Thread set during the spring break event
In a way, Lux was kind of glad she hadn't gone with the other students on the cruise ship. Not only because large ships and the open sea made the girl uncomfortable and nervous, but also because that had pretty much left the entire school empty, and she had the chance of spending a lot more time with her boyfriend, Tim Tawfeek without having to worry about any distractions, and really, she felt as if they hadn't gotten a chance to do that much, without somehow having either Jack or someone else hanging over them at a constant pace.
Pulling her hair behind her ear, Luxanna turned her head to look at Tim. A small smile formed on her lips. "Okay, I swear I put something else than horror movies into this box," she sighed, giving the small box filled with various movies (zombies, mostly) a little nudge before pulling her hand away. Pushing herself up, Luxanna walked over to the couch and sat down next to Tim.
"If they're not there, I don't know where else they could be..." Maybe Jack had borrowed some of them without her remembering? No, he hardly seemed like the type for those kind of movies anyways. And watching a zombie splatter hardly seemed like the kind of thing you wanted to do when supposedly doing romantic boyfriend-girlfriend things.... Maybe they were past that by now. She didn't know.

"Pretty sure I've mentioned being okay with the horror movies before," Tim said dryly. he reached up to adjust his glasses and leaned over to look at the box again. Since he'd already plopped himself down on the couch, he didn't exactly have a whole lot in the way of movement options. His legs were fortunately getting better, but he was pretty much at the "wow, look at me stand" phase right now.
"You sure that Jack hasn't been in these?" Tim asked. He gave Lux a look slightly out the side of his vision. He knew that things had been rough between her and her best friend since the Truth or Dare debacle, so he didn't want to accidentally make things worse by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or something. But when he reached in and pulled out Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan well...
"Or you've got some really odd movie tastes," he mumbled, looking at the DVD. He was actually afraid to open it, as he could just see Jack putting something... something else in the case.

Looking at Tim again, the brunette pursed her lips. She looked as if she was about to protest, but even she had to admit that some of these movies seemed rather... Well, Jack. "Well..." she began as she looked back at the box again. Yes, things between her and Jack had been tense, to say the least, but Lux held no ill feelings towards the boy, even if she often found him being a little too overprotective and made a fuss about a lot that didn't need to be made a fuss about. She looked at the movie Tim pulled out and offered him a sheepish smile. "Okay, that isn't mine," she chuckled.
Scooting over to the couch, Luxanna rested her chin upon one of the cushions as she peeked up at Tim through her lashes. "Are you okay? You seem a little out of it." Hoisting herself up so that she was sitting next to him, Luxanna pulled her feet up to her chest and rested her cheek against her knees. "We can totally do something else-- I mean, if you'd rather prefer that." She cast a glance towards the box and shrugged. Maybe it was time they did something different.
As much as Lux was comfortable with the things she knew, which usually meant doing the same few things over and over again, she didn't want Tim to get bored. Not of what they did, or her. She leaned in close and placed a chaste kiss on his cheek before leaning her head down against his shoulder.
Tim chuckled as Lux admitted. He also had to nod, before gently letting the DVD fall back into its case. He flicked through a few more, while his eyes still kept drifting over his shoulder to look at Lux too. He still couldn't quite believe that the girl he'd daydreamed about for so long had a personality like this. Even now, he still kept marveling at just how amazing she was and how lucky he was.
Which made him wince as she picked up on his mood. Tim rubbed the back of his head. "Things just haven't been going great lately," he admitted. Tim took another deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I'm just starting to really get feeling back in my lower half, and that feeling is apparently pain," Tim reached back, pulling himself back onto the couch, "and there's the whole banned from the internet thing..."
Though Tim was very nearly at the end of that. He'd have to check in with Erin and Karsen and the lot, see if anything had happened while he'd been away. He looked over at Lux. "So it totally doesn't have anything to do with you," he reached out, taking her hand, pulling it up to his lips to kiss lightly. "Promise. I totally want to spend time with you, and it's not like we can go on another nature hike."
He had to smile at that, hoping that the memory of the fireflies and finding Furby would distract from the whole my legs hurt, I'm banned from the internet, and life kind of sucks thing he had going on right now.

Nodding slowly at his words, Lux's eyebrows furrowed. "Yeah..." A low sigh escaped her lips; she felt really bad for him, but at the very least, he WAS feeling something again. That was a whole lot better than never being able to walk again. Of course, Lux didn't say that, as she figured Tim needed to vent a little. That was what people needed in situations like this, right?
Grimacing at his next words, Luxanna chuckled softly. "I don't think me going hiking is the best of ideas," she said, shaking her head. "I'd probably trip over a root and fall into some kind of deep and dark hole..." she trailed off then, as he kissed her hands. Her cheeks flushed, though a somber smile formed on her lips as she looked at him. The way he could make her feel so much better with such a small gesture was amazing. It made the butterflies at the pit of her stomach flutter wildly and she simply adored it.
But even Lux had to admit that their last "hike" had been wonderful. It caused her smile to widen ever so slightly. Tim might not have thought he was the most suave guy out there, but he knew exactly when to step up. Resting her head on his shoulder, Lux pulled his hand to her chin, resting it against her skin as she pursed her lips. "I'm sure you'll feel better in no time," she nodded.

Tim smiled ruefully at Lux's comment. Yeah indeed. "Hey, at least I'm feeling something. That's progress," he insisted, nodding. Yeah, progress, just as they wanted. And Lux was, as always, being an angel about it: talking about how hiking would be a bad idea for her. He was tempted to riff on that, to remind her about how walking across the hall was dangerous. But he was just too happy that she did that, that she spun things that way.
So he cuddled up against her as she spoke, running his hand along her arm. "Hey, I'm already feeling better," he insisted, tapping his fingers along her. "Comes from having loads of amazing people around and stuff. Though you're setting an awfully high standard here," He used his other hand to adjust his glasses again. "I don't think I'll be able to be that good when you're laid up next time. You should be doing something inconsiderate, give me something to work with."
And he smiled at her, since he knew that sometimes Lux did need little signals that he was joking. A smile and then a look at the collection of movies, again wondering how it was that someone like Lux could be that into zombies.

"It is," she assured him with a smile. She was glad that Tim at the very least saw the light at the end of the tunnel. She would leave it at though; she hardly saw the need to divulge any further into it, unless Tim himself brought it up. It was all very new and confusing to her, the concept of having a boyfriend. The concept and idea of being someone's girlfriend. In a way, it didn't feel that different. She talked to him as she would any other friend, but she supposed, that was at the end of the day, what it was all about. Right?
Her cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, and she looked down at their hands, the corners of her lips tugging. "I'm glad you think so," she admitted; she was tempted to point out that she really wasn't all that, but it seemed pointless. Instead, she opted for just accepting the compliment as it was served and take her own insecurities in stride. She lifted her gaze, her brows furrowing slightly, but instantly relaxed at the smile.
She wasn't very adept when it came to reading people, and sometimes, she even proved to be a little dense. Or maybe, part of her simply didn't allow her to read all the cues. She was glad that Tim did make an effort to show her. Her gaze followed his to the movies and she sighed. "They're not that bad."

And of course Lux wouldn't realize she was that amazing. Tim could post video after video talking about how amazing she was, or outright tell her, and she'd still think that she had some sort of issues. Well, that was just part of her charm, really.
Like the zombie movies. Though at least she picked up on that. "Hey, I didn't say they were bad!" he said. Tim leaned forward, flicking through movies. "I mean, who doesn't like a good Romero?" he held up The Dawn of the Dead, turning to look at it and nodding approvingly. "Though you're definitely going to ruin it when we watch. Because I'm supposed to act all tough and manly while you squeal and jump and bury your head in my shoulder. But instead I'm going to end up squealing so loud that Furby's gonna wonder what's up."
Tim smiled, then leaned back, still holding the film. he flipped it over a few times, trying to remember the last time he'd watched it. He definitely watched his share of zombie movies these days. "So..." He looked at Lux, smiling and raising his brows, waving the case, "was that your brilliant plan? Have I totally guessed it?"

Grimacing, Lux turned her head to look at her boyfriend. "What kind of century are you from?" She shook her head a little as she chuckled. "If you want me to, I could pretend to be scared? At least then we could be scared together." She shook her head then as her eyes moved to the DVD Tim was holding. She reached her hand out and tapped the cover. "This one isn't all that scary though..." There was so many worse movies with a lot more of jump scares. Like the 28 series. They had a lot more scenes that kind of turned up all the anticipation and stress, whereas Dawn of the Dead had a much better plot, but less action.
At least in her opinion.
But she was hardly an expert.
"Ah yes," she nodded. "My plan was totally to scare you and make you scream." Her head tilted to the side though as she shrugged; she didn't think she could be mean enough to do that. She'd never actually force this on anyone. "Unless you wanna watch something else. Something less scary; like, oh I don't know... Bambi?" Lo and behold; Lux could be sassy.
Taking the move from Tim's hand, Lux looked at it for a moment as she pursed her lips. "I mean, we don't have to watch this one if you don't want to. It's a classic, but there's more than this. There's always the gentler version of your typical zombie movie, like Warm Bodies." She tossed Tim a glance at that.
Post by Tim Tawfeek on Apr 12, 2015 22:08:49 GMT -6
Wow, who knew that Lux could be sassy? Tim actually stared at her with something like surprise at her first comment, his brows raising above his glasses. "Damn, girl," he said, chuckling. He brought his hand up to rub the back of his head. "Guess I deserved that though."
Not that he could help it. He kind of grew up watching all the cheesy stuff and wondering if he'd actually get a girl to do it. And here he had Lux, who actually liked watching zombie movies. Apparently enough that she had a ranking system devised. Tim couldn't help but grin all the wider. Not that this was the first time he'd teased her about this and gotten the response, but it was nice to get it back.
"I don't know," Tim said, letting out a deep breath and looking. He reached up as if to wipe away a tear. "That movie's pretty damn intense. I mean," he gave her a sad look, "the mom dies," and then he wiped away another tear.
Tim readjusted his glasses and then moved back, coming up next to Lux. "You do realize how very hot you are right now?" he asked, reaching to give her a slight tap on the shoulder. "And I totally recommended that movie to Onnie. That was back before I realized she was gonna watch it with Jack, who I imagine wanted to crawl out a window." Tim looked back at the movies, nodding. "Why don't you just pick one out? I'm cool with whatever, and clearly you're already convinced that you picked a boyfriend with just awful taste."

The thing was, Lux felt a lot more comfortable around Tim now, than what she had before, which ironically, downed her usual awkward and shy demeanor by a lot. That in turn, brought out her more down to earth and yes, even sassy like personality. Because in truth, Lux was only awkward around people she didn't know all that well. If one looked at the way she interacted with Jack, one would find a lot more subdued and less flustered girl. Offering her boyfriend something of a smirk, Luxanna didn't respond.
Staring at Tim, Lux almost rolled her eyes at his display. Almost. Instead, Luxanna looked at him with an almost stoic expression. "Oh yes, very manly indeed." She stuck her tongue out at him at that, as if to show that she was in fact, just joking. Her stoic expression was replaced by a soft smile.
Lux's eyes narrowed slightly when Tim drew closer, her cheeks flushing at his comment; it was something Lux thought she'd never, ever get used to. With that, the brunette averted her gaze and pulled her attention back to the movies. Chuckling softly at the comment about Jack crawling out of a window, Lux mused to herself. "He suggested we watched The Human Centipede the other day. Clearly, he had no idea what the movie is about." Pursing her lips, Lux reached for the box with the movies and pulled it closer.
Digging through the contents of it, she finally settled upon a movie called "Fido". Handing it over, she quirked her brow. "This shouldn't be too scary for you." There was an almost playful gleam dancing inside her green eyes as she pressed the cover against Tim's chest.

There was that narrowing and flushing that happened nearly every time that Tim mentioned Lux's physical appeal. He honestly didn't see how she didn't realize it. The girl had been the object of Tim's outright lust for so long that sometimes that old feeling still roared to the forefront (often in the most awkward of ways, as when they'd had to sort of pretend that an erection just didn't happen from time to time).
Now though, they were situated and Lux seemed to at least be moving beyond the moment, talking about Jack and movies. Tim had to chuckle, picturing Jack freaking out while watching that particular film. What he didn't mention was that how glad he was to hear that Jack and Lux had "made up." He made a mental note to doublecheck with Jack later, see what was going on there.
Tim idly continued the thought as she watched Lux search through the films. Soon enough she pulled out video and made another playful comment. Tim quirked a brow at that. "I'm gonna end up squealing like a child and burying my head in your chest, aren't I?" he asked. He rolled his eyes and gestured. "Well, go ahead and put it in. I'll try to man up for a couple of hours."

"You would surely love that, wouldn't you?" Despite her reddening cheeks, Lux still managed something of a smirk. She nodded then as she moved towards the television and DVD player. Opening the cover, she knelt down in front of the television and put the DVD into the player. With that, Luxanna returned to her seat and pulled her legs up underneath her chin.
Honestly though. Fido was hardly all that scary to begin with. It was almost a little more on the comical side of most zombie movies. Sure, it had its scary moments, but all in all, it was a pretty entertaining movie. It had been some time since Lux had last seen it, but at the very least, she came more prepared than Tim did.
Leaning to the side, Luxanna put her head on Tim's shoulder and smiled. "It's okay though. I won't tell anyone who wears the pants really." A hand came up to cover her mouth as she stifled the slight chuckle that threatened to escape her lips. "And if anything, you can borrow one of my furbies to keep you safe." Because their oogling eyes totally weren't creepy. Aaaat all.

Tim just bounced his brows as Lux insisted that he'd love it, teasing even as she blushed. He arranged himself so she could more easily go up and put in the DVD, watching all the while, pausing only for a moment to adjust his glasses. He seemed to vaguely recall this movie as being one of those black comedy types, but he wasn't sure. He was tempted to look it up on his phone, and could feel his fingers twitching already. Something told him that wouldn't be a good idea.
Lux was back anyway, and Tim adjusted so that she could more easily lean on his shoulder. His arm went down to circle around her, pulling her close. His thumb drew little circles along her, again acting almost as if he were surprised that he could actually sit there and touch her. "Pretty sure everyone knows already," he drawled, then chuckled, rolling his eyes.
"Gah, don't remind me. Furby's been a pain in the butt lately. I had to explain lesbianism to her the other day and, yeah," Tim arched his brows and chuckled before arranging himself again, pulling Lux close. He was tempted to let his hand drift down, but he didn't fancy getting slapped. he'd wait until a prime moment in the movie, then "accidentally" drift low.

This was nice. Sitting with Tim like this. And it was totally within her comfort zone too. Sometimes Lux worried that all of this wasn't enough. Despite her innocence and usual dense demeanor, Lux knew that sex was often a very important factor in a relationship, and she was very grateful that Tim had been as patient as he'd been without really making any moves when it came to that. She wasn't sure when she'd be ready for the next step, but it surely wasn't now. Just the simple thought of intercourse had the brunette growing nervous - and not the good kind.
Lifting her head at his words, Luxanna chuckled. "Well, I imagine something like that is hard to explain to an animal," she nodded. Though, she also figured that a talk like that had to be pretty damn amusing. Not that it was something she wanted to go through herself, of course, but still. Letting Tim pull her closer once again, Lux's head settled back on his shoulder.
Her green eyes drifted back towards the television screen as the intro to Fido started playing. It was one of those dark humor horror movies with comedy elements braided into an horror movie. It was stupid, really, but enjoyable enough. At least it was better than the Human Centipede.
