Selina was relaxing and reading a mildly trashy book in the air conditioned lounge. It hadn't exactly been an uneventful summer for her, and she was enjoying every lazy unproductive second of her afternoon. She had so much going on lately, she almost felt lost amidst the currents constantly pulling at her. She didn't often like inactivity, so part of her was glad for everything, but she also needed a break every once in a while.
Selina paused as she heard someone entering the room and glanced up to find her dearest old roommate, Cade Carson. She smiled up at him, "I miss you making me breakfast, you know," she offered with a mischievous light in her eyes. He had been easier to get along with than she'd first thought, and she had found herself almost thinking wistfully about pancake batter.

Cade laughed when she spoke. He could see the mischief in her eyes and he smiled.
"Who knows, I might miss someone who actually stays long enough to eat them." He sat down beside her.
"So what's up? How's your summer been so far, old roomie of mine?"

"Are you saying you don't even miss me a little bit?" she asked with a playful pout. "How cruel," she added with a melodramatic sigh.
"Besides, its not exactly like they were the only things on the menu," she teased. "I was merely saving room."
"Busy," she then responded sincerely. "Which, is better than inactive to be honest, but still," she added as she leaned back against the couch, "It's nice to have a break," she admitted as she briefly closed her eyes.
"And you? How have things gone so far this lovely summer?" she asked with a wry grin.

"Saving room. Coulda fooled me. We were doing quite a few things in your room." Cade laughed. Then she leaned against the back of the couch and closed her eyes and he smiled. He could appreciate the fact she let herself relax around him.
"Things for me have been pretty laidback. Nothing much done, but that's perfectly fine with me."

"We were, weren't we?" she responded with a laugh. "You know, you're always welcome to come and do a few more things in my new room. Help break it in," she teased.
"Sounds like the perfect summer," she agreed as she studied him, "Though I'm sure I could find a few things for you to do," she added with a smirk. Ok, so maybe she couldn't resist. Selina's mind was almost always somewhere close to the gutter, and she didn't mind it in the slightest.
