Everett clicked his tongue in distaste. "This change you're talking about was led by Martin Luther King Jr, actively believed in and restricted his actions to peaceful, non-violent retaliations." He countered. "What you're suggesting is vandalism of property and quite realistically breaking-and-entering. When mutants are revealed and your organisation steps forward, how exactly are you going to twist your little actions into a positive light?" Everett challenged, crossing his legs and shifting his ass. It was digging uncomfortably into the chair, heightened by his already uncomfortable attitude.
"I'm not saying I wont help, I'm more than interested in the good of our kind. However, I refuse to take part in vandalism and destruction of property towards those that I have yet had no inkling of a threat from." That was more of less his final decision, and he stood up, as if that in any way helped to prove his point.
"I don't think we need protection. The very idea is in preparation of a perceived threat, and until that threat is confirmed or denied, we are acting on rumors alone. That makes us just as bad as these enemies you has 'configured' in your paranoid little mind."
"We live in a different time than Martin Luther King Jr., Everett King. Do you honestly believe that people will settle for a burning cross in our lawns? You asked for evidence that these people intended to harm someone, and I will happily provide that. Our goal is not bloodshed, but we are not strong enough unified force to be revealed yet. If we are, we will do what we can, but if we have a choice in it, we still need people to stand with us."
"We aren't taking some truck from some kid in a sandbox, Everett King. We're destroying equipment that will undoubtedly be replaced in a week. To try and save a life. No one will come to physical harm for this, so long as your team chooses not to let them."
Eryn hadn't much else to say. The boy was willing to support the cause apparently, but he didn't understand the difference that Eryn was trying to point out. His organization wasn't going to find peace from just a few rally marches. This issue was far too deep, and if the boy couldn't see it... Well, that was disappointing.

As a note, it can be assumed that Eryn is monitoring thoughts unless there is someone else with telepathy or power sensing around.

"Evidence first, I'm waiting. You keep promising to share, I've received nothing yet." If there was one thing he hated it was senseless activity, and unproductive activity. "Besides, you're contradicting yourself. I don't care what actions they take, our retaliation beforehand will certainly not help."
What he saw as straightforward logic, his mysterious voice was clearly too close-minded to see. It was ironic, in an irritating kind of way. "I don't see the point, if it's to be replaced that quickly. Why not protect this target that you feel is in danger? That seems like a much more viable option."
Cracking his knuckles impatiently, Everett kicked the ground. "I'll help, but the moment you start yanking me around like a puppet, I'm out. Clear?"
