Quinn didn't intend to go to the prom. And he had tons of reasons not to. First of all, it was a social event and those didn't mix well with the moody boy. It was also some sort of popularity contest more than anything else to him and he didn't do those things. Not to add that it was mostly for seniors and he was a junior. Not that he intended to be there next year for his prom. Anyway, who was expecting him there? It wasn’t because the theme seemed to match his power perfectly that he should go.
So he went. Out of curiosity. He seriously didn’t mean to stay very long. He would just come, see what kind of decoration they put, what the food and drinks tasted like, roll his eyes at the people from the yearbook committee and the newspaper taking pictures of the event, hope something happens to ruin it for everyone and then head back to his room. He didn’t even bother to wear something prom-worthy. Why should he bother buying a tux or anything of the like. He was wearing a burgundy shirt underneath his school jacket. That was as formal as they’ll get of him. At least it was red, so he could pretend to anyone complaining that he was fitting the theme of fire and ice.
The punch was... okay he supposed. Not really his thing but he was not going to say anything about it. The music and atmosphere was exactly what he expected, very ‘like in the movies’. Was it pathetic that he came here alone? Perhaps but it was not like people must have expected him to have a date. Quinn figured most of them didn’t even know who he was. He was wrong on that part.
No need to say that Quinn didn’t intend to dance either. He just stood there, looking at others, watching who was having fun and which couples were breaking up tonight. And then Elsa announced the Prom royalty. Quinn had voted for Lucy. Mostly because she was about the only girl in junior that he knew well enough to vote for someone he knew of. And because it was just hilarious to imagine her being crowned the Prom Princess. He seriously didn’t think she had a chance but it would seem that people loved their bitch because she got it. Leaning against the wall, making himself discreet, he intended to watch the whole scene with a smirk on his face but it faded pretty fast when his name was also called along with hers. Wait, what? Who the hell voted for him? No, seriously, who knew him enough to decided that Tarquin Wiley, insert shudder of disgust at the mention of his full name, should be the Prom Prince? This had to be a joke. He didn't move, waiting for Elsa to say there had been a mistake, that someone swapped the right paper with the right names for this farce. No. People really seemed to expect Lucy James and Tarquin Wiley to go and get their crown. No need to say, he was not interested in going anywhere.
