Karsen was doing what he normally did, walking towards Tim’s dorm with a bag full of chinese food. Mostly because he felt bad about being busy, with building his super computer, working on the watches and then spending as much time as possible with Amanda...he had forgotten about Tim Tawfeek a bit. At least since the last time that they had talked, he had even perfected the watches. No matter how many buttons you pushed it worked fine and it was thinner. That and the food should more than make up for everything in his life being all bleh.
Maybe he was really excited to tell Tim that he had finally found someone he was interested in. Yeah that was definitely it, so much so that he knocked and immediately entered the door when finally got to his destination. “I brought food and drinks” He said as he shut the door and collapse in the nearest empty seat. He had a stupid smile on his face as he set the bags of food and drinks on the desk.
“I also have chopsticks.” He said spinning around to face Tim and whatever the boy was doing before he barged into the room.

The whole dorm thing definitely had its ups and downs, particularly if you happened to dorm with your girlfriend and apparently a few of her closest male friends. Tim still wasn't entirely sure how that had happened, but he did know that they had to have one of cleanest dorms that actually had male teenagers living in it on campus. Even now he was busy cleaning up around the place, trying to figure out what would stick out to Lux.
The knock on the door didn't even cause Tim to turn. he just called a "'sopen," to whomever happened to be on the other side. his attention did swivel as he smelled the delicious familiarity of Chinese food. Tim turned to grin, and the expression widened as he saw who held it.
"Karsen!" he said, throwing his arms wide. "Awesome to see you man!" He moved forward, ready to grab the food so they could do the totally necessary fist-bump. "And yay, chopsticks. I was looking for something to jab into the eyes of my enemies," Tim paused to adjust his glasses but took the food anyway, helping Karsen set things out. "Did you text? I've been wrapped up cleaning and crap, so I hadn't noticed. I am so ready for summer, man, you don't even know."

Once they got the fist bump out the way and foodstuff sorted he shook his head “Nope, I was at the auto shop in town and then decided to come over baring gifts, once I realized I was finally free to hang out.” He might have also heard that Tim wasn’t busy but that was of no consequences to the actual situation. Huh cleaning and ready for summer? He wasn’t sure those two things went together at least not in his mind.
“Yeah, I’ve been busy with things.” He said getting that goofy grin on his face he had when he left Amanda's room. Although being reminded that he was busy brought his mind to other things and he felt bad. No he would not think of what or rather who had kept him busy. No he would give his best friend his full attention.
“I though spring cleaning was for Spring, why are you cleaning your room it’s not even that dirty?” He said completely unaware that maybe Tim’s girlfriend came over to his room. That would've been the logical choice but seeing as Karsen never really invited anybody besides Tim to his room and Erin that one time it was weird. What have you been up too” He asked as he grabbed the closet container of food and a pair of chopsticks.

the auto shop? Tim was definitely curious about that, but he elected to put in a pin in it. Of far more import was getting to the food and getting that food inside their bellies. "Hey man, I ain't gonna complain about you hanging out," Tim managed. He gestured at the nearly spotless dorm common area, which made more sense than attempting to hole up inside Tim's room proper.
As Tim directed them there though, he couldn't help but notice a strange look on Karsen's face. It had him pausing to look at his bud for a moment. It almost looked like "busy" meant "busy with a girl." Huh, you'd think that would have come up. oh well, there was Chinese food to be eating.
"I dorm with my girlfriend," Tim replied, wincing slightly. "Which is only a half-step from being forced to move in, except minus all the parts that matter. Ah, sweet, this stuff's the best," he was already picking through containers, having pulled plastic silverware out from somewhere. "Been up to finals mostly. And planning some kind of anti-prom. And putting together footage for mutant vids. And the gaming clan. And the girlfriend," Tim took a large bite of food, talking around it: "So you know: usual stuff."

Karsen nodded, he was glad that Tim wasn’t expecting any company because he had only brought enough food for two. Not that he had anything against Lux or anything, he just didn’t want to be a third wheel. It was weird enough, when Tim talked about his other friends. Especially since Karsen had never really gotten out much until this year. Come to think of it he was doing much better in public places even if he was taking anxiety meds. That didn’t count, so he was going to count it as progress.
“Ah that makes sense, which probably means I should clean my room if I want company...never really thought of that.” Not really believing that he never thought of that. Then again the thought of actually inviting amanda to his room seemed strange. Like the good kind of strange not the bad kind. Was there a good kind of strange...probably anyways he focused back on what Tim was saying.
“yeah, i still have a history paper due, I actually have an update for the headsets to make the visuals better and also the syncing. Also I scored a date for prom.” He said becoming busy with his container of food and his chopsticks. He wasn’t even aware that his cheeks could feel weird after talking about a date.

Tim shrugged. "Well it's not that I'm that obsessed. and it's Lux, so she'd probably just giggle or ignore it or something along those lines," Tim had to chuckle a little at the memory of the one time that Lux had actually found a pair of his dirty underwear. The conversation had been awkward, but honestly not that much more awkward than conversations between the two of them had a tendency to get.
Tim kept eating and nodding as Karsen complained with him. The history paper definitely sounded like a drag: Tim had to wince at that. He nearly let out a whoot at the mention of the headset being much better. "Hey, it's cool that you've almost got those out! We're dying to get them to--" Tim paused, fork halfway between food and mouth, his sentence halfway complete, and halfway between a thought.
"Wait a sec," He held up a hand then rolled it. "Rewind." He held the palm out. "Did you say date?" Tim looked at Karsen, his expression serious. "Dude, we talked about the robot thing, remember?"

Karsen shrugged it made sense, especially since anybody would probably rip over spare wires and metal parts. It wasn’t his fault he had little space in his room. Actually he had more space now that he moved his bed sides ways and against the wall. “No I get it, besides i’d be embarrassed if my room was dirty and they found something incriminating” Not that it would show up him and his complexion.
”They’re already finished dude, I just need to close the screw, you'll have them tomorrow the latest” Because there was a chance he’d see what amanda was doing or probably start a new project if he didn’t end up playing video games with Tim. It was always a toss up on how he would waste his time when a project was done.
“Yeah I said date and no it’s not a robot, gesh It’s an actual girl...i asked her any everything” He sighed and shook his head. Maybe there was an eye roll in there somewhere but come on he had better taste than a robot. he didn’t want to be that guy.

Embarrassed? At this point, Tim was pretty much just used to that being part of his relationship with Lux. Seemed as though they existed in this strange mix of entire comfort and unease that somehow managed to work for the both of them. The incriminating part though... yeah. Tim also didn't want to go too far in depth with that: he and Lux still hadn't gotten to the whole "being intimate" part of the relationship.
He would have been a lot more excited, and distracted, by the thought of actually using the headsets he'd rigged up with Karsen. except there was the whole slight worry that his friend had gone all mad scientist on him (again). "So, you didn't, like," Tim narrowed his eyes, "threaten her family or hypnotize her or anything, right? You seriously just walked up to a girl and asked her to prom? Because if that's so, I should be the one buying you chinese food."
Though that didn't stop Tim from eating it. Very little would.

Karsen laughed so hard he actually choked on his food. Like where did Tim get these ideas...oh yeah the robot stalkers In his defense erin deserved it but that’s not what they were talking about and stuff. No thee were talking about him actually scoring a date all by himself.
“No I didn’t threaten her or hypnotise her, okay give me some credit” He shook his head again and then sighed. It seemed kind of dorky not that he thought about it. Like he didn’t have the courage to ask her on a date and stuff so he kind of rigged her computer...yeah that was cool enough for him.
“Uh, there’s this girl named Amanda in my computer class and her computer was going all wonky so she invited me over to her dorm. Which I had to avoid dorm monitors because it was late and we aren’t allowed in the girls dorms” He never really understood that since they allowed co-ed dorms, they should be able to visit. He took a deep breath before he finished his story. “so I uh fixed her computer and then rigged the words in her essay to explode into fireworks and spell out will you go to prom with me. She said yes and we talked and I left around 3” Yeah that was everything that had happened.

No threatening or hypnotizing and Tim gave his friend a sort of "c'mon" look. "You're the one who's building revenge bots," he had to point out, neglecting to mention the whole fact that he just happened to be the one who was supplying Karsen with a lot of the parts and the weapons for the revenge bots.
Tim was also tempted to go on and point out that Karsen hadn't mentioned a girl before now. He managed to just barely hold his tongue and ended up getting the explanation he'd wanted anyway. girl in computer class named Amanda... did Tim know an Amanda? He couldn't really put a name to that face. He supposed that he could ask Lux or some of his friends or something. Erin generally knew the girls around campus... and no, Tim was not going to delve too deeply into that.
"Dude," he said, his eyes wide. "That sounds so incredibly cheesy. I can't believe it worked." He got up, laughing, and walked over to pat his friend on the back. "Look at you! Scoring with the chicks! Hey," he leaned over, "is she hot? Because that would be worth double-kudos, obviously."

“That was only that one time” Karsen said even if that one time had yet to happen it was the principle of the matter okay. At any rate he understood Tim’s disbelief, it was probably something that karsen should’ve mentioned sooner. Like he hadn’t actually known he liked the girl until they had talked a couple of times in computer class. Then there was the exchanging of numbers and stuff, he wasn’t good with the whole emotional things. People looked at him like he was crazy if he talked about technology emotions so he figured he had things all wrong.
he returned the awkward gesture with a smile and nodded “Definitely hot, and older than me she’s eighteen.” He was glad that she had yes, even though he was slightly taller than her, he thought it worked perfectly. Although he had yet to tell her that he actually liked her and stuff. ‘Uh, I managed to get her to go on an actually date with me to like the movies and out to dinner. Since I have a lot of cash.”
He was thinking since he was confessing and stuff “So uhm….since i'm like confessing and stuff...I maybe have been doing business with Drew and that’s kind of the reason a lot of my inventions been working because i have money to afford parts.” It felt good to get everything off his chest, no more secrets.

One time was probably one time too many when it came to mad scientist behavior. But again: not the focus on the conversation. not when there was more important things to worry about (like possible motivation for such behavior).
Tim's head bobbed as Karsen explained. He nibbled at the food too, because, you know, Chinese. Older than Karsen, definitely hot, and named Amanda. Tim was going to have to track this girl down. Well, that or show up at prom. Nope, tracking: definitely not going to have a rehash of last year. Lux so did not need a "Carrie" moment.
"Sounds like a pretty sweet deal," Tim admitted before taking another bite. soon he was pointing again. "But how did you--" and stopping as Karsen continued. Ah, s, doing stuff for Drew. And here came another shrug from Tim.
"Yeah, kinda figured," he replied. "I did some work for him a while back, remember? Guy's pretty much a mafia boss, but he pays well and doesn't bust many kneecaps," Tim said, before turning back to his food. He looked up at his friend. "You don't owe him some kind of debt or something, do you? 'cuz mad scientist plus mobster equals bad times.'

Karsen opened a can of mountain dew and took a sip while the wheels in Tim’s head was turning. He wasn’t exactly sure if Tim knew who Amanda was but there was a possibility that he did. Either had hadn’t heard anything bad or he wasn’t familiar with her. Either way it was a plus because well, he was going to ease the girl into his weirdness. Like stalking robots and shady deals and stuff. So not how you get someone to agree to date you.
“Uh no, actually it’s just a simple partnership he has computer troubles or technological needs and i provide them...I also get paid for such things. Not to mention my hacking supercomputer that i’m building that’s also awesome for making a videogame.” Oh yeah Karson had a lot of things going on right now that he had to fill Tim in on. He would probably be the beta tester, he had to see if Amanda was into games.
He didn’t think she was because of her favorite thing being outdoors and stuff. It was kind of obvious they were opposites but he would totally go camping for her. It was kind of a scary thought but hey, camping couldn’t be that bad if he brought his phone and an extra battery or two. “So, Uh how’s the video’s coming?"
Post by Tim Tawfeek on May 19, 2015 23:22:13 GMT -6
Just a simple partnership. Tim wasn't sure there was such a thing when you involved Drew, but he wasn't going to quite second guess Karsen just yet. He was going to keep an eye out and make sure that nothing happened there that would be too hinky. and he hated that he even thought the word "hinky."
"Doesn't sound too much different from what I've got with him,' Tim admitted. "I do small favors and find him stuff and he helped pay the bills. Helped," Tim looked up, smiling a little cockily, "because now I'm getting enough revenue and donations and stuff to do stuff on my own."
Tim took a few bites of the food, still enjoying it. He was definitely glad that he'd put off going to the cafeteria and instead camped out here. He nibbled further, nodding yet again at Karsen's question (a fairly frequent gesture from Tim).
"Pretty decent. Got some footage, been compiling interviews. Hoping to get it wrapped up by the end of summer," Tim supplied before taking another bite and looking up at Karsen. "And dude, are you using my mutant rights' vid to distract from the conversation about either your mafia connections or your secret girlfriend? Because that is so not cool."

“Well I can hardly get donation for my Stalker Bots as they are now called. Though i'll probs loan them out for halloween haunted houses and stuff.” It was true, the only person that would probably help him out would be Drew unless he could find a way to get Frank to donate. No he was good where he was at, plus Karsen didn’t exactly care about morals either way. He knew that Drew was a Mob Boss type person and it was always better to be in their good graces.
“Cool, Cool and shit dude, I got caught” He said grinning cheekily at his friend, there wasn’t much to say. “I mean, me and Amanda have watched a few movies and eaten Pizza and Drew took me too the second hand computer parts shop for a shopping spree. Other than that their isn’t much.’ Okay maybe there was more to it because he was really digging Amanda but Karsen wasn’t sure what the whole talk about girls thing entitled.
He only listened somewhat when Tim started talking about Lux...so he didn’t know exactly what topics he should be talking about. Like...he hadn’t even asked her to be his girlfriend yet and he wasn't sure she’d say yes.
