Now, Tony had only been around campus for a short amount of time and she already liked the school. Which was saying a lot, considering how it was in fact a school. She wasn't particularly studious. Not because she was stupid. Not because she was lazy. Simply because she had so much else she'd rather do. Good thing it was then, that it was summer vacation.
And she couldn't say she minded the nice Montana weather either. Then again, who would? It wasn't too hot, nor was it too chilly. It was a perfect mix for the Australian - and better yet, it had a beautiful scenery.
For someone who enjoyed spending most of their time outside, it was perfect.
Walking through the courtyard, Tony spotted one of the boys - looking rather lonesome, though, purposely so. Which ironically, only spurred her to seek him out more. No one was as interesting as those people who preferred their own company.
Taking a seat down on the grass not too far away from the boy, Tony rested her chin against her knees, blue eyes peering up at the dark haired boy. "Yo," the Australian started. "What's up?"

Nico needed a hobby. The thought drifted into his mind as he sort of stared out into the courtyard, where students enjoyed the relatively mild Montana summer. Having spent time in Canada, Nico could appreciate the temperatures and location of Montana as much as anyone. Hispanic he may be, but most of that had been beaten out of him by environment for some time now. Now he just sat there and felt quite comfortable.
If slightly bored. Yet Nico didn't really see sitting and doing nothing as that much of a bad thing. People always wanted to get up and do things, to make noise, to dance, to run around. Nico liked just sitting and being, just letting things happen around him. Plus, there was something in people watching when the people in question all had mutant powers and little reservation about using them.
It also seemed as though most mutants scored at least an "eight" on the attractiveness scale. That probably had something to do with genetics or something along those lines; Nico didn't really know. He did know that he could therefore watch some fairly attractive people throwing fire, and who needed TV when you had that?
One in particular headed Nico's direction. If most were eights, this one had to be a ten, if not even higher. Nico let her eyes flick to her for a bit, long enough to confirm her, well, "herness" and then looked away, figuring that she was heading toward and possibly talking to, someone else. The question, directed at him, caused Nico to look up in mild surprise. "Sky," he said without thinking, without looking up either. He proceeded to give her a sardonic "what the hell you think I was gonna say" look, which might as well be labeled "Nico expression #5" (of 7).
Tony's eyebrow quirked in light amusement at the response she was offered. Her hands raised in an "seems like we have a badass present"-way, and she issued a light chuckle. She had to admit that his response was refreshing. Not a whole lot of the people she'd met thus far had been quite this... dismissive. She nodded then, rather contemplating as her blue eyes moved across the boy's face, amusement only rising at the expression her was giving her.
"Aren't you quite the sunshine," she commented, licking her bottom lip. No, his response had done nothing to deter her, though, if anything, it only spurred her on. She was genuinely interested now, which likely, would end badly if the boy continued whatever charade he was attempting at.
If it at all was a charade. It didn't matter though. If the boy proved to be dull, she supposed she could always walk away. There was nothing stopping her from doing just that, and the boy hardly seemed like the type to do anything.

the badass gesture: because Nico hadn't seen that before. Lots of people took his brusque and taciturn nature as some attempt at being tough, a facade or whatever. Didn't even matter if Nico told them otherwise or even acted contrary to the idea: he clearly was some mental case from the slums acting all macho for no good reason.
His frustration didn't stop him from noticing the woman licking at her lip though. Yeah, that definitely got his attention, more so than the words that had proceeded it: he'd heard that before. He looked back up at her, arching a brow, silently asking what it was she wanted from this whole thing, exactly.
Nico did let his gaze wander over her for a moment (she'd practically demanded to be looked at), noticing bits and details about how she stood and what she had on her. There was something there that seemed familiar to him, but, hell, you could say that about most of the people he met here.
An amused smile formed on Tony's lips when the guy didn't respond. Instead, his brown eyes wandered over her and she couldn't help but to grow slightly amused by it. Her eyebrow quirked then as she watched him, waiting a bit more to see if he'd actually say something, but when he didn't, Tony's head shook.
"Silent, ain't ya?" she asked, nodding. "Ah well, nothing wrong with that, I 'spose." She could appreciate the silent folks too, although a little conversation wouldn't hurt. She wasn't going to push much for luck. If the guy didn't want to talk, she didn't at all mind standing there, having some kind of staring competition.
"You know," she began, hands crossing over her chest. "Considering how you're practically undressing me with your eyes already, why don't you do us both a favor and lead the way to somewhere nice where it's possible to go for a swim?" she asked. After all, she had to learn the surroundings. She supposed this was a good way to begin.

Another shrug as the girl pointed out his silence. Nico really didn't understand why everyone always thought that was such a revelation. He knew he was silent, everyone who met him figured out that he didn't like talking within a few minutes of knowing him, so why go through the effort of pointing it out in such a clever manner? At least the girl didn't try to go and pry more words out of him. She did, however, make note of his wandering eye.
Nico offered another little shrug, very much a "what can you do?" gesture. It wasn't like he'd been leering, or at least not overmuch. Nobody said anything about looking. However, his brows were soon going up as the girl all but offered to strip down. Did Nico know places that they could go and get wet?
And yes, that was pretty much how Nico heard it.
"Pool or lake," Nico offered, pointing one direction for one and another for the other. "Lake's probably less populated," and he gave her a look that added the : if that actually matters to you.
