He love, love, loves long black jackets, especially with buttons. They're yummy, and he's yummy, so it fits. He's also a fan of loose shirts, typically the type that show off a V section of his chest. He'll almost always have sunglasses on him, though will rarely use them. Boots are also cool. PERSONALITY:
Short-Tempered describes Asa rather well. He isn't patient or composed, he'll say what he feels and do what he likes, when he wants to. He can be quick to snap at someone, but equally quick to apologize and offer a smile. Sarcasm comes naturally to him, but it's almost always without harmful intent. His short temper is the same as his short attention span, and he's always quick to act.
Asa is Passionate and intense in everything he does. He'll pursue his passions to the ends of the earth, no matter where it takes him, just to further his own interest. He'll channel his interest and energy into anything that captures his attention. This almost always takes something out of his pocket, which doesn't seem like much of an issue at the time, but becomes one later. Asa tends to pick up new hobbies every few weeks, and few rarely stick with him. So he is quite loose with money, and really should be watched. To date he has tried book-binding, sculpting, ceramics, tattooing, photography, knitting and croquet. Tattooing has been the only thing to actually stick. Despite his eager nature to try new things, once he has a passion he'll stick with it forever.
Protective like all the King members, Asa sticks by his family and values them above all else. He'll protect anyone that captures his interest, or will at least try to. Because of this though he can be a little controlling by accident as well as incredibly invasive. He rarely understands boundaries if he believes he's helping a friend or loved one.
He is proudly Shameless in all things, which was probably heightened by his work as a prostitute. He is rarely inhibited by his doubts and will commit any act (sultry or otherwise) with the utmost confidence, and without realizing that it may offend or scar the people around him. In this way he's happy to do close to anything requested of him no matter where he is or what the situation is like. He'd whip off his shirt at a Sunday mass if someone paid him to do it. Because he has little care for himself or what he does, Asa follows the whims of others easily, so long as it doesn't interfere with his own beliefs or his family.

Asa was the first born child to Axel and Serena, a happy, yet poor couple. He grew up in the same area as his cousin Everett considering his father was Axel's brother. Considering their lack of wealth the importance of 'protect the family' was drilled in to Asa every day. Because of this, when he was three and his parents informed him that he was to have another sibling, Asa was thrilled. Of course, this was mainly because his young mind couldn't grasp the troubles another child would bring.
Emery, Asa's younger brother was born when he was four. Protective from the start Asa loved piling attention onto his baby brother, and would often give him the best parts of his own meagre dinner. When his sister Beckett was born, Asa was six and once again thrilled. This was also the year he began going to public school with Everett.
Unfortunately with three kids the second King family struggled more than the first. Asa dropped out of school when he was nine of his own free will. He knew Emery would need the opportunity to go to school the next year, and as the oldest child in the house he had to help out. At this point Asa was popular. He loved people and enjoyed making friends, and so people loved him too. He began handing out pamphlets and brochures every day for a small income, but the job filled him with pride to be helping out.
When Asa was twelve his mother died. Emery was still in school and Beckett was getting ready to start. Asa had moved up in his job and was a young door-to-door salesman, his friendly personality helping with the task. His mother's death tore Asa apart, but not as badly as his father.
Driven by anger, grief and frustration, late one night a few months after Serena's death Asa's father raped him for the first time.
The forced relationship continued for a few months, with Asa unwilling to leave and let his younger siblings face his father alone. Instead he tried to distract himself with work, filled with confusion and pain. When he was fifteen Asa had finally had enough. After an argument with his father and another attempted rape Asa took his siblings and left. Unfortunately, they had nowhere to go and were left to cower on the streets, with Asa swearing to protect them both. Emery dropped out of school to help Asa, and while Beckett tried to as well they both insisted she stay. Asa lost his job, after his father went to his employer and told him what had been happening for the past few months, placing blame on his son rather than himself.
He had no choice but to search for a job. He found it almost immediately, in an unlikely place.
Asa became a prostitute after being approached on the street by a 'customer'. He'd always had a pretty face and an attractive personality, so when he was approached by a man, he just went with it. After seeing all the money he earned for one night of nothing, he decided to continue with it. In his eyes he had already been corrupted and ruined by his father, there was no going back from that so he simply had to make the best of it. He didn't have sex with a girl until he was sixteen, and by that point there was nothing special in it for him to differentiate between male and female. He enjoyed the job, enjoyed the different people he met and making them happy, but there was little in it for himself other than the money. Still, he was happy, and he and Emery had even saved up enough money to move into a small apartment.
When he was eighteen Asa thought he had fallen in love with a girl. She wasn't one of his customers, but merely a stranger he met one night at a bar. Well, he says 'met', but really he just watched her dance. He could have watched her for hours, for how carefree and joyful she seemed. Innocent and out of place. Her name was Sophia and it seemed like love at first sight. They dated for five months before Sophia became pregnant. To Asa, it was another member to add to the family, and he was thrilled. That was his simple logic. But Sophia was terrified and angry, and she blamed Asa for the pregnancy. One night she disappeared without a trace, and Asa was heartbroken. He never heard from her again, or tried to track her down.
Working on the streets Asa made a lot of friends, though the closest to his heart was a girl named Lucy. His little baby sister Lucy that he immediately tried to adopt into his family. (She more or less refused but he did it anyway) Desperate for money Asa had approached Lucy to proposition her for a night, even though she looked twelve and broke. He'd been......turned down, to put it gently, though he took the rejection well. Far from leaving her alone, Asa took a particular interest in Lucy, and in her care. Annoyed at having been rejected (which hadn't happened before) his relationship with her turned somewhat competitive and prickly on the surface, with each one trying to best the other in whatever it is they were doing, even in something so basic as surviving. Asa for his part tried to keep Lu away from alcohol and drugs, not that it worked. Most of the rivalry between them was just for show, he felt, and deep down he viewed Lucy as another little sister to care for.
When Asa turned twenty-one he went to watch a tattoo art competition on a whim, and immediately fell in love with the art. Without the money to go to an actual arts school he used the back streets to procure the necessary items and simply started trying it out on himself and anyone else that was willing to trust him. There were a few...mishaps at first, but Asa had great self-confidence and skilled hands, and he picked up the skill surprisingly quickly. He continued his street work, and even gave a tattoo to his cousin Everett, who appeared out of the blue for the first time in years. When he was twenty-three he finally had enough money to open his own tattoo parlour, 'Kinky' and has been working there ever since. He still works as a part-time prostitute, just for the enjoyment, and the money.
