James William Dale
FACE CLAIM: David Mazouz.
---------------------------------
AGE: 14 (Looks younger)
GENDER: Male.
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: Student.
POWER: Superhuman Intelligence
Basically far above the level of genius when it comes to intelligence. This ability is compromised of two combined abilities of Encyclopedic Knowledge and Intuitive Aptitude, he can learn things inhumanely quickly, usually to an expert level or beyond in any academic and intellectual field he would come across at the time.
LIMITATIONS:
His brilliant intellect does not come without it's consequences, as a result he is emotionally stunted, his moral judgment has taken a nosedive and he has become tactless, usually needing to be directed on the right path as he sees no difference between right or wrong, just facts, he can't still feel but can neither express it or detect it on others. He experiences frequent migraines when he loses memory to make room for new information, unfortunately losing the memory of those he had once cared about. His mind immediately discards irrelevant information so if he were to be focusing on one subject he would be unaware of his surroundings. Naturally he could possibly forget things he already learned and would need to learn them again.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Loss of memory and self, he may lose his a large chunk of his memory if his ability is overdone, a migraine indicates the early stages of his potential memory loss, names of people he would meet on a daily basis would be forgotten or he may forget new friends entirely, feeling often solitary and confused if not informed. If another were to potentially mimic his ability the would gain his intellect however at the cost of losing a portion of their memory. If his abilities were to be suppressed ,his lost memory would not be recovered however he wouldn't forget as much as he used to.
HEIGHT: 4,7 ft
HAIR COLOR: Dark Brown
EYE COLOR: Brown
MISC: He is usually always wearing glasses, a cardigan or sweater, normal slacks and trousers. he is extremely pale though his skin is free from blemishes. He is short for his age, others may mistake him for an 11-year old, he is not physically adept ,having a small thin fragile frame.
PERSONALITY: James is a bright boy however he is unable to connect well with others, he does have emotions however they are deeply seeded and buried beneath his logical and callous exterior. He becomes frustrated with people often, irritated by them, more that he can't understand human nature as much as he would like to. He would make weak and unsuccessful attempts at communicating with others however once he has sparked a connection his mind discards the memories associated with them, the other being could naturally take offense to this and no longer associate with him even though he had no intention of forgetting them. For a genius he is rather immature to others who don't understand him, frustrating him to the point he tends to seclude himself from the world.
James is tolerant at first of others, he will not stray from conversation how ever he will not go and find it, most conversations find him. He prefers to not become to close with others in fear of hurting them from his frequent amnesia or his tactless and almost cold approach to situations. He is in fact deeply caring, if he cared for another it would be through subtleties, not through open gestures as he prefers to remain out of the limelight, a terrible habit of getting into it due to his large brain. He prefers the company of animals as they do no question him nor speak to him, there he finds solace in his interests he had before his mutation.
SECRET(S): James keeps a diary of all the important things he wishes to remember, it's extremely personal to him as it's his only connection to his past.
FATHER: Michael Dale
MOTHER: Sarah Dale
SIBLINGS:None
WORTHY MENTIONS: Mocha (Cat)
CHILDHOOD: James was a normal child he grew up like any other human child would, he performed on an average scale in his normal human school, never exceeding the expectations of those around him. He had many friends, was highly social and a rather happy child, his parents loved him and provided all they could for him. He wanted to be a game ranger when he was older, he loved animals, his favorite outings would be going to the zoo.
He was normal, nothing more nothing less, a quality that his family loved about him, there was nothing wrong with him, no mental disorders, no physical oddities, his parents were often overprotective from, he took a liking to the strange, believing anything from created naturally couldn't be evil, his parents cherished his innocence and would often cut off interaction between him and other people they suspected were odd. Jame's Grandmother was one of the 'odd ones' his parents refereed to, hence why she was casted from the family and never heard from, James never knew his grandmother. Everything was peaceful, joyous normal in his small world before a drastic change occurred.
ADOLESCENCE: At the age of 14 James experienced his first jolt of increased intelligence. He was in class at school, dozing off to the teacher's lesson before his vision became blurry he rubbed his eyes in irritation as he used the board as a focal point. He stared at the intricate math equation for his grade and squinted, it made sense, all that was written on the board made sense to him, even to the extent where he saw mistakes the teacher had made, he shook his head and looked at his textbook, reading through it at a lighting speed, noticing more and more errors as his understanding grew. He stood from his seat, his chair making a screeching noise on the tile floor as everyone turned to watch him whilst he slowly made his way to the board, his teacher stopping mid-lesson ,shocked at his disobedience as she dictated for him to sit down, he ignored her and continued to the board, picking up the chalk he began to make corrections, write the equation further in detail beyond his grade, he even began to describe his thinking process, the teacher taking a seat, remaining speechless as she listened to his lesson, halfway his head ached as he continued, he clutched his skull, his nose began to bleed, dropping the chalk and cried before fainting. The class looked at him all wide-eyed at the possible genius who showed his true colors.
He stayed at his home since then his migraines got worse, so did his memory, he forgot his parents names, he even forgot his own at one point as his intellect continued to grow in the short time he spent at home. His parents would walk into his bedroom hoping to find it the same, the animal posters lining the walls ,his video games and consoles lying about the floor, However this time the walls were scrawled with hundreds of equations, symbols, his consoles were dismantled and reassembled, his computer looked as though had been running several lines of code that even a professional programmer would have marveled at and at the end of this room sat James, unite rested as to the world around him as he worked intently on some subject he had taken an interest in. It was after these two weeks that he found he was packing his bags, sitting in a black vehicle and looking at his parents stand on the porch, the both looked straight faced as the boy, who once was their son, was sitting in the car, the James now had taken their James away from them and they were almost happy to see him go, this James seemed to not care nor reciprocate for their emotions as he became more of an emotionless being, he forgot them and for them to cope they wished to keep the memory of their son the way he used to be and forget who he is now as the mutation had altered his personality entirely. James was on his way to Bellefonte Academy, a school he was told where he wouldn't have to worry about being different anymore, of course he felt no remorse for leaving either, feeling those emotions seemed alien to him but like everything other thing he encountered, it could be learned with time.
It has been a month at the academy and James still remains by himself in his dorm, venturing out on now and then, avoiding contact with others as he began to slowly learn of his own abilities and it's drawbacks. He still has yet to learn of his future endeavors at his new school.
SAMPLE: James found himself at the zoo again, this time his parents weren't around, it was simple enough to move away from them, easily distracted by their new lives, he often took opportunities to escape his mother's constant seeking of curing him, trying traditional methods or talking to quacks once science had failed her. He would dismiss their practices as superstition, stating all the facts to them of it's futility, even performing their practices to the letter. It was peaceful at the zoo during the week, no one bothered him, no one questioned him he leaned against the bars and stared at the lion enclosure, the lion looked lazily at him as he stared at it, he knew he couldn't switch off his brain anymore so this was his way of simulating a blank state almost.
He stared at the enclosure, and smiled at the lion, the smile seemingly forced as he sometimes would forget how, "Hello Lion." He would simply say, his voice monotonous and quiet "You won't get mad at me right?" the lion yawned and lay on it's back in response, entirely uninterested. "i thought so" He sighed and folded his arms to rest further on the bars, sliding down so he sat on the floor, his back facing the cage, he closed his eyes and it was all black for a time, he was woken up by a zookeeper nudging his shoulder
"Hey, hey kid, where are your parents? It's closing time buddy." he said in a gruff voice.
James looked about and rubbed his eyes, "I don't...know." he yawned rubbed his arm catch "Where am I?"
The zookeeper sighed rubbing his own eyes from a days work and nodded, "C'mon, let's get you to the police station, they'll get you sorted"
