Selina went out for a late night walk, enjoying the cool mountain air. She looked out over the vast expanse of the lake, admiring the silvery sheen the moonlight cast on the water as she made her way to a dock. Nights with a full moon like this made it difficult for her to sleep, and she could never tell why. All she knew was that she had a lot of expendable energy and that taking a dip in the water was sounding more and more appealing.
Selina sat down on the edge of the wooden pier and took off her shoes to let her toes dangle in the water. It was truly a gorgeous night, and not one cloud obscured the bright stars overhead. Moments like this were what she lived for. She rarely felt this serene in the city, and she could count on one hand how often she felt this happy. There wasn’t any particular reason for it, but that’s part of why she felt this way.
Selina stiffened as she heard something behind her and turned to glare at whoever had disturbed her precious moment of solitude. It wasn’t that she was feeling particularly confrontational, as much as the fact that if it was some stupid boy who’d thought to catch her unawares, he’d have something to regret deeply in the morning… if he lived that long. She wouldn’t actually kill him, but he didn’t have to know that. “Show yourself,” she demanded coldly.

The full moon had been so enticing to her, with a pull as strong as it would be for a wolf to howl. Carmelita knew she shouldn't change so soon. It was still well sighing her first two weeks of moving in. If the locals suddenly saw a large lioness roaming the woods at night, what would they say? Or what would they do was the bigger, more dangerous question. But the breeze from the open window was so cool on her skin, and the on beckoned her with a siren song.
Eventually she caved, as she almost always did. She locked the door behind her after saying good bye to her cats Tia and Esmeralda. They only me owed back, as if they knew the urge that soared through her on a night like this. Hiding the key underneath a rock, Carmelita shut her eyes and breathed in slowly. With her exhale, she felt her bones shift and groan as her form elf hanged and her muscle mass increased. She knew from experience that she had to wiggle out of her clothes before she was fully transformed, least she tear them to shreds again. Finally she stopped, and a large golden lioness had taken her place. The only things that ever managed to stay were her earrings, which were the simple studs this time. Everything ached, but Carmelita was too focused on how he whole around her came alive through her different senses. And oh, she felt so powerful.
With a single bound, she took off into the woods, glad she had insisted on a house slightly further from the campus and town, and gratefully near the forest. As she sped through the undergrowth and past trees, she marveled at the way her body felt; it's impressive muscles bunching with each step of her stride. She grumbled happily, speeding away and startlingly a number of woodland critters. Eventually she could hear and smell water nearby, and decided to go get a drink.
But as she neared, she caught another scent. It was that of a human, and not one she knew. Carmelita peeked out of a bush curiously to catch who it was that was possibly up this late. It turned out to be a girl with lovely dark hair sitting on the docks by herself. Now why would she come out so late and by herself? But then Carmelita stepped on a stick that unfortunately cracked under her foot. Before she could react, the girl had already turned. "Show yourself" she grumbled.
Carmelita debating on showing herself. It could get her into serious trouble if the locals found out. But then a deeper, more feral instinct wanted to, just to see what the girl's reactions like be to seeing a large lioness appear out of nowhere. The idea was so entertaining, that before Carmelita knew it her body already consented and moved her forward and into view in all her feline glory. If she had to bolt, she would. Besides, who would believe one girl saying there was a lioness in the woods of Montana? And maybe if she didn't freak out too badly, Carmelita would reveal herself.

Selina froze as she noticed that it wasn’t a boy who had interrupted her. Holy shit. She knew there were mountain lions in Montana, but she never thought she’d actually run into one. No, now that she got a better look at it, this was no mountain lion. This was an actual fucking lion. Selina remembered meeting a boy who could turn into a wolf and paused as she studied the creature in front of her. Well... trying couldn’t do any harm, right? “Are you from Bellefonte?” she asked in a soft tone that was more soothing than anything else. After all, she didn’t want to set the creature on edge if it was an actual lion.
It could have escaped from a zoo too, she supposed. Did they even have a zoo in Kalispell? She’d have to figure that out later, as there were currently more pressing matters that demanded her attention. Selina was very grateful that she happened to be by the lake, as her power was going to be so incredibly helpful if things got dire. She didn’t want to kill the magnificent beauty, but if she was attacked, she wouldn’t have much time to be merciful.
If this was some college kid pulling a prank, she would be more than a bit pissed off though. Especially if it was a guy. Then again, drawing on what she knew of lions, there was a chance the changeling was female… assuming the power matched up with the person’s decided gender. Selina cautiously watched the animal, patiently waiting for some signal as to whether or not she was talking to someone or something. The water underneath where she stood on the dock trembled from the effect of Selina’s untapped power. She was ready for almost anything.

Caremlita observed the girl's reaction carefully as she came out. At first she froze and seemed to be consumed with slight panic at the sight of a lioness. But then she spoke soothingly, as if testing out if Carmelita was a mutant instead. She even asked if Carmelita was from Bellefonte. That struck a cord to the human side of Carmelita, and she wondered. Was this girl from Bellefonte then if she knew about the school? Was she a student then? She seemed familiar with the idea of shifters, so that could be possible. So then, should Carmelita reveal herself? The girl spoke soothingly too, seeming a little unsure still of just what she was dealing with. She probably did so in case Carmelita had been a real lioness. Clever girl.
Carmelita had another little debat within herself, deciding whether or not she should transform back. Since she had turned into a lioness, she had no clothing now for her human form. If this girl was an actual student, that could end up being a bit of a problem. Although, Carmelita personally didn't care too much about being naked. She wasn't afraid to flaunt what she had, but just not in front of a student who would most likely get some class from her at the school. But with how Carmelita was feeling now, she didn't really care all too much. The lioness was too strong, so the human rules didn't seem too commanding at the moment. Before she knew it, she began to shift back into her human form.
When she finally changed back, Carmelita stretched a bit and cracked her neck and shoulders, rolling them. Shifting always made her sore, no matter which form she took. After she finished that, she crossed her arms and looked at the girl with a smirk. "Yes indeed I am. Well done, detective." She teased before tilting her head to the side slightly and raising an eyebrow. "I'm guessing you are too?"

Selina remained tense, prepared for anything, until she saw the creature in front of her start to change. She relaxed a bit as she realized that it was shifter she spoke to. The situation wasn’t exactly any less dangerous, especially of this shifter liked to have fun by hunting humans. Selina decided not to think too much about that though. Besides, the woman who appeared before her was fucking gorgeous, and Selina definitely had a weak spot for beautiful women.
Selina merely nodded at the woman’s question as she took in the lovely mutant before her. The next question was whether or not this woman was a teacher or a student. She looked pretty young to be a teacher, but then Selina had seen people really close to her age with the title, so she knew it was a definite possibility. “I’m Selina,” she offered by way of introduction. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms.?” she asked with a slightly suggestive grin.
Selina was a flirt by nature… or perhaps by design, she wasn’t sure. Either way, the lovely woman before her seemed to be about as modest and shy as Selina was when it came to nudity and Selina responded to it. She absently hoped that the shifter wasn’t a teacher, but then she supposed if she didn’t ask and something were to happen… Ignorance is bliss, right?
