Nico half-smiled as he looked at a group of other students attempting to sneak into the back of a line. The idea was to somehow get around the various workers manning it and slide into the exhibit, some sort of haunted house sort of thing. the idea might work in theory, especially considering that the main worker was currently distracted by a crying child who may or may not be lost (Nico really wasn't paying much attention there). There were about four of them, and Nico swore he recognized at least two.
None of his business, not really. But Nico couldn't help but be intrigued. he sort of absently sidled toward a bench he knew lay just a few feet to his left. one step after another, till he bumped it. Without really thinking, he phased through it, took another step, and sat.
It was as he became more solid that he felt someone else sitting practically on top of him. He looked over, and was only marginally surprised to see Lucy James sitting there. He let out a laugh and tilted his head. "Want to take bets on whether they make it or not?"
Hadn't it been for the simple fact that she'd been distracted by the annoying child that just wouldn't shut up, Lucy might not have gotten as startled when she found herself and an overly familiar face suddenly seated - a little too close - on the same bench. Pursing her lips, the brunette scooted over to offer the both of them more personal space, which they'd both likely appreciate. At least, she did.
She furrowed her brows slightly at his laugh; it appeared almost alien. As if it was something that wasn't meant to happen. That it was one of those one in a million kind of things. It didn't matter though. She returned her gaze back towards the line and the crying child.
"Well," she began, licking her bottom lip as she folded her arms across her chest. "If they keep looking over their shoulders like that, they're bent to waste too much time and that kid is eventually going to stop crying." She'd be rather surprised and impressed if they actually made it though. She didn't have a whole lot of faith in them, which hardly should have come as a surprise to well, anyone.

Nico nodded. "They gotta move," he agreed. Following his own advice, he made certain to scoot a little to the side, wanting to give Lucy at least a bit more room. He didn't exactly fancy sitting on top of her either, especially as he could see his power kicking in and pushing him right through her. They'd been lucky that it hadn't happened when he sidled in.
After the adjusting, Nico looked and watched the kids some more. A couple had hopped the line and were now gesturing toward the others to come along with them. That didn't take long, but they kept looking around to see if anyone noticed them. Yet somehow they didn't seem to notice that both Nico and Lucy were still watching.
"Should walk like they belong back there," Nico said. he leaned back, watching, smiling as the nervous kids started moving forward with about as much stealth as the crying kid.

Pulling her gaze away, the brunette pulled her legs up against her chest and leaned her chin on top of her knees. Her blue eyes dully scanned the surrounding area, but she didn't find anything particularly interesting to look at - save for the kids trying to sneak their way in anyways and even that was on borrowed time.
Nico spoke again and Lucy looked at him from the corner of her eye, nodding thoughtfully at his words. "Yeah," she said, poking the tip of her tongue against her cheek. "Ah well," she added, her shoulders slumping lightly. "If they get caught it'll just mean we'll get an even better show." She was almost tempted to tell on the teenagers, but she decided against it.
It was none of her business and she had a feeling she was better off keeping it that way, although her natural havoc wracking self felt the need to make everyone's life a living hell.

The idiots were not doing a good job. If anything, they seemed to be falling apart, giving way at the seams and all that good bit. Nico kept watching, listening as Lucy talked about getting a better show. He let out a slight laugh at that, then watched as, sure enough, one of the caretakers of the attraction showed and began escorting the protesting teenagers away. Nico watched with wry amusement, seeing the protest and feeling more than a little superior.
"You ever do anything like that?" he asked, looking over at Lucy and raising his brows for a moment. Generally speaking, Nico avoided circumstances like this. He'd been trying his damnedest to do precisely that when he'd met Lucy for the first time. Yet at the same time, this was the same young man who'd managed to get caught up in more than a few similar capers, and this looked decidedly more lowkey than some of them.
Didn't mean that Nico was actually thinking of going through with it, but... "Should wait for a kid or something," Nico said, nodding, "then sort of stroll in. Nobody looks at you if you're not making noise," which was something he'd learned a long, long time ago. Though he couldn't say why he was bothering to say it all now: not like Lucy had really expressed interest. Then again, much like Nico, she hadn't expressed much interest in anything, really.

Meeting his gaze for a moment, Lucy simply shrugged before answering. "Yeah," she said, as if it was obvious. "That, among other things." Now, she might not have gotten caught, and her record might have been mostly clean, but that didn't at all mean she didn't do her fair share of illegal things. Though, that had been much easier to go through with when she had been nothing more than some random teenager in a random city where no one knew her.
She suspected it would be much harder here - which she'd already experienced several times. "You?" she asked. Somehow she wouldn't be surprised if the answer was yes. He didn't strike her as the kind of guy who managed to keep his hand clean for very long - whether it was his own doing or not.
Laughing, Lucy grinned at him, eyebrows arching in amusement. "Sounds more like you want to try it yourself," she pointed out before looking back over at where the other kids had gotten caught. "Now that you mention it... It would be fun." She looked up at the sky and sighed. "More fun than just sitting here, doing nothing."

Did not surprise Nico to have his suspicions about Lucy's criminal past, such as it was, confirmed. Neither of them were really the type who kept their noses clean for overlong, and surely by now both of them had to realize it. Given Lucy's question, she clearly was thinking along very similar lines, similar enough that Nico found himself nodding. "Few times."
And then there was the laugh and the grin and the arched brows. At her comment, Nico just shrugged. Yes, yes he did sort of want to try it himself, was already moving. However, he knew better than to do that without an accomplice. Something like this worked much better with a small crew. That and if Nico actually did get caught, he needed someone to take some of the heat off him.
"Exactly," Nico said. he gave another nod, then jerked his head, indicating they should go and actually try. The second he saw Lucy moving, he'd fall in right with her, actually just a step behind, his mind already racing through their best potential strategies.
