Oh Great, Stuck Again

[Riley Forrester]

"Just perfect..." She grumbled, blowing the hair out of her eyes again. But as she said it, Riley didn't  sound like Riley. Her voice was stuck in  another voice again. And of course it had to be a guy's voice. Coupled with the fact that Riley already looked like a guy, and had dressed  sort of like a guy that day, she was just asking to be mistaken for one. Honestly, basically the sole indicator that she was a girl was her voice. She didn't have some big chest like some of the other females on the campus, and what she did have was usually hid my her clothes if they were baggy enough.

She pinched the bridge of her nose as she headed towards the student lounge. She could wait it out there until her voice finally returned to normal. And if she was lucky, she wouldn't run into anyone. She was still really new to the school, and she didn't want to suddenly be mistaken for a boy only to have people freak out or something when her voice returned to normal. She didn't care too much, but still. It would be annoying. She didn't mind it when she purposely disguised herself as a boy. But being accidentally mistaken for one was a bit more tedious because there was the awkwardness of the situation.

"How could this get any worse..." She grumbled as Riley reached the student lounge and opened the door. However, fate must've heard her, for someone else was already opening the door. Suddenly Riley was staring at a girl that was around her height. She kinda had similar hair too, only hers was long. "Oh shit, sorry." Riley said instinctively.

    Selina was chilling in the student lounge, enjoying a day of carefree irresponsibility. It was a bit hotter than normal, and she was feeling sluggish in general, so she was laying on the couch and staring off into space very productively. She’d been staring at the wall for a few minutes… or a few hours, she wasn’t entirely sure as it was just one of those kinds of days, when she noticed her mouth was incredibly dry.


    Usually Selina brought a water bottle with her everywhere she went, so she searched in her backpack but didn’t find anything. She groaned in frustration and forced herself to get up… slowly. It probably took her about ten minutes or so in total to lift herself up off of the couch. Selina lazily made her way to the door, only to find it already opening. She stared in confusion for a few brief seconds before the voice of the person speaking to her registered.


    Selina blinked lethargically and finally processed the words that had been spoken, “Oh no, don’t worry about it,” she offered with a lazy smile as she took in the appearance of the man in front of her. Goddamn, he was fine. Why hadn’t she seen him around before? “Is there some way I can make it up to you fine sir?” she asked with a suggestive lilt in her words.

Riley almost face palmed herself at her slip up. Shit, she hadn't meant to speak! But then again she didn't want to be rude so she really had been stuck in a crappy situation. Still, it took the girl a few seconds before she actually answered. She seemed a little out of it, to be honest. "You ok?" Riley asked, looking slightly concerned at the stranger before her. But then she processed what the girl said next.

Wait, is she... Oh shiet, she thinks you're a guy and she's flirting with you. Riley realized with a blink. And double crap she had been checking Riley out. Crap, what should Riley do? Act stupid? No, that would be too... Well, stupid. Riley thought. But she couldn't think of a proper response so her mouth made one for her unconsciously. "Uh... Although that sounds really tempting... I'm... Not so sure that's a good idea. And um, I think it was my fault actually." Riley managed. Oh goddammit brain! What was that?! Riley mentally berated herself. Wow, what a terrible way to say no. Now Riley probably looked like one of those mysterious whatever types. She only prayed this chick wasn't into something like that.

And she also kinda set herself up to owe a dept! Shiiiiieeeetttt, She thought, running her fingers through her hair instinctively. Which was probably a bad idea.

    Selina nodded, “I’m fine just a bit dehydrated,” she admitted, her voice still a little rough from disuse. She was coming back to her senses pretty quickly though. Selina had gotten good at adapting on a short notice.


    Selina laughed gently as the boy stuttered, “Hmm, you positive you’re not up for it?” she asked, her voice sultry and inviting as she took a minor step closer to him. He was so cute, and he also had a good sense of fashion which was always a plus. If he was really determined to get away from her, she’d easily let him go, but she couldn’t resist at least trying. “I promise I don’t bite,” she teased.


    “Although, if you really want to owe me something, I certainly won’t object,” she added with a low chuckle. “If you’re not comfortable with making this room a little warmer, then maybe you’d be up for lunch? I haven’t eaten yet,” she admitted. Perhaps he was the type to like taking things slowly. She could adjust. Besides, her stomach growled in agreement with the idea that food should be in her near future.

Riley was glad it wasn't anything too serious, so she smiled just a little bit in relief and nodded her head. "Ah. Nothing too bad then." She decided. Aaannnnd once again great job stating the obvious, Riles. Riley thought.

Holy hell this chick was a vixen. That voice... It sent shivers down Riley's spine despite her best efforts. Damn. Seriously Riley thought with a blink before she shook her head. Hell, she was even blushing a little. Riley almost never did that. "Uh... No... I, um, still don't think that's a such good idea for you to do that. With me." She added quickly, still sounding a little hesitant and unsure. "Even if you don't bite." Seriously, she didn't want to scare the shit out of the girl by her suddenly finding out Riley wasn't exactly sporting the equipment the girl expected.

Oh crap, she did take the debt thing. Shiet. And then the comment about warming up th- oh god she was talking about doing that in... "Lunch would be fine." Riley replied quickly, averting her head slightly. She hated blushing, even though it made her all the cuter. It made her feel vulnerable, and she hated that. Once she felt a little calmer, she glanced back and smiled a bit. "Any ideas on where to go then?" She asked, hearing the girl's growling stomach and smirking a little. She definitely was hungry

    Selina smiled and shook her head, “Not yet at least,” she joked. "I have full faith in my bad karma to screw me over by the end of the summer," she added with a grin.


    Selina then studied him in interest. He was blushing. Was he unsure about his skill? Really, she wasn’t that harsh a judge unless the man had earned her ire. “I’m not so scary as all that, am I?” Selina asked in a gentler tone as she looked him over. She didn’t want to terrify the poor kid. “I suppose I have a habit of coming on a bit strong. Didn’t mean to freak you out,” she offered as she stepped back a little to give the guy some room. She enjoyed playing the game, but not when it made somebody else uncomfortable.


    He was so adorable. Damnit, it was hard not to tease him. Selina then merely shrugged in answer to his question, “Anywhere but the cafeteria, to be honest. That place is so mediocre I think I’ve actually lost my ability to taste good food since coming here,” she said with a dry laugh. “There are some good places downtown, but I don’t have a car or anything so we’d probably have to take the bus,” she added as she was simply thinking out loud.

Riley fully smirked at that. "Trust me, I can relate." She assured the other girl. With all the crap that had gone down, Riley could definitely relate that karma was a real grade-A biatch sometimes.

Riley blinked at the girl's words. She thought Riley was afraid of her? She felt the laughter rise in her throat and could do nothing to stop it from coming out and making her throw her head back. "It's not you I'm scared of, trust me. Although I have a feeling your ability to woo others is definitely something to be feared." Riley said with a lopsided grin, a bit of her confidence returning with her mirth. "Trust me, it ain't you. I'm just... Kinda on edge right now is all. Don't think that... Um, that sort of activity would be good for me at the current moment is all." Riley explained. Cause you gonna be in for a big surprise if we end up doing something. Riley thought.

When she made a joke about the cafeteria, Riley grinned. "Good to know so I don't ruin my taste buds. I'm fairly new here." She admitted with a shrug. At the mention of taking a bus, Riley blinked. "Oh, I've got a motorcycle if you wanna take that." She said instinctively. It was her pride and joy, and she had taken it right back once she returned to America. Wait, I'm offering her a ride on my bike? Oh god that could be... Interesting. Riley realized after she said it. Another mental facepalm incoming

    Selina grinned as Riley laughed and was slightly relieved she hadn’t terrified the young boy. “My ability to woo? Or seduce?” she teased. “I can understand that,” Selina then offered when Riley claimed he wasn’t into sex right now. She wasn’t ever one to push in that regard, unless the other person was very clearly into it.


    Selina smiled warmly as she heard that the boy was new, “I only just got here a year ago, so I‘m not exactly an expert on things, but I can definitely help you save your taste buds,” she added with a laugh. “I made it a priority to find the good places to eat around here so I wouldn’t end up starving,” she explained. She also made a lot of her own food, but she had enough money in her account now, thanks to her new job, that she could afford a lunch out.


    Selina looked up at the offer of the bike ride, “Really? I’d love a ride, if you’re serious,” Selina replied instantly. The one ride she’d had on Vera’s motorcycle had been fantastic. If she ever saved up enough money, a motorcycle was her top choice for transportation.

"Both." Riley responded with a smirk of her own. This girl was pretty funny, if not definitely tryng to sleep with Riley. Which was... definitely new. I mean, usually you buy a gal some lunch first or-- oh wait, she think's I'm a dude. Right. Shit. Riley realized with a mental face palm. However, she seemed to understand that Riley really wasn't going for the sex, which Riley was glad for.

And they moved right along. Seemed that the girl was new herself, which made Riley smile in return and relax a little more. But her remark had Riley laughing again and grinning. "Thank god for your quick thinking then. Looks like you're gonna be the one taking the lead." Riley mused. Wait, was that an innuendo? No... No I don't think so. Right?"

The girl seemed to brighten at the idea of the bike ride, which made Riley smirk and nod. "Yeah. Come on." She stated, heading out and starting for the parking lot. Well, this was certainly different. Here she was, giving some random stranger a ride on her bike. An extremely flirty stranger. Oh god, what if she tries something while I'm on the bike? Riley realized. But it was too late now, and she was hungry to boot. So they ended up in the parking lot and Riley walked over to her bike. "Here she is!" Riley announced with a slightly proud smile.
