No Absolutes

    Selina wasn’t really surprised that he’d agreed to meet up with her. It wasn’t so much that she was arrogant, just practical. Her arm was feeling much better though, now that it’d been treated properly. She was still wearing her simple tank top and jeans that she’d had on earlier, as she rarely dressed up for such things. Besides, the clothes were likely coming off anyway, so she never really thought about it… unless she felt like it.


    She’d take things as slow as he wanted… which was why she’d told him to meet her in the courtyard near the fountain instead of in her room. Maybe she was too jaded about this type of thing, but for her, every relationship she entered into was casual, regardless of circumstances. She had yet to get serious about anyone and Selina wasn’t planning on changing that anytime soon. The only people in her life that got her devotion were her mother and her mother’s girlfriend, Maria.


    She smiled as she saw Rhett Hawthorn approaching, “Hey there, stranger. Long time no see,” she teased.

Rhett hadn't done much while he waited for her to get cleaned up. Mostly just his testosterone and teenage angst was building up. He knew where this was going and he didn't mind it. He'd had flings time and time before but not since he'd came to B.A. and definitely not with a mutant. He didn't really understand Selina and what she was all about. She seemed pretty up front and he preferred it that way. He didn't really like the pressure on him and she seemed like the type that wanted to be in control of these types of situations. If she was down he would let her take it where she wanted it to go. 

The boy entered the courtyard and spotted the girl. Making his way towards her he smirked and sat next to her. "Haha yeah. What's up? How was the nurse". Her arm looked fine and she seemed not to care about the pain. He just made small talk not really knowing where to take this. Something felt wrong to him but they on the other hand it felt pretty right.

    Selina shrugged, “He seemed alright,” she responded with a smile. “Though, I think you’re a bit young for him,” she joked as she studied Rhett. She would have to be gentle with her arm, but she could easily work around that. Besides, it wasn’t like this would be her first time having sex while injured. Perhaps she should stop for a second and think about the possible consequences of being so laid back… but then thinking just took way too much energy on a nice day like this. She could always come back to the topic later if she felt like it. In a couple days or a couple years, really what difference would it make?


    Selina smiled at him, “How’ve you been? Anything interesting happen since I’ve been away?” she asked somewhat facetiously. He had shown up, which was always a positive sign, but she wanted to be sure he was still ok with this. He seemed to be going with the flow pretty well and she certainly didn’t mind taking the lead, but Selina wasn’t one to take chances on consent either.
