Beau let out a low whistle as he looked around the music room. You didn't really stop to think about something like this until you were actually in a situation where it mattered. Like now, when Beau had volunteered to tune the instruments in the music room... all the instruments.
"Well, they ain't gonna tune themselves," Beau mumbled, letting out a breath. He walked forward, looking at the various instruments set up. He nodded a few times before heading toward the piano. Beau rearranged the piano to get a clear view of the strings. He reached in and began tapping a few of them, nodding before heading over to gather up some of the necessary bits to fully tune the piano.
"Be a lot easier if someone else was around," he mumbled. Beau shrugged and kept going, digging around in the cupboard, eventually coming out with the various tuning instruments. He pared them down to the piano one, nodding and carrying it over to the piano. "Now, jus' gotta..." he set the tuning down and stretched to try and tap the piano keys, keeping an eye on the piano all the while, essentially stretching himself between the two in the most awkward manner possible. The plinking notes didn't sound too great either: Beau nearly winced with every plunk. Wasn't like he could see a way around doing it this way though.
Naturally, the first place Adrian was going to visit was the music room; she hadn't spent most of her life singing and taking music lessons because she didn't have a passion for it, anyways. And with being new at the school and all, she figured she'd at least get a good feel of it, and well, what better way was there than to visit the various classrooms?
To her surprise, she found the music room unlocked. Opening the door, she peeked her head inside and her brows furrowed slightly as she watched the boy trying to tune the piano. Quickly, the furrowed brows was replaced by a wide grin. Stepping inside, Adrian whistled. "Neat place you got here," the Brit said, nodding as she agreed with herself.
She didn't stop walking until she reached the piano. Leaning up on the tip of her toes, she leaned forward to get a better look at what the boy was doing. "Need a hand there?" she asked, chuckling softly.
This was a golden opportunity for her to meet new people -- or, new person and make all the lovely and cool friends. Besides, it looked like this guy at least had some basic knowledge with music - why else would he be there -, and that just fit Adrian perfectly.

The voice caused Beau to freeze or, well, freeze further. He looked at the pretty girl as she bounded forth, and was surprised mostly by the fact that he didn't immediately recognize her. He had known most of the pretty girls at one point in time, though that had definitely been before he'd gotten all engaged and what have you.
The question, at least, gave him something to answer. Beau chuckled and pulled himself up into a slightly more dignified position, his arms resting on the piano. "What gave ya the first clue?" He drawled. He smiled, nodded, then gestured. "Was sent in here to start tunin' the instruments an' figured I'd start on the piano. Used to help my ma do it back home. 'course there were usually a few more hands with that."
Beau gestured. "You able to plunk keys? 'cuz that's probly the easy part. Less you wanna adjust the strings an' listen right," he was already reaching for the various tools, only to pause just as his fingers touched it. "Name's Beau, by the by," he said, nodding. "Don't reckon we've bumped into each other yet. Least ways I don't recognize ya."
Grinning at the boy, Adrian shrugged at the rhetorical question. "Ooooh, I see," she said, nodding. Stepping a little closer, she stood on the tip of her toes and leaned forward to get an even better view on what the guy was doing. It looked simple enough, though she was fairly certain it wasn't exactly the kind of job she'd see herself succeeding in. Sure, she knew how to play the piano decently enough, but she was far from any master, and tuning the piano was way past her gifts. "Well, needless to say, I don't envy you the job, though it seems somewhat unfair to expect you do it all by your lonesome," she Brit drawled, still smiling.
Rocking back on her heels, Adrian folded her hands behind her back as she shrugged again. "I 'spose I could try." Her smile turned a little more playful as she pursed her lips. "I can't promise you I'll be any good though, but if you tell me what I'm 'sposed to do, I'd be more than happy to help-- or at least try." It couldn't be that hard, could it? "Heya, Beau. I'm Adrian-- and yes, nevermind the boyish name--" she swatted her hand absentmindedly in the air. "--and nah, you wouldn't. I just transferred from St. Bethany."
She wondered if she'd ever get tired of saying that. Seemed to be the only thing she talked about these days, though she figured it was important enough. Clapping her hands together, Adrian bounced excitedly. "Alright, boss. Teach me your ways!"

Beau chuckled, raising a hand up to brush through his hair. "Job ain't too bad, an' I did volunteer to do it all on my lonesome. Figured some time with the instruments would do me some good: seems like I've been focusin' on all the rougher parts of life," Beau paused, then shrugged, "Well, that an' my girl."
Which of course caused Beau to grin. Just mentioning Liz had a tendency to do that to him, let alone actually being in her presence. He kept the smile as Adrian continued, bobbing her head and moving along. He recognized the accent, though his mind instantly went "Posh" before "English." The name was something new, but soon he was letting out an "ah" and nodding. "That explains why I ain't seen you around afore then," he said, giving her one of his most charming smiles. "I usually know most of the names of the pretty girls 'round these parts. Thought I was losin' my touch."
He winked, then gestured for Adrian to come around. "This ain't a lesson or nothin', sad to say. That can come later if you're itchin' for it. I jus' need you to plink a few keys, an' I'll do the adjusting." Beau backed up, moving more comfortably toward the body of the piano, various tools at the ready. He'd know what to do when she started playing, after all.
Nodding at his words, the blonde smiled. "Well, life can't be all a dance on roses," she said, again, nodding. After all, she'd heard the school and the students had been through quite a lot the past year, so she was actually rather surprised that they all managed to work as well as they did. Things like that, SPECTRE and the fire had to leave some kind of marks, right? She supposed it was amazing how well they managed to rise from the ashes.
"Nah," she said, swatting her hand absentmindedly. "Trust me, if I'd been from around here, you would have noticed me without doubt," she grinned. "I'm not exactly the background kind of gal, you know? Social butterfly and born in the spotlight, and all that." Well, not directly, but she had always loved it, so she figured it was the same either way. After all, Adrian loved the attention, which most singers or artists did these days - or so it seemed, anyways. After all, that was why people opted to become famous in the first place. They lived for recognition, fame and validation. That was how she saw it, anyways.
Moving as he gestured for her to, Adrian pressed her lips together as she focused on what he was saying, which was a feat on its own. She wasn't particularly good at doing two things at once. "I can do that," she said, placing her fingers on the keys. Pressing a few of them done, she nodded. "Like that, right? It's not exactly rocket science, so I think I'll manage," she grinned and winked at the boy. Placing her other hand down on the keys she stretched them out. "Ready when you are, boss."

A dance on roses? The expression had Beau chuckling: "Don't reckon I've heard that one afore," he admitted. Though it did sound like something that someone from back home would love to say. Beau repeated the words to himself, smiling and moving along. Well, he could definitely agree with the sentiment though... unless she was talking about the thorns.
Girl seemed pretty confident that they would've run into each other too. That had Beau nodding: he could appreciate the confidence. "Sounds like you an' I woulda ended up datin' then," he drawled, adding a wink, "since I don't generally let the pretty social ones alone. Jus' ask my fiance," who was definitely pretty and social, since pretty well everyone knew who Liz was. Though she'd been a little more subdued lately, what with everything going on.
Right, time to actually focus on the whole tuning thing. Beau had volunteered for the job, and he wanted to make sure that he got it done. He scooted along, waiting while Adrian figured things out. "Yep, that should work," he said, he looked back to the innards of the piano. "Jus' hit the first few keys. Coupla notes, but don't go rockin' out or anythin'. Gotta hear 'em," and he was already adjusting, getting ready. This would be the tricky part but, well, he'd done this for years: he could definitely handle it. Be easier than some of the instruments he'd have to get through, that was for sure.
