"HEY SELINA! SELINA! SELINA! SELINA! YOU IN HERE?" He'd gone to the pool for a quick swim that morning. He still needed plenty of exercise, and sparring only did so many different things for his muscles. Swimming covered the bases he missed. He'd dried himself off with a towel and then slipped on a cozy grey sweater. And he'd walked back to the dorms and to the room. Which led him to call randomly out for Selina.
"I'm making breakfast. If you're up and you want some, come here. If you're awake and want some, you have to get up. I'm not going to bring it to you, lazy bones. I also plan on making some nice tea."

Selina groaned as her loud roommate made his presence known. She punched her pillow wondering what it was she'd done to deserve this, but sighed and got up. Once he decided to wake up the dorm, there was no real stopping him. Selina almost smiled at the idea of him making breakfast for her. Sometimes the fact that he was sweet almost overrode her irritation at his waking her up.
The mention of tea had her up and throwing on a long t-shirt that fell to just above her knees. She slept in the nude, but putting a bra and underwear on for breakfast seemed excessive... alright fine. Selina slippe don some underwear as well so she wouldn't freak anybody out and made her way out of her room to see Cade in a lovely grey sweater. "Do you have to be so loud in the morning?" she complained while rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"I'm awake. That's good enough. And the chances of Alex still being awake are slim I think." That girl was like a hyperactive bunny too shy to say anything. Even if she was still sleeping, he didn't think Alex would say anything. Selina, on the other hand, would totally have given him hell if he wasn't making breakfast. It also helped he was a decent cook. He took in the sight of her in a long t-shirt and his cheeks reddened a bit, trying to ignore the attire. Room-mate. Room-mate. That wasn't really helping. He sighed before cracking the eggs into the frying pan. He mixed up the batter as well, putting it in the waffle iron.
"Waffles and eggs. I've been awake for a while. I was feeling good after going for a swim, so I thought I'd be nice. Ironic that a swim made me make breakfast for a water manipulator. Just thank coincidence!" And the fact he needed something to take his mind off...other things lately. His face clouded slightly thinking of Devyn. He needed to stop thinking of Devyn.

Selina merely shrugged in response and sat down with a wide yawn. She'd frankly be surprised if he hadn't woken up half the dorm with his yelling. Then again, she was just grumpy because she'd had way too much to drink last night and being woken up with loud noises wasn't helping her hangover in the slightest. Damn those eggs smelled good. Selina's eyes opened a crack to study the boy and decided that so long as he remained useful, she would make a slight effort to be more amiable.
After all, how many people had a roommate who would serve them eggs and waffles? She certainly never had before this. Selina rolled her eyes at his connection to swimming and her power, but she smiled nonetheless, "I might even end up liking you if you keep this up," she teased with lidded eyes still heavy from sleep. Yup, hot breakfast. The way to a girl's heart was through her stomach. Selina fought back another yawn as she arched her back in a long stretch. So maybe it was ok to wake up this way every once in a while.

He chuckled when she said she might end up even liking him. Food definitely helped room-mate relations.
"Would it be pushing it if I asked if you could put some pants on?" He was averting his eyes more for his sake than hers. Hey, he may like Devyn but he was still a guy and he still had a healthy imagination...among other things. The eggs finished and he piled them on plates, two each. And then he took out the waffles currently cooking and put the two on her plate and put more batter in the waffle iron. Then she put her plate on the table.
"There you are." And then he put the teapot on the table too.
"Some English Breakfast. Supposed to help wake you up. Figured it was a good tea to have for breakfast, considering it's in the name." He laughed.

Selina laughed at his question, “What I wear or don’t wear isn’t for your sake. However, if your imagination is running wild…” she offered with a wink, “Do something about it,” she teased. “Besides, you ever seen a girl in a bikini, Cade?” she asked with a devilish smirk. She may have liked him a bit better, but she wasn’t changing who she was for his sake either. “This is much more modest, and at least I’m wearing underwear,” she added with a shrug. It had been a close call though, if she was honest.
The breakfast was gorgeous though, and her mouth was watering just looking at it. And tea. Damn. She was so lucky. “Thank you, Cade,” she said sincerely before taking a bite. “This is amazing,” she complimented him as she swallowed and took a sip of tea. Yeah, she could so get used to this.
"Nothing I can do about it currently." His eyes felt like they were magnetized to look. Okay, so he did look her over. He was curious! And Cade's cheeks reddened as he took in the sight. She mentioned the bikini and he sighed.
"Yeah I've seen a girl in a bikini. And yeah what you're wearing is more modest. Doesn't mean it isn't hot. I just thought I'd ask. I was hopeful was all." Keep looking at her face...
Then she ate the food and thanked him and he shrugged.
"Not a big deal. My parents may have been rich, but that doesn't mean I was a spoiled rich kid. Well, I was. But the cook thought she'd teach me when I showed an interest in what she was doing. And voila, where I am now." He smirked with a small chuckle.

Selina cast him a playful smirk, "You're positive about that, are you? Have you tried?" she asked with a suggestive grin. Oh, he was so obvious. And so cute. Selina slid her shirt up her leg and exposed most of her thigh, "Look all you like. I'm certainly not shy," she teased.
Selina laughed and nodded to him. "It's alright. But I don't often change my ways for people. It's not in my nature," she explained with a wink.
"I need to meet your cook and thank her," Selina replied as she continued to eat. "She must have been impressive." Selina's mom had learned how to cook with her daughter by her side. Katerina had always been learning and trying. Selina had always helped and they'd both bonded over working together in the kitchen over time. Selina had fond memories of even the failed dishes they'd made.
Okay, now he was tomato red and trying to avert his eyes but they were magnetized to the thigh and he looked away and tried to look at her face and...he sighed and closed his eyes.
"This is probably the only way, so just pretend I'm blind for now." He chuckled. Then she brought up meeting the cook and he shook his head with a smile.
"That would be difficult. She was a really sweet older lady. She's since passed away. It was sad for my whole family. I think I felt the grief most of all though. She acted kind of like a kind grandmother would."

Selina laughed and shook her head, "Oh Cade. One of these days..." she teased.
Selina nodded her understanding as he spoke of his grief before remembering that he'd closed his eyes. She grinned as an idea popped into her head, "I'm terribly sorry to hear that," she offered in a sympathetic tone as she quietly got out of her chair, not making a sound. "You two were... close?" she asked as she approached him and leaned in close after standing on her tip-toes, so she could whisper in his ear, "I'm almost envious."
Ok, so maybe she was pushing it, but his flustered reactions were so entertaining. Besides, there were so many other senses that she could take advantage of... this would be interesting.
She was teasing him. Okay, he was just going to accept that, move on. Take deep breaths. After all, the fact his heart was speeding up meant he might be getting over Devyn and that would definitely be a good thing. She was happy after all, and he wasn't going to mess with that. He heard her sympathetic words. And then the next words were surprisingly whispered into his ear. After the initial eye widening reaction, he smirked. His emotions battled within him, but in the end he kept his eyes closed. He used his other senses to work out exactly where she was. Cade opened his eyes slowly and smiled gently. Then he reached out and twirled a lock of her hair around his index finger softly and gently.
"Envious are you?" His voice was lowered to a whisper also, a certain catch or rasp in it.

How far would he go with this? Was this really the same Cade who’d not moments ago blushed at seeing her thigh? Was this a front or something else entirely? Selina was suddenly incredibly determined to find out. She had expected him to be flustered again or to blush or something… else. Damn, he could do this when he tried, couldn’t he? The tables had suddenly turned, and she was reacting to him in a way she hadn’t ever expected. That she’d never predicted this type of reaction from him, made this all the more enticing.
The low jerk in her gut was intense and she felt a thrill in her veins as she took in the man before her. Selina could feel the heat under her skin as she looked up into his grey eyes, “Overcome with jealousy,” she murmured, her voice low and thicker than normal.

Cade honestly didn't know where this other version of himself had come from. But it was a fun feeling. He put a hand behind him to lean on the surface behind him briefly. And then his hand hit the bowl lightly. Just enough to remind him it was there.
Suddenly, he was smiling and touching the tip of Selina's nose with some batter on his index finger and speaking at the same time, still not losing the slight rasp in his voice.
"So you're jealous of a granny. Are you proud of that?" He arched an eyebrow, his grey eyes meeting with her dark ones. He was actually having fun, he had to admit. And it looked like even though she'd started teasing him, she wasn't completely immune herself. At least, that's what he thought. Interesting that despite all the tips Devyn had given him, he wasn't using even one of them. Somehow he was still doing this...was he flirting? Cade thought he might be.

Selina couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up as she rubbed the batter off of her nose, “I think you and I both know that I don’t give a damn about your granny,” she responded with a smirk as she slowly licked the batter off of her finger. It didn’t really taste all that great, but the taste of it wasn’t the point. “But at the same time, if she was that close to you…” she teased, “You might need to report her to child services,” she added with another laugh.
So this roommate thing was more fun than she’d thought it’d be. And really, she’d been a bit harsh on him before. Selina smiled as she looked him up and down. Yup, she was totally ok with him being in the next room… and if he ended up staying the night in hers every once in a while, she’d be ok with that too.
"Oh so cruel you don't care about my dear old cook." Cade gave a lopsided smile. This was no longer about his elderly cook. He knew that full well. He watched as she took the batter off and licked it off her finger. She made a joke about being close with her and he laughed.
"Even if that was true, she's passed so it would do little good." She was fun to talk to. But he had to admit, he wasn't done trying to mess with her head. He took his hand and dusted just his fingertips along her arm up to her shoulder, barely touching her. Mischief danced in his eyes while he did too. He also realized her hair was actually nice and soft too.
