“Clearly the French version is better.” Franck might be biased here and he was ready to admit it. Though most ‘French’ version of a song tended to suck in his opinion. This one was different however. He heard the French version first, loved it, bought the album and then found out there was an English version of it. No surprise then that he preferred the French one even though the beat was virtually the same, so were the lyrics for the most part. But it was too strange for him to change elle me dit (she tells me) into Emily. It just didn't work.

“Though the old guy in the video is creepy, don’t you think?” And on that, Franck showed the video again to Felix. He just had the boy listen to both versions already. Franck couldn’t even remember what brought them to talk about this and make him get the two versions for his friend to listen at. They probably talked of music in general and it went there. Music was, after all, an easy subject to bring with Felix. And since Mika happened to be one of Franck’s favourite artist, he had to mention him at some point. Probably talked of his latest album coming this summer and that led to this song comparison.

Franck took his phone back before the end of the video. Talking of such a light subject actually felt good, as Franck was used to handle more personal matters when discussing with people. It seemed to be the natural turn things took when he was around, probably due to his power. He would eventually talk of this. Felix was back and apparently he was seeing Elsa and all. He was interested in hearing some detail (the non-sexual ones of course). And see how he was handling the rumours. But for now, he was fine talking of music. “I suppose if one prefers the English version it’s because they don’t speak French. Maybe it’s the same reason why I prefer the French version. I don’t know. But I still think it’s better.”

"You know, I only know the most basic of French," Felix admitted before folding one leg over the other as he settled back, Franck's phone in his hand. The video was streaming on the screen, the french vocals sounding out across the room. The radio host raised a brow, tilting his head as he watched the music video with clear intrigue.
Felix was generally always willing to give bands and songs a decent chance, and with how his mind now could pick up each separate layer of sound thanks to his music theory research and enhanced by his ability, he could perhaps analyse music better then most.

It felt... Good, to be like this with Franck. Felix has always felt extremely comfortable around the guy, despite everything that had happened between them... The drunken kiss at last year's prom, and Felix's sudden and abrupt leave from the Academy... And yet he had found himself slipping back into his friendship with the Frenchman as though none of that had even occurred, or at least that none of it had truly impacted what the pair of them had. Upon Felix's return, further developments had occurred which he was fairly certain the entire student body knew about by now, mostly thanks to that vile blog... Yet Franck hadn't judged him, still treated him as he always had; But that was Franck... The guy had a heart of gold, and was one of the people Felix trusted beyond any doubt. He'd wanted to bring up recent events with Franck, but also didn't want to weigh any more weight on the other man's heart; With the amount of emotions Franck dealt with on a daily basis, the last thing he needed was more that weren't his own effecting him. That being said, Felix wouldn't hide how he felt from the Frenchman; The guy could read them like a book anyway... So if he wanted the radio host to delve into it, he would... But he'd let Franck decide if he wanted to question him about it.

Felix grinned, chuckling a little as Franck took the phone away from him. "Actually, I don't exactly understand the French version, but it's much better put together as a song," He replied, before playfully nudging his friend's arm. "You have good taste."

“You mean you only know bonjour, oui s’il vous plait and où sont les toilettes?” Franck replied with a teasing tone. This being said by Franck, the tease was light and not the kind you’d ever be offended by, let alone when you happened to be Felix Nicholas and knew the Frenchman well. Franck wouldn’t mind if Felix preferred the English version, or no version at all. Mika was amongst his favourite artist but he never tried once to push Felix to play any of his favourite songs in the past and didn’t intend to start now. He simply liked to show some of his favourite artists, knowing they might not be as well known around here. Mika sang in English though, so it was perhaps amongst the most famous.

Besides, it was so easy to talk with Felix, of just anything, and such a change to talk of something else than feelings or whatever drama going on in their lives. He knew there were a lot of things going on right now they could discuss of. But Franck dared not to bring it up first. If he asked Felix how things were going with Elsa, he would give them permission to talk of his relationship with Jasper and he knew most people didn’t seem to see it as something good.

Still, Franck could tell from some spikes of emotions piercing through on occasion from Felix, that the boy might want to talk about something, probably something related to their love life. The question was to ask Felix’ of Franck’s. He smiled brightly as Felix said he liked the song. “Thank you,” he replied. For a moment, since he had been lost in his thoughts of relationships, he wondered if the comment about taste was said for Jasper but he chased it off his mind as they were not discussing it. “I mean, I’m not expecting you to play it on the radio, I just wanted to have you listen to it. It’s nice to discover new artists. Just because you don’t get exactly what they’re singing doesn’t make it any less good. I don’t tell you the amount of time I don’t get what English singers are saying, and I’d say I’m not too abd in English no?”

Felix raised a brow at his friend's teasing tone, a grin spreading across his lips before he gave a small laugh. "Hey, I know a little more then that! How about... Dormirez-vous avec moi ce soir?" He then laughed again, knowing the Frenchman would take it as the lighthearted joke it was intended to be; Felix had always felt as though Franck was one of the few people he could be completely comfortable with, someone whom he truly trusted. There were others, granted, that also held that title, but Franck... He'd always been there. In a way, Franck was Felix's emotional rock. He knew if he had honestly not agreed with him on his song opinion, Franck would have taken it without insult; That was he kind of gentleman he was... Although it so happened Felix did prefer the French version in this case.

It felt good, to be able to talk like this, casually with no heavy emotional weight; That wasn't to say the radio host didn't want it to go in that direction, however... The both of them held significant developments in their lives, most notably their love lives...Felix hadn't the chance to talk to anyone really about his emotions towards Elsa Bellefonte, or what their relationship was exactly... And of course, Felix knew about Franck's boyfriend. Felix hadn't had any dealings with the Emory twins personally, but he'd heard enough about them to make him weary of how close his friend was to one of them. Franck was... An amazing person, someone who took on so much and strived to do his best to aid others despite how he himself would feel; He was kindhearted, decent... A true friend. He deserved someone who treated him with as much affection and love as he gave out, someone who cared for him deeply and wanted nothing more then his happiness. Was that person Jasper Emory? Felix... Honestly was very skeptical, and the last thing he wanted was for Franck to fall too deep into something that would only hurt him in the end.

"Hey, I was thinking about doing some international playlists since so many students and staff here aren't American," Felix smiled. "I'd love to have your input on a French playlist." He then paused, his smile falling away slightly as he averted his gaze from his friend a moment. "... Would you mind if... If I took this conversation on a more serious route?" He looked back to Franck, smiling warmly, although a few fleeting nerves sparked somewhere in his stomach as he ran a hand through his hair; He'd not discussed what was happening between him and Elsa with anyone except the short conversation he'd had with Erika on board the ship, so he was feeling a little nervous at bringing it up now... But he trusted Franck, and he knew the Frenchman woud give his answers honestly. "I mean, you must know what's happening beween me and Elsa."

Franck was not often teasing, at least he didn't think he was the kind to do so very often but it was something he grew to do more often over the past few months. It was never in a cruel way, he would not allow him, and only with those he knew enough to be certain they would not take it badly in case it came out wrong. He learned to accept that fact that he should not try to be everyone’s friend all the time. Felix knew him for long enough that Franck didn’t need to always be over him, ready to help out for everything and anything. He could tease him and he noticed how he was actually finding that funny. “Well, I suppose what you more wanted to say was Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir but it sure works too,” he let out as he laughed as well. Thank you Moulin Rouge and Lady Marmalade for making this such a well known phrase. After that, so many people said it without even realising just what it exactly meant which was rather funny to Franck, although a little shocking too. It certainly was when someone said that line as it was the only one they knew in French.

It seemed to be a way like any other to start talking of their love life, especially since Franck knew as a fact that Felix and Elsa did sleep together. It really had been more details than what he intended to get from the young woman and he wondered if she did not give them to him as a reminder that it was not his business and he had no reason to pry. She was right and if he asked, it was only out of concern for two friends of his. The two could date whoever they wanted, including each other if that was their desire.

He had Elsa’s version of it and was a little curious about what Felix had to say, and think, about this. But he also wished they could talk of it without the conversation going towards his own relationship. Erika knew and seemed happy for him. Frank too, but that was Frank. Franck actually feared that one of his friends would go for the ‘if that makes you happy’ comment, implying he wouldn’t have chosen him for the boy.

“Really?” Franck asked about the playlist. He knew many were not Americans and it was like Felix to take this into consideration. But starting him on the subject of French songs... “If so, you should put some Stromae songs, I’d say it’s even more of a must even though I don’t know just how many more people knowing French there are other than me,” he told him, restraining himself from digging through his own playlist to give his friends more names and more songs.

Felix’s emotions shifted and Franck lifted his head as he sensed it. He got that this was more serious before the boy even opened his mouth. “Sure,” he answered, putting aside his phone. He looked at Felix, waiting for him to talk. He blinked as he mentioned Elsa. Well... and he thought he’d have to bring it up! “I do. Actually... I talked to Elsa a little about this,” he admitted.

Felix could joke with many, with few could he joke with on the same level as Franck. They understood each other, each other's limits in terms of how far a joke could go; The kiss from almost a year ago, and Felix's sudden leave then return appeared to have altered their friendship little, if at all. Felix still adored him, and he hoped the Frenchman felt the same way about him. He took his attempt at French lightheartedly, Felix being fairly certain he'd likely butchered the pronunciation. Franck corrected him, and Felix gave a warm laugh and bumped the guy's shoulder with his own. "You don't have to ask me twice!" He joked, casting his friend a smile.

Felix however shifted the conversation's tone as he selected to bring up recent romantic developments in his life. Felix didn't know how much Franck knew about the situation, but with the amount of rumor about him and the "ice princess" of Bellefonte, he'd likely heard something. He certainly didn't know that the guy knew he'd slept with Elsa... More then once. Felix frankly had no intention of bringing it up... He highly doubted Franck would want to hear it, and it wasn't relevant to what he wanted to discuss... That, and Felix Nicholas wasn't the kind of guy who kissed and told.
No, Felix wanted... Needed... To talk through the tangled mess of emotions in his heart. He didn't want to impose on his friend,
but the last time Felix had fought to hold back how he was feeling it had ended in spectacular disaster... Now that the tangled lines were starting to become more readable, he needed... To try and think what was going to be the best move forward.

The radio host took Franck's response to his asking for help in regards to a French playlist with a bright smile, knowing his friend would be more then willing to help his cause. "You'll have to pop by the station later, give me a list," He grinned, before nodding to his friend. "Thanks, though... I'm sure it'll go a small way into helping soem of the international students feel a little more at home."
Felix then looked to Franck with a concerned expression, although his smile remained on his lips; he settled back on the sofa, one arm around his chest, running his hand through his hair with the other. He'd already spoken to Elsa about it... Had she instigated the conversation? Had she wanted to talk about him? "... You did?" He spoke softly, thoughtfully. "... What did she say?" He wasn't sure if Franck would tell him, as it may have been a strictly private conversation, but he was curious to what exactly they'd discussed.

Franck still was a little embarrassed about the kiss, should anyone bring it up. It was something however neither of them would talk of again. And Elsa was not likely to say anything about it either. It was not like Franck wanted to compete with her over Felix’s attention. He always knew the boy was straight and had no chance, it was why he used to make a few jokes about loving him in the past. He was not as interested in making them anymore. Maybe one could come out at some point, due to habit. But when Felix was the one who joked about it, it surprised Franck for a moment. There was nothing that could indicate him being uncomfortable with what Franck once did. “Yeah I know. You are sadly too straight for me,” he let out. A small smile appeared on his lips. He might not be ready for this kind of jokes just yet but he still smiled as he got it was one. He nodded as he said he could give him a list of songs to consider. He would, but the topic now turned to something far more serious and obviously more important than whatever French song he might want to play on the radio.

What Franck knew of his friend’s relation with another one of his friends was something he would keep to himself. He did not fully know why Elsa had to tell him all of this, if it was to show him to mind his own business or that she laughed at the rumours the Laundry could spread on her account. It mattered little in the end. He shifted on his seat a moment as Felix questioned him. “With all that happened to her and your return and the rumours flying around, I just wanted to see how she was doing. It just came out,” he explained. It was not like Elsa to ask advice, at least not to him and he didn’t want his friend to think he wanted to know like some sort of gay gossip queen. “She’s been through a lot and had a rough time before you showed up. I didn’t know for you two but I knew she used to... question herself, before you left. I didn’t want her to feel even worse than she already did.” He preferred not to say more than this, not being comfortable about discussing what he might have told with someone else. “She just told me you two were seeing each other,” was pretty much all he allowed himself to share.
