She had not expected the meek-willed Shiloh to press the topic. It had been a mistake to even bring it up, she realized now. But then again, she hadn't seen Shiloh string so many sentences together before, and she did enjoy seeing him talk so much. "Don't know," she shrugged, truly not knowing. "Whatever he wants I guess." Sometimes Addison was meek as well.
"He's my father," Addy told him quietly, as if that alone justified everything she'd soon be put to, and rebuked Shiloh for not liking it. Besides, it was her life, it didn't matter whether he liked it or not. Soon enough he wouldn't have to worry about it, so she didn't understand why he was bothering now. "I'm not a nice person, I just did the right thing," Addison informed Shiloh with an awkward shrug.
Unwilling to stay on the topic, Addy snapped back to something he had brought up before and grinned. "So invisibility, huh? That sounds awesome."
Shiloh stayed silent for several moments, frowning. That wasn't right, her dad shouldn't do stuff like that to her. He supposed it didn't really matter much what he thought though...it wasn't gunna change anything. Shiloh just wished he could help Addy in some type of way, even if she said she wasnt a nice person Shiloh knew she was. If she wasn't one then she would have never helped him out in the first place.
"Oh...yeah." The kid said, snapping back into reality. "It's alright I guess." He hadn't found a real use for it yet, besides running away. The boy extended his arm and nodded towards it. It started disappearing and within a second was seemingly no longer there. "But like I said, I can only do it in completion for six minutes. Well...it's actually five minutes and fifty-two seconds...but I just say six minutes because it's easier." Shiloh looked back down at his arm as it slowly started to become visible again. "What can you do?"
She took Shiloh's silence as surrender and huffed a sigh of relief. It didn't do to dwell on inevitability, or live in the future. She hated things out of her control, but what she hated even more was dwelling on those things. It was like rubbing it in her face.
Her blue eyes widened as Shiloh's hand literally disappeared. "Now that is super cool," she breathed, reaching out a hand to swipe at the seemingly empty space. However, she still came into contact with Shiloh's hand, and pulled her own back quickly. "You're good, I can't see a thing." Addy laughed. "I think I'd freak out though, if parts of my body started to disappear."
At his question she tipped her head. "I can control the weather." she admitted with a small shrug. "Like sun and rain and such, though only around the world, just in my general area."
"I'm not that good." He said with a laugh. "If I was reaaaaally good I would be able to turn invisible for as long as I wanted. Now that would be cool, sometimes I try and think what my power is good for-" The boy said, scrunching his nose a bit. "-but all I really come up with are like...bad things. Robbing banks and stuff like that...not that I would ever do something like that. I just...I don't find many...what's the word? Uhhh...practical uses for my power." Shiloh shrugged, not that it mattered. He didn't really plan on using his powers that often anyway.
"Woah, now that's really cool! Can you make lightning? Geeze, that's awesome. Like...if it was raining and you didn't want it to? Boom! No more rain! Gaaaah, I wish I had a cool power like that." What would it be like to control the weather around you, Shiloh could only imagine that each day would be great, you could literally make each day the exact perfect day you wanted...weather wise at least.
"I think I'd be a spy," she decided resolutely, with quite a lot of excitement in her voice. "I mean, you don't have to do bad things. There are a lot of people who wouldn't like mutants, and when our presence is finally revealed, I bet you'd have heaps to do with your gift, at least, there will be a lot of people trying to get your help." she informed him thoughtfully. He could work as a spy or a tracker or just someone to gather information. She doubted Shiloh would like anything like that though, and it sounded dangerous.
"You could be a super hero, you know?" she giggled. "And stop all the bank robbers, instead of robbing the banks yourself. I could be your side-kick!" She was getting swept along with the idea, cheerfully bouncing along as she thought about it.
"It's not as cool as it sounds. I can't tell you how many times I've had a personal rain cloud above my head on a sunny day," she admitted bashfully. While the sound of her power sounded awesome, it was ridiculous to try and control. "I can, but I can't control it or anything, I can just make it happen." They were finally at the end of the hall and Addy pushed the door open with a grunt to walk out into the courtyard. The dorm rooms were on the other side.
"A spy?" The boy asked, thinking about it for a moment. "Yeah! That could be cool! I could go on top secret mission and stuff!" He said grinning. "If they caught me though...maybe I don't want to be a spy after all. I have a feeling nearly dying is something they would deal with on a regular basis. I...uh...I don't think I'd be that great under pressure." Shiloh said, shaking his head. "And I'm definitely not super hero material. Maybe I'd be a sidekick though...super heroes don't have lame powers like invisibility. That's totally side kick power." He nodded, he was sure of that.
"Still! If you can learn to-" He stopped, right, her dad was taking her out of the school. "-sorry." He should have just stopped while he was ahead. "Alright." The boy nodded whenever she said they were almost there. Shiloh looked at Addy a few times, but stayed silent. How could he help her stay here? She needed to be here!
