Tim had sent a text to his best friend, Karsen Ford ,to let him know to meet up in the office again. Usually that required a little more explanation, but Tim and Kar had pretty well worked out that the office meant the room that they'd more or less taken over a year or so ago to work through the various ideas. Tim had at least three different projects laid out on the tables, most in blueprint phase, while he wheeled about, studying each in turn.
He was at last freed from his internet ban (and still was debating revenge on the idiot who'd helped get him there), which opened up some new potentials. He'd definitely have to get Kar working and making sure that they could do everything Tim had promised for the vid (and he still had to doublecheck with Kar that he was okay with the whole interview and being filmed thing). There was also a few blueprints to try another stupid stunt, though Tim was really hoping to get Jack to do the actual stunt this time. The whole losing feeling in his lower half thing had kind of put a damper on Tim wanting to be quite so insane.
Though he was staring at a blueprint now, wondering. "Well, they did it on that one show..." he mused aloud, tilting his head. "So maybe it's actually possible?"
Which was how about half the ideas they got to work with started, really.

Karsen would deny that he was sleeping if he was asked, he was not supposed to take naps during the day because he would be up all night working on a project. When he got Tim Tawfeek 's text he figured it was for the best that he got it. It had been awhile since they had worked on their projects considering the state his friend was in but he was excited to get back to work. There was only so much trouble the boy could get into by himself. He quickly got dressed and left his room leaving his dog behind for once.
Getting to the office he walked in on Tim talking to himself “Of course it’s possible we just need the right tools” he said offering his friend a small smirk and walking over to the blueprint he was talking about. The problem with a lot of their projects was materials and time, any of their projects that were worth doing were a bit complicated. Also He was guilty of adding way too many details or upgrades to something that should be simple.
“So what are we going to work on today?” he asked curious to why they were in the office. It was probably about the show, he knew that Tim hadn’t been on air for awhile so he probably had to catch up. Come to think of it, neither one of them had really done anything for awhile…..it was probably a good thing they were back to work.

"You said that about the glider," Tim said. Though he knew that would essentially be returning to their standard argument. It had definitely been a lack of Tim's ability to steer that had resulted in that glider being trashed, then left in a tree, then having Kar lecture him repeatedly about not leaving projects in trees.
"Well, there's a few ideas,' Tim said, reaching up to adjust his glasses. He tapped the blueprints. "It mostly comes down to what we could attach rockets on or whether we could actually amplify the whole bat sonar thing enough and it still work."
Which had been something they'd discussed after watching The Dark Knight. Again, the theory was definitely there. It was just a matter of figuring out how precisely they could pull it off given that half the time they were working with bubble-gum and spare parts.
Tim adjusted his glasses again, then snapped his fingers, turning to point. "And did you make any progress on the whole VR headset things? The ones we talked about for gaming? I was kind of hoping that we could get that set up before the Clan goes on a raid," he paused for a moment, chuckling and shaking his head. "Man, I will not get over talking about the Clan with you..."

“Hey that glider totally worked, it’s not my fault we need someone with better hand-eye coordination that we have.” In his defense he had tried his best, considering they were stranded in montana and the mountains they couldn’t exactly avoid the trees. he probably should’ve calculated that when he went into the project and picked a place with less trees to practice. He was taking partial blame for that one “Hey ten bucks it works in a field somewhere without tree’s...unless we find a better driver.’ He saved that away for later just incase Tim took the bet and he owed his friend ten bucks….he needed to save ten bucks.
“well we could always try to Professor Xavier slash pimp my ride your wheel chair” Karsen offered with a spark behind his eyes, he pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose as they had fallen down. He had a habit of looking over the top of them and that wasn’t good by any doctor’s standards. “The bat sonar thing, I was looking into that and in theory I could get it to work like they did in the movies….but the main problem would be getting the phone signals. Like unless you can get me everyone’s number in the entire school it’s kind of limited to the numbers we do know. Unless you want me to walk up down the hallways trying to lock onto cell phones with my gift and add them one by one that way.
Karsen scratched his head in thought as he continued “All we’d have to do is track the signal by the number and then register in a system and then get it to provide a image of the pulse or something or another. Still there’s a possibility that without the right tools it would be like a mega phone book.” seeing as they were working with spare parts and whatever tools they could find in kalispell they didn’t have anything to work with. The down side of the school was that there weren’t many options when it came to stuff like that. Even if there were, karsen didn’t like asking for help.
“Yes they're almost done, I just need to know that the headsets will stay with person they're given too and nobody is gonna steal the design. “ Karsen was positive that he could trust Tim with his technology and that he wouldn’t be exploited. He was however just covering the normal bases before he handed over anything. “They should be operational by the next raid, do you wanna come to the room and test it out?”

Tim winced, though only a little, as Karsen rightfully ragged on him yet again about the glider. Well, at least they'd managed to recover the parts. True, it had taken a bit longer than it really should have, but it wasn't as though they'd left it out there to rust... for that long.
It was tempting to go all Xavier on the chair. It wasn't the first time they'd talked about it, but Tim still wasn't sure, given that he was already starting to get feeling and could actually stand for a limited period of time. Felt like a lot of work for something that would be relatively temporary. Especially with everything else they had on their plates. Like the bat sonar thing.
Tim had to chuckle at that. "Oh, we could so get everyone's number," Tim said, grinning sardonically. "Heck, we probably would just have to ask some of the popular ones. Or get the cat or Erin or someone to just do a little hacking," it was somewhat tempting, but it wasn't like Tim needed to go all superhero.
Which put things down to the real priority at hand: getting their badass gaming gear set. "Awesome! I so knew you could pull it off," Tim practically crowed. He rubbed his hands together. "Though seriously, I don't think we gotta worry about the crew taking off with 'em. We can trust Erin, obviously. And Cassidy. And I doubt Lux would do anything. Maddie...." Tim raised a hand, wiggling it a little, "but she could probably also figure out your design by looking at it." He had to smirk at Karsen at that, loving pointing out the other (pretty) technopath on campus... who happened to spend most of her time making sex toys and other stuff.

Karsen rolled his eyes and shook his head “Yeah ill let you do that and you can just give me the numbers you get” He was not going to hassle a bunch of people for their numbers. He’d much rather let someone else do that and just set up the whole system or something. Then again whenever it came to actually talking to people, Tim was the man to go to.
He was just the brains powering the projects and he was completely okay with that. No need to worry about people trying to eat his enormous bag of doritos. He wasn’t sure about the whole Erin thing but if that’s what Tim wanted. Unfortunately their awkward meeting was still on Karsen’s mind.
For the most part he shrugged it off, just the usual no one would steal anything and that was fine with him. He was more worried about someone taking credit for his work than he was stealing. It was one thing to be robbed it was another to be a victim of plagiarism. “Yeah...Maddie is pretty…..uhm...cool” Karsen wasn’t sure what to think about the other technopath but he did laugh at the last part ‘Everybody has their interest”

Tim nodded, grinning. "Awesome, I can definitely get something to you. Give me a few weeks," because Tim wouldn't be Tim if he wasn't juggling a half a dozen projects at one time. He was fairly confident that he could manage that though, since it would literally entail sending a quick message to some of his contacts and just waiting for stuff to go through and go along.
Sometimes, Tim really did feel like some kind of strange middleman. He had a few of the high up muckedy mucks coming to him for various "nerd projects" since he was the high profile one, and then he'd go to his various friends and rig stuff together... much like he was doing here, though admittedly this was definitely just for the two of them.
"Yeah, pretty cool," Tim said with a knowing smile, "as in 'I'd probably be daydreaming about doing her if I weren't practically engaged to Lux' cool," he said, adding a little chuckle. He nodded and gestured. "C'mon, I'm sure you got some stuff to show me, right? Let's check it out. Maybe I can give you some tips on getting the girl while we're at it."
Post by Karsen Ford on Apr 29, 2015 16:07:36 GMT -6
Karsen nodded, even if he didn’t get the whole wanting bat sonar thing, he would attempt it for his friend. Not to mention, the fact that tim could probably get the phone numbers of everyone one in school was kind of shocking in a weird way. He really ignored how of open a lot of his friends were but sometimes he realized that a lot of his friends had a wide social circle.
“yeah I can understand why, and yeah…i’m not sure how to respond to last bit but I get to be the best man right?” Karsen rolled his eyes, he was sued to Tim’s girl speak but there was something interesting about Maddie even if he didn’t admit it. Of course it was just because she was a Technopath and he would deny it if you said it was anything else.
Anyways now that, that was out of the way and they had talked about the headsets it was time to talk about what Karsen had been doing. “Okay, so there was a james bond marathon on and I was thinking, life would be better if we had spy gear, also I made a infrared camera because Erin freaked me out.” Although Karsen only installed a mini camera and walkie talkie in a watch he thought it was cool. This was totally why he didn’t leave his room, trying to build stuff on he saw on Tv. He put the watches and receiver pieces on the table, along with his laptop and the camera. ”Getting the girl? Exactly what girl am I supposed to be getting?” “He asked his friend raising an eyebrow in the process.

Tim chuckled, shaking his head. "Maybe sometime, but I'd like to at least get through college first..." he trailed off. He really didn't know how long Lux actually had left. Should he wait? or should he just up and propose to her now, make her years as good as they could be? No, that latter just felt like being nice.
Damn, Karsen: why you gotta make Tim think deep thoughts?
He brushed it aside, instead nodding as Karsen talked about spy cameras. "You should really talk to the Bellefontes themselves or someone else who's stupidly rich. Cox would work, uh, Frank," he said, nodding. "You get one of them to start funding you, and you'll turn into Q before too much longer."
Tim adjusted his glasses again, then looked up at Karsen at the last question. Tim could only shrug: "I dunno: there one in particular? I'd say I could set you up with Erin, but you don't have compatible parts." Tim held up both hands, fingers spread, and sort of pushed them against each other in a semi-suggestive manner.

Karsen shrugged his shoulders, he wasn’t well versed in how relationships work or how they evolved to the next step. “Well at any rate I call dibs on best man no matter who you marry just putting it out there.” The odds that high school sweethearts get married are really slim, but he didn’t say anything.
“I think Ill stay away from the Bellefonte’s, twins make my head spin and as for Frank, Im not all that familiar with her” He said he was pretty sure Frank was a girl….unless it was a different Frank. “Yeah but then I’d be required to make spy gear that would probably be used on me somehow in the future.”
“Uh...not really I’m not sure I could handle a relationship….not that I would Know how to approach someone to even....I have no idea” Karsen said thinking of someone he’d want to go out with, he didn’t really know that many people to be honest.
“Anyways, you know how online there are people trying to copy the whole google glass thing, I totally want something like that. Back to the watches, they record sound and video, take picturs and you can talk to however has one by pressing the green button, the grey button is for the camera, the red is to record.” He explained point to each button.
Post by Tim Tawfeek on May 2, 2015 21:08:45 GMT -6
"You got dibs," Tim promised, nodding. "Worst is that you might have to fight Jack McCarthy for it, and I think even you'd win." Unless Maddie actually went through with that Iron Man suit, but then Karsen could probably build one of his own. Actually, there was a part of Tim that wanted to suggest precisely that. Just thinking about how many views that vid would count nearly gave him an idea boner.
Though that dimmed somewhat as Karsen shot down most of the funding possibilities. Tim could understand wanting to avoid the Bellefontes, though Elsa was more bark than bite (unless you crossed the wrong person, then she suddenly went all mafiso on you), and the only thing you had to worry about regarding Erika was getting kidnapped or messing with her boyfriend. Still, it was a thought of the future.
As was Karsen wanting a girl. "Eh," Tim said, shrugging, "we all can't be ruled by the penis," and with that, he scooted forward, willing enough to look through the watch as Karsen talked through it. "So you're making a James Bond watch? You know I was kidding about the Q thing, right? Because you're too cool for that."
Post by Karsen Ford on May 3, 2015 11:37:16 GMT -6
Karsen laughed and shook his head. Maybe by the time he was actually able to be a best man he would be less against physical confrontation. He wasn’t all that worried about fighting off someone for Best man either he was or he wasn’t. At anyrate he could build them some awesome device as a wedding gift because there was no way he was looking a registry.
Karsen didn’t comment further on the funding thing, he was way too into things with Drew there was no need for Tim to know where he got the money for a lot of the parts recently. Obviously the better quality machines were productive of Drew’s funding for various illegal things.
nah way better, the watch projects the movies like a projector. Don’t ask how i fit the lense but the watch needs to be plugged in and charged like a phone. Also these are way awesomer than that, think spy kids mixed with really awesome Karsen Flair” He ignored the thing about being ruled by the penis because he wasn’t. He was just trying to understand what was so good about relationships and stuff. They were adorable but nothing else really stuck with him.

Strange how there was that beat of silence there. Tim was tempted to poke it, to see if something was going on with Karsen. But he knew better than to dig around too much with his friend. Part of being a nerd was not really being too great at the whole talking thing, even when you were with your friends. Plus, Tim knew that his sort of step up on the social ladder and girlfriend had put a little strain on the relationship.
"Dude," he said, grinning wide, "that is so damn cool! You got the thing ready to use? Because you know I want to try some of that spy shit. Man," he shook his head, looking around again, "this mutation thing is just messed up. You get to become Mr. Wizard while I'm stuck talking to bats."
Tim shook his head a few more times before looking over at Karsen. "And you don't got it running on bioenergy yet? Maybe I should take back the awesome power comment." He grinned wide, brows raised though, as if it wasn't already clear that he was joking.
Post by Karsen Ford on May 4, 2015 23:13:27 GMT -6
Karsen nodded and offered the watch to Tim “Yeah of course it’s ready to use, why do you think I brought it up.” He laughed at the enthusiasm because someone had to be excited about it besides him. Sometimes he felt like a mad scientist always in his room tinkering with stuff because come on he barely had a life. “yeah the only problem with it is the zoom feature, when in camera mode the volume works as a zoom in button like on a phone. But sometimes it goes a bit wonky, I think I might need to work on a 2.0 version now that I have basic design. Expect some spy glasses also because i’m so doing that.”
When Tim started about the powers He couldn’t do much but shrug. He had no idea why certain people got certain powers and others didn’t. THough he supposed he should start really becoming a scientist like biochemistry and trying to clone people. He just figured that was too comic book like for the real world.
“well think of it like this, i’ll spend all my life in lab and you’ll be out talking and interacting with people. Besides doesn’t talking to bats make you an animal lover….don’t chicks dig that?” Anything to change the subject off who has a cooler power. He rolled his eyes at the joke, bioenergy was something that would probably leave him powerless unless he could find a way around the workings. He was kind of glad the world had a dependency on electronics. “hey now you know I totally would try and figure that shit out but its all about the electrical pulse man, no pulse to magic.’

"Ha, ha! Awesome!" Tim said, taking the watch. he started fiddling with it while Karsen explained the details. Tim tilted it about and noticed its size: not bad, but probably a little on the noticeable size. You could only put so much onto a watch before it started to get a little clunky after all. Though Tim was also moving around because clearly there should be something of a laser there.
The watch actually distracted Tim from the whole powers conversation for the most part, as tech generally did. But he did spare Karsen a few looks as his friend continued, outlining where Tim was likely to end up. "Some chicks," Tim replied, smiling slightly, glad that Karsen was at least trying to lighten the moment. There was an eyeroll for a joke, which Tim definitely deserved.
"I bet we could rig something up with some of those electrokinetics," Tim said, tilting his hand to poke at a few buttons. "I think I know one too, or Erin does, or something," Tim paused for a moment, his lips contorting in concentration. "Yeah, someone who's, like, in our crowd or whatever," Tim tapped a button and saw the watch face flip. "I think I just logged onto a website. Now, let's see what you have in your history..." Tim started flipping, smiling to himself as he did. This was phenomenally cool, after all, and of course Tim had to tease his bud about it.
