts and orders. It was simple: it was time to clear the stages and get ready for the next round of bidding. Thus whoever had the highest bid would be determined the winner.
thus the auctioneer would then hit their gavel and point it at Amara. "Sold, for two hundred and fifty," would be announced. The winning bidder would have to come forth to arrange the various details, how they would pay, when the date would be, what package and so forth. Elsa herself would be along in good time to finalize things, but that certainly wasn't anything that had to happen right away.
no, the most pressing thing was probably for winner and won to get together and meet, finalize their details and figure things out.

When another girl bid on him, someone who looked a lot older than the redhead from before, Ezra's relief was quite palpable. He made finger pistols at her and continued to strut his stuff one stage. He didn't think anyone would actually go any higher than that.
And when it didn't, the grin on his face was wide and he held two thumbs up at the girl who won the bid. He gestured for her to meet him out to the side for them to figure out what they were going to do on their date.
"Hey, hi!" He waved at her, his smile so wide his dimples looked like the could cut into his cheeks. "That was a really high bid. Am I that worth it?" He put his hands on his waist and posed a little.

Amara chuckled at his antics and paused as if thinking about it, "I suppose we'll see, won't we?" she joked before holding out her hand to shake, "I'm Amara, by the way," she introduced herself. He was definitely cute and apparently rather sweet. She was happy she'd chosen him to bid on.
Even though she'd just gotten here early to move in and check everything out, she already felt happy to be back in Montana. Some part of her was a bit wary of being in school once again, since she'd crashed so hard the last time she'd been here at Bellefonte, but for right now, she had something else to focus on. Someone fun and interesting and quite handsome.
"So, do you have any preference for which date you'd like?" she asked, her tone warm and polite. The only one she wasn't so fond of was the movie option, but that was because she preferred conversation as a way of getting to know people better and she wasn't too sure that watching a movie would provide much opportunity for that.

Ezra grabbed hold of the woman's hand and shook it. "I'll make sure you won't regret it. Although it is for a good cause so...you did a good thing?" He chuckled before nodding at her introduction. "Well, I spose you already know me. Although the announcer may have overexaggerated my fondness of taking long walks on the beach."
The question had him perking up a little and nodding. "The outdoorsy one sounds awesome. But hey, you won the date so you get to pick!"

Amara nodded and grinned, "It was a completely selfless sacrifice on my part, I assure you," she replied with a laugh. "I'll do anything for the sake of charity," she added with a facetious smile. Amara was an activist for the communities she was a part of, which meant she cared a great deal about mutant rights, but that wasn't why she was here.
"I quite enjoy the outdoors myself, so it sounds good to me," she agreed. A romantic dinner between two people who didn't know each other just sounded like a recipe for awkward that she was honestly glad to pass up. She also happened to love horses, so really this was turning out to be even better than she'd thought it might.

Ezra laughed along with Amara before he pumped his fist in victory when she agreed to the outdoorsy date.
"Yay! Okay. Let's exchange details and I'll come over to your place maybe next weekend?" He asked before tilting his head slightly. "Oh wait...are you from school? BA I mean? That would probably make things a lot easier." He grinned.
He then debated to ask his next question though it was definitely important to him. He knew it was taboo to ask but he would probably just be wondering about it the whole time anyway so he might as well get it over with now. "I don't mean to be rude or anything but how old are you?" He asked, curiosity lacing his voice.

Amara grinned, "Absolutely," she agreed as she gave him her phone number. "And yes, I'm from Bellefonte as well," she added as she wrote down her dorm number too.
Amara smiled warmly at his question, "I'm quite happy that you asked, actually. I'm 23," she responded easily. And she knew from the announcer that he was 19. Four years was little high for her, but at the same time, she wasn't looking for an actual date, just the chance to get to know the students here that she'd left such a long time ago. "I'm looking forward to our date. See you in a week," she offered with a smile before walking off to find her sister, Toby, who'd come out to Montana for the fair.
