Smile? Pretty Please?

Without a doubt, it had been a rough and busy day. Most of Caelum's finals were over with for this year, but he still had one or two dreaded ones coming up. This toxic thought is what drove the man from his dorm room that day and to the warm, welcoming arms of the Bellefonte courtyard. A place he frequented fairly often and had started many a summer time water balloon fight. When he was in high school anyway. Now, he was far to mature for such things, water guns were far more effective. Today however, he was just looking to relax. Or at least attempt to. 

It seemed so many other people were rushing about and making plans for summer that they didn't notice the others. The ones who didn't have family to go back to, or for some reason or another couldn't. Caelum did notice, it was bred into his very D.N.A to notice people who needed a little moral boost. With that thought in mind, he stretched his wings wide and stood. His little spot in the grass had been comfortable for awhile, but there were people that needed cheering up, and who better to do it than the great prankster. 

Scanning the small crowd, he let his blue eyes focus on someone and then started making his way over. In that first initial scan, Caelum had no idea if said person was a boy or a girl, but as he came closer, he noticed right away it was a lady. Clearing his throat, he plastered on his trademark grin and bowed like an idiot as he came up to her. "Good 'morrow my lady." He began in the silliest way possible. "I noticed you were alone and decided to come over and say hello." Straightening up, he chuckled softly, hoping she would realize he wasn't some random creep, but ...just in case. "And I'm not like, hitting on you or anything. Just legit wanted to say hey."

    Selina had come out to the courtyard as she’d needed some time away from her dorm to think. Selina was debating whether or not to stay at Bellefonte for the summer and being outside always seemed to help her relax. Though the day was warm, it wasn’t yet the degree of hot that made her prefer staying inside, so Selina lounged against her favorite tree and enjoyed the cool the shade had to offer. She was busy reading about summer courses she could take when she noticed someone approaching. Someone with wings.


    Selina laughed at his bow and formal greeting, “Such a gallant gentleman you are,” she responded with a smile as she closed the booklet she’d been reading. “And what excellent manners… I would say they were positively angelic, but I fear you’ve heard that far too often,” she teased as she leaned back against the tree to better see him. Selina smiled as he explained himself, “It’s alright… though I must say, I probably wouldn’t have minded too much had hitting on me been your actual objective,” she replied playfully.


    He seemed sweet and mostly genuine. Selina studied him with interest, “Are you celebrating the end of exams or dreading the upcoming summer?” she asked with a wry grin. Selina wasn’t honestly sure how she felt about staying here in Montana, but part of her also wasn’t sure about she’d feel about moving down to Las Vegas for a few months before needing to return here. Her mom was debating whether or not she and Maria would move up to Kalispell anyway, so Selina had decided to stay… for now.


    She could always change her mind in the next few days. Ugh, Selina hated making large decisions. But the fact that her room and board were paid for if she stayed was no small factor in her decision. Money didn’t come easy, and if she could help her mom and Maria out financially by staying in town, she would.
