It wasn't often that her father was out of town. Usually, her mother agreed with her father, though, on the rare occasions that her father had to go out of town, it was almost as if her mother eased up and allowed Jules to be just another teenage girl. Of course, this meant that Jules spent every moment she could away from home and in town, as she was rarely allowed to go out.
At least not as often as she would have liked.
Now she could though, and she wasn't about to waste a single moment of it. Instead, she'd taken the older family dog out for a walk. Charlie, the lovable and trustworthy collie her family had had for as long as Jules could remember. She probably could have brought their other dog too, but considering how he was just a puppy still, she figured she'd be better off walking a dog that was actually trained.
Walking through the park, Jules kept the end of the leash tied around her hand and wrist. The dog kept walking by her side, casually looking around as people walked past them - though, the second the dog spotted a squirrel, there was no holding back.
Before Jules could even react, Charlie started dragging her forward, causing her to trip over the leash and fall forward, crashing straight into someone walking down the path in front of her. Tumbling to her feet with the leash still tied around her wrist, the brunette issued a surprised yelp.
