The orange streaks of sunset had finally given way to the deep purple of the late evening, the black paintbrush of night deepening the canvas of the sky to a darkened hue. The near overbaring heat of the day had cooled to a pleasant warmth plagued by a cool breeze, driving most of the open deck's partyers to seek out the vibrant nightclubs and bars that the ship had to offer. The ocean became a shimmering black mirror, stretching out into what seemed like nothingness, the sky above a black blanket scattered with dancing droplets of light in a black void of open sky... There was some sort of dark beauty about it. It was stunning.
Artemis smiled warmly, blinking up at the clear night sky with wide eyes of admiration; He'd spent most of his life in the city, where seeing such a sight was nigh impossible, so seeing it now was awe inspring.
He had come out purposefully for this, avoiding the revelry and boom of music that shook the nightclubs; He was thankfully for a moment of quiet solitude... He hadn't exactly had the greatest holiday so far, with his twin more hateful towards him then ever and with another pair of twins no doubt baying for his blood... So he'd sought out a moment of quiet purposefully. He was sat high up on the top deck, on a metal walkway that surrounded one of the ship's funnels, an area usually restricted from passengers.
Artemis's wings had taken care of that, his wasp like appendages now folded behind his back as he sat cross legged, gazing upwards into the open sky. He shifted his eyeline downward to the open book on his lap, smiling at the intricate illustration on the page. "Sirus," He mumbled to himself. "You really are pretty damn bright." He then shuddered slightly as a pick up in the cool breeze swept over him, pulling at the blanket he'd taken from his room further over his shoulders.
Suddenly movement caught his eye, and Artemis drew his gaze curiously from his book to the deck below, where another figure that seemingly chosen the quiet of the open deck to the loud partying coming from indoors. He narrowed his eyes a moment, trying to pick out exactly who the figure was,
only for a wide grin to spread across his lips at his realisation; thankfully it wasn't a staff member or member of the crew. "HEY!" He called out, waving his hand in the air enthusiastically. "DEVYN!"
