Ellis still wasn't sure why she elected to go on this trip. Really, it was a bad idea. She and the concept alone didn't mix. People - a fair amount of people - placed on a boat, which was subsequently placed somewhere in the ocean. She didn't see how this was going to benefit her in the slightest. She had little to no intention of leaving the room she stood in front of.
Unlocking it, she glanced at the key in her hand as she ran her thumb across it. It wasn't well coded - colours were usually her choice. But she could manage. It wasn't until she drawled her belongings into the room that she noticed a few key factors. One, that it was tiny.
Two, there was only one bed.
This... Had to be a mistake.
She dropped the back off her shoulder and quickly stepped back out of the room, glancing across the number on the door. No, that was the right number. Walking back inside the tiny, tiny room, she closed the door behind her. Truthfully, her first instinct was that this was going to turn out in her favour. She had a room to herself.

This trip was going to be sweet. She wasn't sure what the hell kind of school brought their student population on a cruise, but then again Bellefonte wasn't exactly your normal kind of school, and Sam was perfectly okay with that. The sun, ocean, and water bottle filled with Absolute was enough to convince Sam that she was going to have a good time. The Brunette grinned as she pulled at the strap of her bag, adjusting it while she walked down the hallway in search of her room.
When she approached the door, Sam dug into the pocket of her shorts, pulling out the key. As she opened the door, she immediately caught sight of the familiar flash of blonde hair, and Sam grinned widely. “Hey, buddie!” stepped inside, closing the door with her foot. This was an unexpected turn of events, but they did little to actually phase the Boston girl. Little did.
Yet, as she stepped further into the room, her eyebrows rose in confusion. She reached up with her free hand, lifting the sunglasses from the bridge of her nose and placing them on top of her head. The room was small. Really small, and --“Why's there only one bed?”

Just when Ellis had really managed to take the time to realise things weren't so bad, she heard something from the other side of the door. The idle movement of keys; one sinking into the lock. The latch shifting, the door opening. She looked back over her shoulder.
This had to be a joke. No, not a joke. A tactical error.
The inability to articulate her own name seemed to irk her for the moment, and she quickly turned her eyes. Her shoulders rose with a slow breath. She could handle this. Her company, for however long she'd force it to last.
"You must have the wrong room." Ellis finally replied, though it was hardly a reply to her question. She'd already checked to ensure she wasn't wrong, so logically, it was the Boston girl's mistake.

Even if her expression had expressed her confusion, Sam’s features quickly shifted back to her usual smile. She had to share a room? Oh well. She already shared a dorm with this girl, a single for a few days wouldn’t be so bad, even if it was closet sized.
Sam let out a laugh as she was blamed for the confusion. “I know how to fucking read.” She stated, lifting up the paper in her hand, which was upside down as she showed it to Ellis. “Room seventeen,” she stated with a nod, “If it was wrong, how could I get in, anyway?” Honestly though, the idea of sharing a room didn’t phase her much, or, at least not as much as she imagined it bothered the other. And it did. Sam could see it in her composure.
The brunette slid her bag off her shoulder, looking at the bed with an amused expression. “I hope you don’t mind that I didn’t pack pajamas. Not really a fan of wearing clothes to bed.” A slow grin spread over her lips as she brought her gaze to Ellis, “Especially if I have someone with me to keep me warm.”

Ignoring her verbal outburst, Ellis moved closer towards her in order to get a decent look at the paper she held. It was upside down, and that fact pulled her mouth into a frown. She wanted to fix it. It drove her crazy not to. "I don't know." She replied. She knew how someone would get past a door without a working key, but she didn't speak.
She felt her eyes widen at the concept of actually sharing a bed with someone without choosing to do so. She looked so amused by it, but that shouldn't have surprised Ellis like it did. She thought everything was worth laughing at.
"You're lying." She denoted definitely. She wad wearing clothes right now, and she could definitely sleep in them. "We're not sleeping together."
There was just absolutely no probable chance of that.

Had Sam realized that the paper she was holding was upside down, she would have…well, she wouldn’t have done anything to change it, honestly. Still, she watched as the blonde’s mouth pulled downward, assuming that it was because of the newfound information. “It won’t be that bad, you might even like it.”
Sam walked over to the bed, flopping onto it lazily as she grabbed the pillow, putting it under her child while she looked up at Ellis. The Boston tilted her head down into the pillow, choosing to hide her grin at Ellis’s reaction. This was too good.
Finally, she looked up again, making a point to stretch on the bed that the two were seemingly forced to share. “You’ll certainly find out that I’m not tonight.” She stated, although she had been bluffing to an extent. The Boston girl never wore pants to bed, and she honestly hadn’t packed any to wear while sleeping.
“I think we are. Do you see any other beds in here?”

Ellis didn't respond. Not to the question of whether or not she'd like the predicament they were in.
She watched her roommate fall onto the bed. The bed they were supposed to share. That she'd be in, potentially in a significantly decreased amount of clothing. That pillow was clearly hers now, and somethinf about the way she took hold of it physically irked Ellis for a brief moment before she returned to her usual neutral expression.
"I can request to move." Ellis pointed out, though she doubted this discrepancy was easily fixed. "But I was here first. Therefore, you should be the one to leave."

When things bothered Ellis, it showed, and Sam loved that fact. Her fingers dug into the pillow as she pulled it closer to herself, her dark eyes focused on the way Ellis's lip twitched.
Sam flipped onto her back, putting her hands behind her head as she looked over at Ellis, the ever amused expression remaining on her face. “I ain't gonna leave,” she said after a moment, raising her eyebrows at the blonde, “You've got an issue with it. Me? I think this could be a comfortable arrangement.”
Extending her hand, she patted the spot next to her, as if offering half the bed to her roommate. “I mean, if you want to get a different room, you can.” She caught the blonde's eyes, looking for any reaction she offered, “I'm staying put.”

Ellis couldn't help but take note of just how comfortabld she was becoming on the bed the blonde had so recently assumed was hers. For the duration, anyway. She didn't answer her. Not at first. Instead, she pressed her palms together, interlocking her fingers for the sake of the movement. Forced stability.
She took a breath. This girl...
Just offered her half the bed. As if that was an acceptable thing to do. Her eyebrows knit together in frustration. Because this was frustrating. She was frustrating in more ways Ellis could describe
“Calling this a comfortable arrangement is improbable.” She pointed out, because she'd found herself stuck on the statement. Freeing her own hands, Ellis ran her fingers along her forearms and curled them around her elbows. Defensive - though not so far as to actually fold her arms. "Unless..."
Pause. Clarity in the form of a silent realisation caught her. "Ah." She rarely dropped such a disjointed sound. But there it was.

“I dunno, love. Why don't you give it a shot?” Again, she patted the spot next to her, even making an effort to scoot herself over a couple of inches, making room for the blonde. Her eyes flicked to Ellis's hands, watching how she intertwined her fingers before she noticed the rise and fall of her chest with the breath Ellis took.
“I bet you like to cuddle.” Sam nodded towards Ellis, watching how her eyebrows knit together. It was like Sam didn't even have to try to get a response out of her. This was brilliant.
Sam sat up; it was her turn to knit her eyebrows, but unlike Ellis, she did so in confusion. “Like what?” There were a variety of things that sentence could have meant. Sam hadn't followed her roommates logic, but she seemed like she was sure about something. She studied Ellis's expression for a few moments, even when she could read physical queues, Sam wasn't a mind reader. Not knowing seemed to bug the brunette more than she liked to admit; “Don't go assuming anything about me now.”
